Kyoto Hotels

We stayed for 6 nights and the room felt like a home away from home. The spaciousness of it was a welcomed treat after many small hotel rooms in Japan.

We had a great stay at the Apartment Hotel Mimaru, in Kyoto. The location of the hotel is reasonably close to the main shopping streets of Kyoto and the local train station a short walk away.

Very clean and modern looking rooms. The staff is really polite and they offer a lot of additional free benefits.
You get a bunch of value for the price. Can't recommend ot enough.

This hotel was absolutely wonderful! The room was spacious and the futon beds were incredibly comfortable. I also want to give a huge shoutout to the staff, who were so helpful!

I stayed at Kyoto Royal Park Umekoji for a few nights and had a very pleasant experience.

This hotel is truly worth the money. The location is quite convenient, very close to the station and just one stop away from Kyoto Station.

Absolutely loved my stay at hotel androoms. Room was large and comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom. Coat brush and shoe horn provided, as well as pajamas and other amenities.

Great place to relax and unwind after spending the day in Tokyo!  Staff were extra kind and extremely helpful.  The facilities and decor are top-notch.

We stayed at hotel tou for a total of 5 nights in October. We stayed at the superior queen suite for 3 nights and the terrace suite for 2 nights.

We stayed here for 5 days to explore Kyoto and Osaka. Several things about the hotel stand out. The friendliness of all the staff, both at reception and in the breakfast room.

Had a fantastic stay here :) the service is great, check in was easy and quick, and we got free welcome drinks/coffee. The rooms are small but clean and cozy with a desk, and the bathroom is great.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for about five nights in late November 2025. We were in Japan for two weeks in total, in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and stayed at 4 hotels in a similar price range.

We stayed at 3 different hotels during our trip to Japan and this hotel was easily our favorite.

I was very happy with my stay here. Kyoto was towards the end of my trip and throughout the past two weeks I’ve gotten very used to tiny hotel rooms, with tiny bathroom and showers.

Location is perfect for shopping and transport. It’s in the middle of the busy shopping area with access to metro and all bus lines. Rooms are big by Japanese standards.

The hotel is nice staff very friendly we didn’t have the hotel breakfast so no comment but the coffee is free.

I’ve stayed at Richmond hotels before, so I had high expectations, and this stay didn’t disappoint! The room was very spacious, with plenty of space to work, not just a small desk for a laptop.

Great hotel! Simple and clean. Fancy shower facilities. Face wash, lotions downstairs free to grab. Close to main area in Kyoto. Will definitely come again!

​We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and surprisingly spacious for Japan, and the bathroom facilities were a major highlight. They provide complimentary coffee, tea and water in the lobby.

The Gion District is beautiful and quiet, and this hotel is a short walk from some of the main tourist attractions!

Great location, right next to the Gion district and close to a few temples, that made it easy for us to walk. Rooms were clean and as well spacious. One of the better hotels I stayed at in Japan.

Stayed for six nights at the RC Hotel in Kyoto in January and we had a very nice and comfortable stay here.
Getting there from Kyoto station took around 15-20 minutes by bus and foot.

HIDDEN GEM! The layout gives you that Japanese feeling. Bed is on the floor just like they do it. We absolutely loved it.
You are dead smack in the middle of the action during the day.

It was my first time staying in a hostel, and I feel so lucky that I found this one in Kyoto. The location is perfect — super convenient to get anywhere, with lots of great food and shops nearby.

The property is a beautifully restored historical building, blending traditional charm with modern comfort.

Momoyama Onsen Tsukimikan was an exceptional experience. The setting is serene, the design thoughtful, and the onsen feels both intimate and rejuvenating.

Great location within a 2-minute walk of the KyotoTrain Station. Lots of useful amenities in the rooms. The rooms are very small. The bathroom and shower are great. The breakfast has a ton of options.

The hotel is conveniently located next to Kyoto Station. It was a 5 mins walk once u exit the station.

This apartment is in a great location about midway between Kyoto Station to the south and downtown Kyoto and Gion district to the north.

Wonderful stay at this place. The place was very clean and had all amenities. Wonderful hosts as well. They were really accommodating to all our requests.

My boyfriend and I stayed here 4 nights two months ago for our anniversary. We couldn't have dreamt of a better "home" in Kyoto, especially after reading 'In Praise of Shadows'.

This was by far our favorite hotel while in Japan. It was more like a small apartment! We stayed in the room with 2 sets of bunk beds.

Room was very spacious with 2 bunk-beds and a small table in front of TV. Had a good time with family of 4. Very near to bus stops, and the temple. Had everything needed for a short vacation stay.

The room had a very distinctive Kyoto charm, and the kitchen was fully equipped—it was delightful to cook and eat together with my family.

100% recommend. Walking distance to Gion, Nishiki market (both must dos), as well as Kyoto station (if you're not carrying luggage).

Great price and location.
Check-in could only be done at 3pm sharp via a Skype call with their remote customer service team through an iPad they have at the reception.

Stayed here for 2 days and it was wonderful! We stayed in one of the bigger rooms and it had a large kitchen, a big bathroom with a washing machine and a spacious seating area!

I stayed at the Four Seasons Kyoto Hotel again because I forgot my coat when I checked out last time.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Beautiful serene rooms. Incomparable service. Every single staff member is hospitable and go above and beyond to help.

I just moved from a 4 star to this 3 star and the beds are bigger, comfier and the room is more spacious. Self check in was simple, Wi-Fi works and AC too.

Just enjoyed our 5D4N at Kyoto & we stayed at Hiz Hotel Gion Shirakawa as our base. Very charming apartment hotel.

Maana Kiyomizu was absolutely outstanding. The interiors were curated to perfection and the staff were so helpful and friendly.

My husband and I stayed at Maana homes in Kyoto while traveling on our honeymoon. We had an amazing time!
