Kyoto Hotels

Stayed at a hotel in Kyoto that was very conveniently located near both the bus stop and the train station, which made getting around the city super easy.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for about five nights in late November 2025. We were in Japan for two weeks in total, in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and stayed at 4 hotels in a similar price range.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location was good, with a fantastic supermarket next door.

The hotel is nice staff very friendly we didn’t have the hotel breakfast so no comment but the coffee is free.

Great hotel! Simple and clean. Fancy shower facilities. Face wash, lotions downstairs free to grab. Close to main area in Kyoto. Will definitely come again!

​We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and surprisingly spacious for Japan, and the bathroom facilities were a major highlight. They provide complimentary coffee, tea and water in the lobby.

This hotel is so cute and cozy! So far, it is my absolute favourite hotel in Japan!
The Gion District is beautiful and quiet, and this hotel is a short walk from some of the main tourist attractions!

Great location, right next to the Gion district and close to a few temples, that made it easy for us to walk. Rooms were clean and as well spacious. One of the better hotels I stayed at in Japan.

An amazing and truly a one of a kind unique Traditional Japanese experience. This hotel feels like staying at your own Japanese grandma’s house.

Very comfortable and relaxing, traditional ryokan stay. The best parts were the staff and the included breakfast. They also serve dinner there with a the menu that looks incredible.

Best stay I had in Japan! It is so clean, spacious and the pods are perfectly designed.

I stayed at Momoyama Onsen Tsukimikan for two nights and had an exceptional experience.
The property is a beautifully restored historical building, blending traditional charm with modern comfort.

Momoyama Onsen Tsukimikan was an exceptional experience. The setting is serene, the design thoughtful, and the onsen feels both intimate and rejuvenating.

Just next to Kyoto station and Avanti mall. There’s also a small 7 Eleven shop at the ground floor next to the main entrance.

I had an absolutely perfect stay at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Station — 5 stars all the way.

I had an amazing stay at Seryo and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a bit of calm and peace in this crazy world.

This wonderful Ryokan is surrounded by spectacular forests and beautiful temples. The Ryokan was beautifully laid out and very comfortable and calming.

Great place to stay, super close to a couple of bus stops and good restaurants. Staff is amazing, super helpful, accommodating, and speak great english.

This is where you get the vibe and tradition of Japan. It’s so authentic, cozy, though room was a bit small.

Great price and location.
Check-in could only be done at 3pm sharp via a Skype call with their remote customer service team through an iPad they have at the reception.

Stayed here for 2 days and it was wonderful! We stayed in one of the bigger rooms and it had a large kitchen, a big bathroom with a washing machine and a spacious seating area!

I stayed at the Four Seasons Kyoto Hotel again because I forgot my coat when I checked out last time.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Beautiful serene rooms. Incomparable service. Every single staff member is hospitable and go above and beyond to help.

Everything was perfect. Prior to our arrival the communication via email was great. The day of our arrival we got there late and they waited for us and received us pleasantly.

Higashiyama Shikikaboku is simply one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in — full stop. From the moment we arrived, the staff set the tone for the entire stay.

I just moved from a 4 star to this 3 star and the beds are bigger, comfier and the room is more spacious. Self check in was simple, Wi-Fi works and AC too.

Just enjoyed our 5D4N at Kyoto & we stayed at Hiz Hotel Gion Shirakawa as our base. Very charming apartment hotel.

The building itself beautifully reflects the historic character of the area from the outside, while the interior is nothing short of stunning.

Stayed for 4 days in June 2026. This hotel very conveniently located. It’s easy to reach from the subway Station and this made us getting around the city simple.

Lived here for 5 nights, rooms are equipped with cooking top, fridge and washing machine. Very comfortable and 2-min walk close enough to subway station.

I had a wonderful stay at Tanimachikun HOTEL Kyoto Station Higashi 29!
The location is very convenient, with easy access to transportation and nearby facilities, making travel around Kyoto very easy.

I found the bed really comfy here! Room sizes are Japanese-style ie quite small for westerners, but totally adequate. The charging ports in the room by the beds are a nice touch.

This was my first trip to Japan and I stayed in Kyoto for three days and two nights. The Grand Bach was absolutely awesome and I would recommend it for anyone but especially solo travellers.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel for 3 nights. Its room was clean and well organized with modern furniture and equipment. It offers many washers and dryers as well as ice machine and microwave oven.

Excellent location a short walk to the longest street of shops and restaurants. The room.
Is very small but clean and all the facilities you need are provided.

We stayed at Hotel Amanek Kyoto and had a very good experience. The staff were super friendly, and the rooms were very clean.

Great service and lovely staff, has its own sento which was always quiet. They also gave free juice/tea. It was easy to walk to the centre and there were frequent buses right out the front.

I really enjoyed my stay at Kabin Hotel Kyoto. The design is very modern and stylish, with a cool, new-school vibe that makes the place feel fresh and comfortable right away.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was spotless and a good size by Kyoto standards, with thoughtful design throughout. We absolutely loved the shower — easily one of the best we’ve experienced!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Relatively inexpensive and gets the job done as far as a short visit to Kyoto. Very central to the station and nice location!

Very clean hotel with nice furniture in the rooms. Great value for the price.
About ten to fifteen minute walk from Kyoto Station. There is a Family Mart about three minutes away.

It's a cozy place.
Rooms are superb. The bathroom, fittings, free coffee and supliments makes you feel comfortable and enjoy your time.
I spent a lot of time at night in the Lounge and read books.

This hotel was so good for our 4 night stay in Kyoto, we decided to take one night away from Osaka and book a further 5th night here on the last day.

I didn't do too much research on Yugen Kyoto Shijo when I booked it and was pleasantly surprised at the entire hotel experience.

On our third trip back to Japan, we wanted to experience a temple stay.

My partner and I spent one night at this wonderful and historic place, and I can honestly say it was an experience beyond anything we expected.
