Excellent experience all round. Rooms were exactly as described. Fully air con'd. The host was veri friendly and helpful. Is there every morning and has a comprehensive check-in/out video guide.

Great location in the historic part of Kyoto. We stayed in a traditional ryokan-style accommodation and were lucky to get a room with a view of Kyoto Tower.

The hotel is like new. You get a great room at a very low price.

I used it when going to Fushimi Inari Taisha.

It is awesome. The dinner crab set id remarkable. It is too much and we felt pity that we could not eat it all. Hotel staff is very freindly and fluently speak English. Strongly recommended.

Nice traditional ryokan in a prime Arashiyama spot, steps from the Luxury Collection hotel. The property is somewhat dated, but rooms are clean and comfortable, and all facilities are fully equipped.

There were mixed reviews, I am very satisfied with their amenities, foods (got half boarding), service, quietness, old but clean. It wasn't expensive either and even guests were courteous.

Great hotel in a fantastic location. Only one block from the Kyoto train station. Beds are nice. The room is a decent size, especially for Japan.

Location: Chose REF Kyoto Hachijoguchi as the hotel was a cheap 4 star near to Kyoto station (~ 5 min walk). Nearby are two shopping malls.

Conveniently located, accessible by a short walk on flat ground from Tofukuji station.

The place was easy to find coz it's juz a walking distance from tofukuji station, room was clean & spacious with all the necessities.

We stayed here for 5 nights and loved it!
Laundry in the room was amazing. Big comfy rooms. Nice bathroom areas.

Top value, top service! No issue whatsoever staying at this hotel. The hotel is right by a very quaint river with willows lining the banks, very romantic.

Our stay at Kigusuriya couldn’t be more perfect. From the room (we booked the Japanese style room for 5 people) to the food to hospitality, we felt so spoiled and relaxed during our stay.

We are a family of 3 and had an amazing 1 night stay at Ryokan KIGUSURIYA.
This is exactly what we were looking for : more authenticity.
We were warmly welcomed by the owner.

It's a two storey Ryokan. If you arrive with luggage, you may need to carry them up to your room on 2/F. No escalator. Room was ok, overlooking the river. Same for the open air bath.

Went there May 2025. On the return trip from Miyama to Kyoto, we dropped by here for lunch. The surrounding place was peaceful.

Strategic location near bus stop, and there is also convenience store in front of the hotel. The room is clean, tidy, quiet and great view from the window.

Large family apartment with everything you may need. There is a parking slot right to the hotel and a supermaket just crossing the street. Everything was perfect and clean.

This ryokan is superb. They were very welcoming for American tourists. We stayed a full week, which is unusual for them. But we wanted to explore the Kyoto area. The meals were fantastic.

Great location, the staff was really helpful and anticipated our needs even before we could ask. Other reviews that called the staff rude but it was not the case. They were friendly and helpful.

15min drive from Hanazono Station, in the mountains. Tranquil air. Beautiful service. Delicious food.

Service was top-notch; view from the private bath was beautiful! Meals were alright — the Ryokan we visited n the outskirts of Tokyo set a high bar for us so in comparison we were a tad disappointed.

The exact ryokan experience we were hoping to get in Kyoto. Beautiful, traditional building and rooms, absolutely incredible Japanese breakfast each morning, and comfortable futons.

I stayed in the single room at Inn Kawashima for 7 nights. It’s a quiet place to rest and recharge after going out for the day.

Room: space was good enough for the 4 of us, though not much luggage space. Sleep was good, we stayed at 4th floor. Not much view to see there.

Although this is a self serving hotel, everything else is just perfect! The room is very spacious and clean. I love the fact that they have separate shower/tub, sink and toilet.

The rooms were clean and had amenities. It was within easy walking distance of the city for us. There is good security.

Very new and clean Airbnb. Has got washing machine, big fridge, stove, kettle, microwave. The only minus it's as it's not a hotel, they cant do luggage transfer service between hotels.

APA hotel is conveniently located close to the Kyoto station. The single bed room provided was small but it was not an issue since I was staying for a couple of nights only.

The rooms are kind of small. However, they are clean and the staff is friendly. The best thing is the location.

The host is very friendly, providing personalized sightseeing recommendations on hand-drawn notes that are both cute and detailed. The location is excellent! The house is clean and well-maintained!

Every staff member at Junei was extremely attentive, always very willing to help, accommodating and polite. The facilities were immaculate. Breakfast was phenomenal.

This was a truly wonderful hotel. It is located in a quiet neighborhood but very convenient to subway lines that took us everywhere.

Amazing place and service, very nice women helping you with the sukiyaki, lamb sukiyaki was amazing, very tasty and tender. Chicken curry and the japanese beef steak box were very tasty too.

We got the lamb for 2 lunch special, which comes for miso soup and white for both people. So good! It was a great meal.

The most gracious hospitality from the entire staff offered us a chance to live serenly in traditional Kyoto.

A place you can relax and enjoy time with yourself and with your loved one. You can find very high quality in every details, from interior design to the facility and small things like towels.

The receptionist was so pretty — 5 stars on everything. Kidding aside. The room was spacious, had a large bathroom, large beds, clean, and stylish.

Spacious rooms in good location. Not directly on the main street, but very close to public transport. The rooms are super clean and the staff is helpful.

Of all the hotels we stayed at, this was our favorite.

We just checked out two days ago, I loved this hotel so much, the staff is so friendly and helpful. It’s clean and cozy we didn’t wanna leave 🥲 it’s close to the kyoto station in a calm neighbourhood.
