Great central stay in Kyoto. Highly recommend. We stayed here for 5 nights. The staff was nice and friendly. The small room was comfortable enough and the shower was divine.

Room was quite small but good enough for a couple. They have great amenities and you can get extra towels from the 1st floor by yourself.

Absolutely fantastic hotel in Kyoto. From arrival the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is very central and perfect for exploring all of the main sites.

The room is very impressive for the price. Very clean.

We had a wonderful stay in this ryokan. The lady there was very nice and helpful. I recommend this ryokan to rest after a long trip in busy japanese cities. The food was also amazing!

It is Ryokan so you should expect things to be there like in Ryokan.

Very beautiful and quiet place to stay in Kioto traditionally decorated with tatami bed and shogun doors inside the room.

I wanted to visit Amanohashidate for the exceptional view and to visit the cultural sites like Motoise Kono shrine and other local attractions. I was looking for a central hotel with good service.

I like the rooms very much. We tried both rooms 1 traditional Japanese room with tatami and 1 modern Japanese room with beds. We really like the layout of the modern room.

Muni was a really beautiful experience. Right outside the front gate is Arabica by the lake, which is beautiful by the way.

Had a great stay here. The staff were super friendly and helped us book restaurants (a must in Arashiyama since places fill up fast). Room was very clean with a nice mountain view.

Absolutely fantastic service, hospitality and food served here. The location is convenient and easily accessible from Kyoto Station as well.

Confusing website for bookings… Inadvertently booked a room that didn't include a kaiseki meal that I was really looking forward to experiencing.

Our stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station was a really lovely experience.

We had a fantastic stay at DoubleTree Kyoto Station. The property takes great care of loyal Diamond members, and we certainly appreciated the room upgrade and status recognition.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and were blown away by the aesthetic as well as the customer service of this hotel.

This was a fantastic hotel with fantastic staff. The room was very comfortable with a smart 2-floor layout. The outside tub was very enjoyable. The staff explained everything in great detail.

I really liked my stay at the hotel. The staff was cordial and tried its best, even with the linguistic barrier.

Perfectly located just opposite Toji station with literally a 5 minute rail ride to Kyoto central station. Rooms are nice, quite spacious for Japan, and the breakfast is good.

Flawless check-in, spacious clean room, thorough daily cleaning, but the real stand out is breakfast — wow.

I believe Reign Hotel is easily in the top three hotels I’ve ever stayed in especially because of its exceptional level of service.
During our stay with my family, we truly felt at home.

The location was still a close walk to the train station, but the neighborhood was pretty quiet at night. This did suit a ryokan as we were relaxing in the onsen.

The hot public bath was clean and impeccably kept. The rooms were tastefully decorated and placed together.

Great place to stay, super close to a couple of bus stops and good restaurants. Staff is amazing, super helpful, accommodating, and speak great english.

A beautiful hotel with a really great Japanese onsen. It's situated in a very convenient location, just off the main road but far enough to avoid the noise.

Granbell Hotel Kyoto strikes a balance of modern and stylish without losing the calm, traditional atmosphere people come to the city for in the first place.

Great clean rooms, spacious, kitchenette and washing machines (in our room option). Perfect for long term stays and with an infant. We liked the location — not super touristy.

Stayed here in January with my husband and 1 year old. The apartment was great for someone with a small child as it was mostly baby proof.

Everything was perfect. Prior to our arrival the communication via email was great. The day of our arrival we got there late and they waited for us and received us pleasantly.

I’m so grateful for all the lovely amenities. The rooms were so cool! I’d love to stay here longer. Water pressure was crazy high (a good thing), and sitting shower setup was so relaxing.

We really enjoyed our stay, the rooms were very spacious and they gave us a river view upon request. Service was fantastic, great English speaking staff members. Location was perfect in the Gion area.

Wow When we booked this hotel we booked 2 rooms for 4 of us and it was very reasonable. But Do not underestimate this hotel it’s fabulous Top quality rooms top quality food.

My stay at the Granvia was beautiful. The rooms, beds, pillows were so comfortable I didn't want to leave the room. Thankfully the beauty of Kyoto dragged me out!

We recently stayed 3 nights here, and loved every minute of it. The room was spacious and luxurious, with a big comfortable bed and modern elegant furnishings.

If you want a full Japanese experience, this is a hidden gem in central town, between Kyoto station and Gion district — a walking location to all touristy amenities.

I stayed overnight. The staff in the lobby was really nice.
Breakfast was not good, and I couldn't watch YouTube or Netflix on TV in my room.

The hotel was recommended by our tour guide, we travelled as a group of 12. At first, check-in was a bit cold, almost unfriendly as we were curtly advised us to step aside for other guests as our

Rooms and grounds were really, really lovely (including the hinoki bath! ) and clean, service was top notch, food was good, location was pretty good too. Couldn’t ask for more.

Kyokoyado Muromachi Yutone Ryokan is a wonderfully welcoming place that truly makes you feel at home. The rooms and common areas are very nice, clean, and tidy, with great attention to detail.

This was our favourite hotel in Japan.
The location is very central to Kyoto, but did not feel too crowded and overwhelming.

My partner and I stayed at sequence for 3 nights in October 2025 in a twin room.
We initially chose it for the amenities and value for money. The room was spacious, modern and stylish.

Good Nature Hotel is a fantastic base if you want to be in the heart of Kyoto. We stayed in one of the suites for 5 nights as 2 adults 1 child (4y).

GOOD NATURE HOTEL KYOTO is conveniently located very close to Takashimaya and within easy walking distance of both Kyoto Kawaramachi Station and Gion-Shijo Station.

Rooms are generally nice and pretty spacious for Japanese standard. Service was good in my opinion as the staff tries their best to assist me when my luggage was damaged by Yamato Transport.

I stayed at both Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Kawaramachi and the Kyoto Station branch during my trip.
