Kyoto Hotels near Mikane Shrine

They’re so nice and the room was quiet, cozy, and comfortable. The onsen on the 2nd floor is small but tattoos are okay. Traditional breakfast in a private room was perfect.

We had such a wonderful experience at Kagihei. We wish we stayed longer. What a lovely surprise to find such peace and tranquility so close to the busy Nishiki market.

I stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment at Kyoto 4 sisters. We were a group of 6 including a baby. The apartment complex is very spacious and well maintained.

We had an absolutely wonderful time here. The staff were pleasant and eager to help. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The Residence is well placed for visiting Kyoto on foot or by metro.

Location fine, short walk to stations, bus stops, Nishiki market. Restaurants and konbinis all around everywhere. Super clean, modern, warm, comfortable bed, doona, pillow. Quiet.

We found this area of Kyoto very walkable, there are so many great coffee and cafe places nearby, and also the shopping street is within 10 minutes.

Small, Intimate, and Cozy Hotel Stay!
We have made an excellent choice in staying here. Booked at the last minute late November 2025 (due to a failed no-show from a ryokan booking).

Small hotel on a quiet street about 600m from the subway. Great water pressure, comfortable beds and just large enough for 2 people and a few suitcases. Kitchen with fridge, microwave and cook top.

What a wonderful stay and experience. I've stayed in Kyoto many times, but this was the first time we decided to stay at Watazen Ryokan for a different experience from a typical hotel.

This property was wonderful and enabled me to be relaxed during my stay. Solo travel or in a group. The facility is very well located.

Stayed here for three nights in early February 2026. The hotel is central and the closest train station was a 5 minute walk away.
The room itself was modern and clean.

This place is flawless. Easily the best hotel of my Japan trip. Great location, a few minutes walk from town centre, Nishiki Market, main shopping streets and easily walkable to Gion etc.

The hotel is in an excellent location with 2 train stations and plenty of shops and restaurants close by.

This is my second time staying here. The beds are comfortable, the rooms fairly large and the place is beautifully clean. The rooms are cleaned religiously every three days — no exceptions.

Great central stay in Kyoto. Highly recommend. We stayed here for 5 nights. The staff was nice and friendly. The small room was comfortable enough and the shower was divine.

Room was quite small but good enough for a couple. They have great amenities and you can get extra towels from the 1st floor by yourself.

The hotel is nice staff very friendly we didn’t have the hotel breakfast so no comment but the coffee is free.

I’ve stayed at Richmond hotels before, so I had high expectations, and this stay didn’t disappoint! The room was very spacious, with plenty of space to work, not just a small desk for a laptop.

I was very happy with my stay here. Kyoto was towards the end of my trip and throughout the past two weeks I’ve gotten very used to tiny hotel rooms, with tiny bathroom and showers.

Location is perfect for shopping and transport. It’s in the middle of the busy shopping area with access to metro and all bus lines. Rooms are big by Japanese standards.

Check-in could only be done at 3pm sharp via a Skype call with their remote customer service team through an iPad they have at the reception.

Stayed here for 2 days and it was wonderful! We stayed in one of the bigger rooms and it had a large kitchen, a big bathroom with a washing machine and a spacious seating area!

I found the bed really comfy here! Room sizes are Japanese-style ie quite small for westerners, but totally adequate. The charging ports in the room by the beds are a nice touch.

This was my first trip to Japan and I stayed in Kyoto for three days and two nights. The Grand Bach was absolutely awesome and I would recommend it for anyone but especially solo travellers.

Excellent experience of traditional Japanese house. Clean and comfortable. Nice warm toilet seat and bidet.
Plenty of local sites within walking distance and easy access to public transport.

Lovely quiet location cetral to a number of key attactions. Supermarket just down the road. Lovely local reastuarants close by. Short walk to subway and buses.

Nice hotel in a quit neighborhood. It all looked very new, nice big beds, shower was quite small but that's normal over here. Subway and busses 5 to 10 minutes walk.

The hotel is really nice & clean. It is in a very calm neighborhood and a bit further away from any public transportation.

The room was very spacious! especially the bathroom. The room overall was well above Japanese size standards. The room was super clean, great air conditioning. The location is also perfect.

Quiet, clean and compact room with excellent blackout blinds for a good sleep. The mattress was firm and comfortable, however, I was not as pleased with the pillows.

Good location. Good facilities. The lounge has a coffee machine which is very nice. My room was wide enough that I can manage my things and I can store my luggage outside in a compartment.

Here is a Capsule hotel, so the private space is small. But there are rest space on the first floor and I could have some snacks and drinks.

The facility is so clean, well maintained, friendly staffs, the breakfast is very good, unlimited rice and toppings are plus points.

We stayed here for 4 nights in a 2 bed room. Hotel is new and a short walk from the metro station. Also walking distance to the active part of Kyoto including Gion, Kawarmarchi, and Pontocho Alley.

We stayed for 3 nights in a traditional tatami room and absolutely loved the experience we shared. The staff are extremely respectful, the amenities offered were above and beyond.

This is a great location if you want to get away but still be close to the action.
