Excellent accomodations within easy walking distance of Nijo Station. Do keep in mind that the Guest House is closed between noon and 5pm. The host, Tomi, is wonderful and very kind.

Tommy-san was very accommodating and always checked in to make sure everything is alright. Wish I could have stayed a few more nights but I’ll save that for another time.

Some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve had. The falafel and hummus were delicious! Also enjoyed the shukshuka.

Room comfy and homie with a very friendly manager who would love to converse with you!

A Little bit late to the party on the review front. We stayed with Shitatsu in April 2023 and it was a delightful 3 days.

Our host Shitatsu was absolutely key to the success of our stay in Kyoto! He was incredibly kind and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure we had a great time in the city.

I stayed there for 5 nights.
The hostel is located around an hour (by foot) from kyoto station.
The street was calm, quiet and dark at night perfect for sleeping.

If you are fed up with the monotonous hotels that are common in Japan, this is the place for you. If you are looking for excessive quality, I recommend staying at the Hilton Hotel.

What an excellent hostel with a wonderful host. Our room and all the facilites were spotlessly clean.

Probably one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. Immaculately clean, comfortable beds, and easy to find. Shin is a true gentleman.
