⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.9/5 – Almost Perfect Stay at Terrace Kiyomizu.
We had a wonderful stay at Terrace Kiyomizu during our trip to Kyoto. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights.

Great hotel near many attractions, restaurants and bus lines. Staff is very nice and attentive. The room is spacious and clean.

The rooms are nice and big for sure, check out at 10 and additional fees for every minute longer is not ok for such class of hotel.

Quiet, spacious, location is great! This has been a wonderful hotel stay and I look forward to returning.

I just moved from a 4 star to this 3 star and the beds are bigger, comfier and the room is more spacious. Self check in was simple, Wi-Fi works and AC too.

Just enjoyed our 5D4N at Kyoto & we stayed at Hiz Hotel Gion Shirakawa as our base. Very charming apartment hotel.

Pleasant stay at very convenient location. It is clean and easy to check in/check out via app. We are glad to choose this hotel for our 3-night visit to kyoto:)

Perfect location, Gijón Shijo train stop is behind the corner, everything is walking distance.
There was lots of towels in the room. And a self service trolley on each floor with amenities.

This was my first trip to Japan and I stayed in Kyoto for three days and two nights. The Grand Bach was absolutely awesome and I would recommend it for anyone but especially solo travellers.

Great location — right off of a busy street but still very quiet. We loved how close it was to Nishiki Market and Gion area. The rooms are very, very small, but typical for being in Japan.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel for 3 nights. Its room was clean and well organized with modern furniture and equipment. It offers many washers and dryers as well as ice machine and microwave oven.

Excellent location a short walk to the longest street of shops and restaurants. The room.
Is very small but clean and all the facilities you need are provided.

I spent four nights at this property while visiting Kyoto and had an overall positive experience.

A smart, functional business hotel near the centre of Kyoto. Room was clean and everything worked. Breakfast was great.

About a 5 minute walk from Kyoto Station. A ton of places to eat within walking distance. A ramen place 30 seconds east of the hotel that has a long line outside the door.

I have been to many hotels in Japan, and I typically do not write reviews on hotels — but this is not your typical Japanese hotel.

We had a fantastic stay here and would choose this hotel again. The standout feature for us was the room size. It was extremely spacious—easily the largest room we’ve stayed in within Japan.

Rooms are great size and very new. Services were good with a laundry room and free breakfast (very basic though, just a cheap sandwich and coffee).

Great hotel! Simple and clean. Fancy shower facilities. Face wash, lotions downstairs free to grab. Close to main area in Kyoto. Will definitely come again!

​We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and surprisingly spacious for Japan, and the bathroom facilities were a major highlight. They provide complimentary coffee, tea and water in the lobby.

Overall great experience with the hotel. Staff provide excellent service and very welcoming. The room is clean and has all amenities. Very convenient location.

This hotel is conveniently located next to Gion and by the riverside. Lots of places to eat and shop nearby as well as entrance to the train station and bus stops.

This was one of my favorite places to stay in Japan. It was a quiet family-owned place offering ultimate hospitality. They even drove me to Kyoto station when it was time to leave.

Very nice family running a small family Inn. Would recommend to stay here if you are not sure what you want to do, the family is very helpfull.

HIDDEN GEM! The layout gives you that Japanese feeling. Bed is on the floor just like they do it. We absolutely loved it.

The building is incredible, in the nicest street, with a cute coffee place right below it. The whole area is very nice with many things to see. The rooms are gorgeous and very large.

Perfect location in the heart of Kiyomizudera, just one street away from the crowded tourist area. Easy walk to Sannenzaka, Ninenzaka, Gion, and other spots.

Very beautiful hotel located on a quiet residential street. The staff were attentive and helpful from check-in to check-out.

This place was absolutely amazing the staff at the hotel made it truly a special and memorable experience especially Saieko, they are so kind and helpful and the meal was amazing and they catered for

From the man & lady at the front desk, to the banquet hall chefs, everyone at Takao Kanko Hotel was so incredibly kind and helpful. Their hospitality is truly top level.

Room was very chill, but mattress was very hard.
I could Hear the springs when I was breathing.
Other that that nothing to Complain.

Our family booked the entire 3 rooms on the 8th floor. The reception area is small and there are racks with locks provided to leave your luggage.

After 4 days in a cage in tokyo, this apartment was god sent. Self-checkin was smooth. No problems whatsoever. Plenty of space for luggage.

Lovely little apartment style room, large bathroom with Japanese style shower and bath, included washing machine.

We stayed here in August with our family specifically looking for an authentic Japanese experience, and we were not disappointed—from the atmosphere to the food, it was exactly what we were hoping

This farmstay is the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of Japan’s citites. Sayaka and Nicolas are the perfect hosts, so kind, friendly and generous.

Clean, quiet, great hot showers, comfortable beds, not far from Iga which has a lot. Fridge in room and communal microwave, toaster, ice and hot coffee machine.

Nice stay. Generally clean and tidy, straightforward. Comfy bedding.
There’s not much around the area so driving is recommended.

This is a great location if you want to get away but still be close to the action.

We had a lovely 2 night stay. The location is fantastic, close to restaurants the nishiki markets and all public transport. The rooms are large clean and comfortable.

I booked Japanese Style room. The room is spacious. With plenty of space for our 4 luggages. The futons is very comfy.

Stay here if you want to experience culture while staying at an excellent Kyoto location. My husband and I stayed on here on our first trip to Japan in a tatami room.

Stayed here in January with my husband and 1 year old. The apartment was great for someone with a small child as it was mostly baby proof.

Stayed for one night and absolutely loved this place. The location is perfect for families—right in Kyoto and close to everything.

The guesthouse is in a perfect location – quiet, yet very central. It’s exceptionally clean and perfectly equipped.

Absolutely amazing, centrally located and affordable. Li, the owner, goes put of his way to make you feel at home. Lots of toiletries to use and laundry service.
