The place was very nice highly recommended. Very clean, a lot of amenities and close to 2 convenient stores and 1 food store.

Walking distance (10-15 minutes) from Nijo-jo Castle and subway, and 2 minutes to bus routes.

Honestly this was a gem of a find. It is on the bus route (less than a 2 minute walk) or by the subway station (3-4 minute walk maybe).

Modern look building but surprisingly being an old machiya with 100+ years history, amazing!
Good location, facilities and service. Definitely will recommend to friends who want to taste Kyoto.

This guesthouse is a over 100 years old Machiya, Japanese traditional house. So beautiful and convenient. 3 minutes to nearby subway station by foot.

I recommend this place for a stay.
It's close to shops, bus stops, and metro stations. It's a quiet area away from the tourist streets, allowing for a relaxing evening.

Tiny little place. Great location that is quiet and perfect for a couples get away while in kyoto. Lots of little hidden gems in the area to explore.

I was able to spend a relaxing time in a townhouse located in a quiet residential area despite being located in the center of the city.

This was great! The location was right by everything we wanted to do in Kyoto, but being just over the river it was a very welcome relief to come home to a quiet neighborhood.

Fantastic hotel. Very comfortable stay for us. Staff were friendly and helpful. Close to Kyoto station and bus stop.

I like the location and the place but the check-in place is not at the hotel location. It is about a ten-minute walk there. I think it is called the quest check-in service.

High quality renovation and design. You will sip your morning coffee imagining you could spend a month exploring Tokyo from such an amazing home.

Typical Japanese experience. The room is spacious, we slept on the tatames/futons which the staff makes for you. And kudos to the staff that are beyond helpful and gentle.

It was good to experience a Japanese ryokan. The room was fairly big as compared to other Japanese hotels we stayed in. The Wi-Fi was very bad in the rooms though.

Excellent accomodations within easy walking distance of Nijo Station. Do keep in mind that the Guest House is closed between noon and 5pm. The host, Tomi, is wonderful and very kind.

Tommy-san was very accommodating and always checked in to make sure everything is alright. Wish I could have stayed a few more nights but I’ll save that for another time.

Honestly though it was decent. Owner was friendly and kind. Place was very clean. The tatami was comfortable. Good location very close to Kyoto station and some good restaurants.

A beautiful traditional Japanese hotel located on a charming old street. The staff were extremely kind and attentive. The room was very clean.

Everything looks like the pictures, the service is exceptional, breakfast is also great and the rooms truly cozy and welcoming.

We stayed at this hotel in Kyoto. The location is quite far from tourists attractions. The hotel room wasn’t that clean. They had laundry which was great.
