The location of this place is a little outside the city center but with the metro station right next door, it wasn't a problem for us.
The check-in process seems a bit laborious at first glance but

I stayed here for 3 nights with my partner, a friend and her baby (3 adults, 1 child).
The apartment is in a very convenient location within walking distance of Gion.

This is an absolutely beautiful property and very close to all of the top sites in Kyoto.

The Residence SHIN has every comfort and amenity travelers would be looking for.

This is a beautiful old home, lots of wood and smelled like cedar. Everything was provided for us for cooking and for toiletries.

Wonderful Airbnb. Great quiet location in the heart of a very busy neighborhood.

Rooms are big enough for 4. I love the thick tatami floors. Clean and spacious bathroom where the toilet is separated from the tub and shower.

We stay in Choya Chawanzaka at our very two days of our trip. It was a truly amazing experience as we get to sleep in a traditional Japan house.

Awesome experience, really surprised with this one. Far away from Japans convient store culture so be ready but a truly relaxing experience for yourself or as a couple.

Budget friendly homestay. Please note that there's will be tax before check in. It's Kyoto city accommodation tax. 200¥ per night per pax. Overall we very satisfied with our stay. Worth the price.

Favorite home we stayed in during our 16 day visit to Japan, spacious, clean, close to station, and our contact was so helpful with multiple questions and ideas for visitors.

For people want to get away from crowded Kyoto and still have all the convenience in and out of Arashiyama, this is the place. Hotel has its own way going in and coming out.

This house offers stunning views and is conveniently close to a restaurant. However, there isn’t a convenience store nearby, so I recommend getting any food or groceries in the city before coming.

Absolutely loved my stay at Sawai! The house was clean and has so much charm. Keiko (hostess) is kind and accommodating. She homemade each of our meals in the morning and brought them to our room.

It's special to stay at a Machiya, and this area feels more authentic than most in Kyoto. It's by a local shopping arcade with many local businesses.
The inn itself was tastefully done.
