Great hotel! like a 20min walk from kyoto station, a little bit up hill tho. Check in at 4pm.

Overall, I was happy with my experience with this hotel. However, there are some issues that would prevent me from returning or recommending the hotel to solo travelers in the future.

This hotel was located a 20 minute walk from the main Kyoto station…. Temples and viewing tower. Approximately 10 minutes to the main town — Gion region and old town (beautiful).

Room was comfortable, clean and inviting. The view of the skyline was enjoyable. Walkable everywhere we wanted to go and very close to the local train station.

Stayed in this hotel for three nights. Location is good. Railway station, bus stand at walking distance. Shops like lawsons nearby. Shopping malls, shops, eating places at walking distance.

The location of this hotel is honestly the best part – it’s right across from Kyoto Station, so getting around is super easy with buses, metro, and JR lines. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

The good: very friendly staff, options to have more pillows, an iron, electricity plug converters, etc. Great coffee and nice toiletry selection. Modern-looking and comfortable rooms.

Smooth, nothing much to comment. Agoda stated guests would be charged at check-in for the city tax.

Good budget hotel. Rooms are small but clean and have got everything you need. Reasonable price. There is no parking. It's just off the city. Location is not very busy.

A very good place to stay. I think we stayed 3 or 4 days and they didn’t change bed linens even though we put the sign. For the rest the accommodation was perfect.

Excellent hotel in a great location. Train stations, restaurants, bars and shops all around. Staff were very helpful and informative. They went above and beyond to help with anything we needed.

Our family of 4 Stayed in 2 rooms (with the double/twin bunkbeds). Very clean and new/modern facilities, staff was incredibly helpful and friendly.

The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, so it may be a bit difficult to reach by public transportation. However, this makes for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Welcoming staff and clean, spacious room, with laundry machine in the second flour, quiet convenient. The bus stop is right in front of the building so it is really easy to move around the city.

Surprisingly spacious Japanese style self-service inn, especially the bathroom area!

Great Japanese style Inn, Deluxe Twin room was like a mini apartment with separate rooms for dining and bathroom, very spacious. Staff were attentive and very helpful at all times. Peaceful and clean.

I absolutely loved my stay at The OneFive Kyoto Shijo. Among the three hotels I stayed at during my trip across Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo, this one was by far my favorite.

The room was very spacious! especially the bathroom. The room overall was well above Japanese size standards. The room was super clean, great air conditioning. The location is also perfect.

One of the best stay in kyoto and I would suggest to splurge little bit and book this hotel, I dont even know where to start but it was very different experience over all and I must recommend it to

Review for Kawajikaso (河鹿莊), Miyama.
We had a wonderful stay at Kawajikaso in Miyama! The traditional ryokan atmosphere made us feel so relaxed, and the hospitality was warm and welcoming.

Very good dinner and breakfast.
The room is huge. But there is a smell from the toilet maybe?
Also a bit of dust in the room.
There is elevator so no problem for the luggage.

My second visit to this amazing family-run inn. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The rooms have been cool in summer and cozy in winter, and always quiet.

One of the most memorable places in the time I was living in Japan, just because it is raw traditional and hidden gem, doing this review just to find it later when I go back.

My friend and I were wandering around Sannenzaka when we stumbed upon this place. There was a sign for Obanzai and the entrance tunnel kind of reminds me of the one Chihiro walked through.

This is the first time I've stayed here, we got the suite, the room is so clean and so much newer than the photos on the website.

This is a hidden gem. The rooms are very comfortable, and being able to have a solo room for this price is a superb value luxury.

Great spot to stay just north of Gion. Super close to the subway lines. Check in was simple and the shuttle was a nice perk. The room was good size and well stocked.

We really enjoyed our stay at Campton Kiyomizu.

This is a beautiful old style hotel in the heart of the old touristy area of Kyoto. The place was huge by Japan standards. Two big bedroom and a large common living area for TV and eating.

The rooms are clean and this hotel has some super fun amenities.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived earlier than check in, and the hotel allowed us to store our luggage. Having laundry was great.

We booked the 4th and 5th floors (double bedroom and private bath. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful! It's a great location.

Peaceful Family Base in the Heart of Kyoto.
The Room: We stayed with our two children (12 and 8) and found the space perfect.

Only thing to note is that the keys need to be picked up from reception near Kyoto station.

We stayed at Kyoto La’gent Hotel for 3 days (2 nights) during our visit to Kyoto, and it truly lived up to its 4-star reputation. The hotel exudes a sense of luxury from the moment you step inside.

Perfectly located next to Gion and just a 5-minute walk from the bridge to the city center. Convenient access to Kyoto’s main temples and attractions, either on foot or by a short bus/metro ride.

The place is lovely and new, good area, and the staff are lovely. Beds are on the firm side, but very comfortable and with good quality linen. Very happy with our choice.
