The room had a very distinctive Kyoto charm, and the kitchen was fully equipped—it was delightful to cook and eat together with my family.

100% recommend. Walking distance to Gion, Nishiki market (both must dos), as well as Kyoto station (if you're not carrying luggage).

Jean-Georges at Shinmonzen is truly one of Kyoto’s finest dining experiences.

It’s extremely hard for accommodations at this price point to achieve proper value, but The Shinmonzen gets remarkably closer than most. Yes, the rooms are spacious and quiet and laid out really well.

Super friendly and helpful staff and fellow travelers! Conveniently located near the subway as well as some tourist spots.

This is the most exquisite small place. The atmosphere is so welcoming! The sushi chef prepares everything right there and the sushi was absolutely delicious!

We really enjoyed our stay at Campton Kiyomizu.

This is a beautiful old style hotel in the heart of the old touristy area of Kyoto. The place was huge by Japan standards. Two big bedroom and a large common living area for TV and eating.

We liked the accommodation so much that we ended up extending our stay by an extra night. A big thank you to the owner, who was incredibly helpful and took care of everything with ease.

First day when we were there the house lady is so nice, her name is chika san! She is so caring helpful and cheerful!

I used it only for cooking. The recommended paella was amazing! When it first opened, it was a little unsatisfactory, but it has improved!

There are three things that set Waterside Cottage Heron above any other place I've stayed: the room/view, the hosts, and the food.

Staff are really nice they gave us a tour at thr start. The Tatami rooms are really nice, gives the real japanese feeling. Really large. 2 toilets.

Japanese Machiya-style house is not meant for all… Comforts are on the lower side, please don't opt for this if you have issues with bending knees and sitting at floor-level…

This place is tremendous! Spacious for nine people. One bedroom (two people) downstairs and three upstairs (2x two people and 1x three people).
