Ine Hotels

This is a very unique hotel experience. The hotel is part of a temple. It is so serene and a great way of having a peaceful rest, reflection and contemplation.

Stayed here back in February for one night and it was a phenomenal stay.

Wonderful experience staying at Watazen Ryokan right from the second we stepped into the place the staff were super welcoming and the breakfast was simply amazing!

Interesting experience in the heart of Kyoto. Incredible location that makes you feel like you can go anywhere and see anything.

Small, Intimate, and Cozy Hotel Stay!
We have made an excellent choice in staying here. Booked at the last minute late November 2025 (due to a failed no-show from a ryokan booking).

Small hotel on a quiet street about 600m from the subway. Great water pressure, comfortable beds and just large enough for 2 people and a few suitcases. Kitchen with fridge, microwave and cook top.

An absolute masterpiece of traditional Japanese hospitality! Staying at Yasaka Yutone was the highlight of our trip to Japan.

My stay at Kyokoyado Yasaka Yutone was truly unforgettable. I really appreciated how warm and attentive the staff were. They made me feel completely welcome and looked after throughout my stay.

Positives:
-We had a whole apartment to ourselves — it was nice having 2 separate rooms, one western style, one Japanese style.

Fantastic service with very friendly staff. Super clean, great public transport via bus and train 👌🏽 would stay again.

Chie is a very nice and friendly host. The girls from the staff did a perfect job and were also very kind and friendly. I would recommend the yoga and tea ceremony.

Great traditional bed and breakfast. Very clean and staff is always happy to help.
I highly recommend this place if you like your comfort in a quiet area.

Very nice place. Pretty afordable and in a nice and quiet residential area. Easy access to to both tram and bus.

The guesthouse is very comfortable, clean, and well maintained, feels like home. It is located in a lovely quiet neighborhood, perfect for those looking for a relaxing time away from the crowd.

This is an excellent value place. I appreciate the nice traditional tatami rooms that even have a nice teapot ready for your tea!

I have very good experience staying in this hotel, best location serounded with many restaurants, convenient stores, and just 2min walking distance to metro station.

This is the best hotel in kyoto, rooms are very spacious. Only a train away from gion district. The beds are very comfortable and service is top notch and I loved staying here.

The exact ryokan experience we were hoping to get in Kyoto. Beautiful, traditional building and rooms, absolutely incredible Japanese breakfast each morning, and comfortable futons.

I stayed in the single room at Inn Kawashima for 7 nights. It’s a quiet place to rest and recharge after going out for the day.

We stayed for one night in this beautifully designed apartment in Ine, and it was truly unforgettable.

I took 6 months to look through all the funaya in Ine online, and lastly I book with Cafe & BB Guri.

The hotel is situated at the ehart of Gion District of Kyoto. Its also walking distance from Yasaka shrine, Minamiza theatre and Tatsumi bridge and alley.

Excellent Stay!
I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive from the moment I checked in. My room was spotlessly clean.

The service is top notch! I booked a room but couldn't stay due to a medical emergency and had to return home early. Yu No Yado Shoei was very kind.

Ryokan like dining with Japanese public hot baths. Rooms are traditional tatami floor mats and futons. Service front desk very efficient and helpful.

It was an interesting experience. For reference I’ve only stayed at one capsule hotel before.

The facility is so clean, well maintained, friendly staffs, the breakfast is very good, unlimited rice and toppings are plus points.

My friends and I visited Kyoto for the first time and this place was amazing. The rooms, the service and the view was fantastic. If you want to Wind down after a long trip this is the place to go.

I had the best stay and got to experience authentic Japanese rooms & food.
The staff were amazing and helpful especially Ms. Lama, she made sure every detail is taken care of for a convenient stay.

The room we had was quite small, but the great design overcame this issue. It was nice to have a kitchenette and washing machine. Location is brilliant and staff were fantastic. Loved it.

We were allowed to check in two hours earlier than our check-in time which was greatly appreciated after a tiring travel day. The rooms were very tidy and the service was quick and professional.

I enjoyed a fantastic 6 nights stay at this hotel in kyoto!

We are very happy to stay here. Would recommend friends here.
Staff are friendly and helpful especially the Ms at front desk from Korea.
Room spacious and clean.
Space well plan.

Location, comfortable rooms, close to great Izakaya, bakeries, restaurants, parks and palaces, Kyoto Four Sisters Residence is the place to be.
We did a driving trip, travelling as a family of three

What an enjoyable stay. Before our stay all stay details and cost information was provided so there was little confusion on checkin.

The room had a very distinctive Kyoto charm, and the kitchen was fully equipped—it was delightful to cook and eat together with my family.

100% recommend. Walking distance to Gion, Nishiki market (both must dos), as well as Kyoto station (if you're not carrying luggage).

The Shinmonzen is best located in the middle of old Gion by a stream of water. The room are spacious and beautiful. It is so lovely to be surrounded with so much beauty in every corner.

A truly memorable stay at The Shinmonzen.

We had a very comfortable stay at Kyoto Riverview House Kyoraku.
The location is one of its biggest advantages—perfectly positioned between the main station and the city center.

On arrival our host was fabulous. It’s in a great location on the canal. Walking in I was so happy with large for Japan layout & immediate feeling. Awesome to have washing machine & kitchenette.

A fantastic find in Kyoto. Cheerful, friendly welcome at the central check in office and were able to head straight over to the Villa. We stayed in the Kaze villa which was stunning.

When we booked this place, we received almost immediate instructions via email, which was super helpful.

If you want to experience traditional Japanese room and service then book this hotel. But I recommend staying for just 1 night. I feel like the room needs some cleaning and updating.

The location, staff, atmosphere, experiences were all exceptional.
We had a sukiyaki dinner in our room one night. It was delicious and unforgettable.

I had an excelent solo stay at the yuzuya ryokan. The location is awesome, right next to Yasaka Shrine. It is still quiet inside the ryokan, though.

This hotel was a great experience and immersive in the Japanese culture. My boyfriend and I felt the staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and kind. They went above and beyond expectations.

A very cute Japanese Ryokan. Very nice host, good food and a lot of choice for your beautiful yukata during the stay. Love it so much.

The location was still a close walk to the train station, but the neighborhood was pretty quiet at night. This did suit a ryokan as we were relaxing in the onsen.

Beautiful Japanese traditional style accommodation with 7 guest rooms.
The signs and info sheets are beautifully drawn by the owner. Various items can be borrowed for free (ie.

The photos do not mislead! This guesthouse is very special: The owner, Yuki, and her daughter and staff were so kind, generous and patient.

Located right next to Daitoku-ji and many other temples, a not much touristy area, so there’s not much crowdy.
The owner was incredibly hospitable, friendly, and helpful.

We had a great stay at Bon Guesthouse!
This traditional building is located in a quiet neighborhood of the city, easily accessible with public transport.

I have been traveling for over 8 years and have stayed in hundreds of hotels. SHIN is absolutely the best. Don't hesitate, just book it! Staying here made my Kyoto trip fantastic.

Great hotel, great host. We had a very good stay in kyoto.
The host was very nice, allowed us to do an early check-in in the morning and even washed our laundry.

A Little bit late to the party on the review front. We stayed with Shitatsu in April 2023 and it was a delightful 3 days.

Our host Shitatsu was absolutely key to the success of our stay in Kyoto! He was incredibly kind and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure we had a great time in the city.

Excellent accomodations within easy walking distance of Nijo Station. Do keep in mind that the Guest House is closed between noon and 5pm. The host, Tomi, is wonderful and very kind.

Tommy-san was very accommodating and always checked in to make sure everything is alright. Wish I could have stayed a few more nights but I’ll save that for another time.

Fantastic food and drink, only surpassed by the down home atmosphere enjoyed and attended by locals and tourists alike. Truly a hidden gem.

Best food, great cocktails and lovely atmosphere! Loved their hummus and the staff were amazing and helpful.
Would love to visit them again!
