We had the most pleasant Japanese ryokan experience, welcomed by lovely staff member — Prabin, very helpful, well mannered and friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at Kyoto Machiya Zeniyacho. The house is beautifully traditional, perfectly combining charm and comfort. The welcome was exceptional.

Staff was very helpful and accommodating. The Machiya Japanese townhouse was beautiful.

Only thing to note is that the keys need to be picked up from reception near Kyoto station.

The staff (reception) was quite helpful to us when we checked in and the location of this accommodation was very peaceful and liveable (despite the annoying sounds of cicadas).

Spacious room, comfortable queen size beds, a proper kitchen set and bathroom. They have washing machine and dryer. We had wonderful time there, definitely recommend it to other families.

It is a small hotel located in a quiet Miyazu. Non-face-to-face check-in is available and the owner responds kindly and guides you through how to check-in.

The Ryokan is located at a slightly quiet neighbourhood area. The owner is friendly and helpful.

A cozy and affordable accommodation for solo travel. Everything was clean and organised. It’s about a 10 minute walk to Kyoto Station, which was fairly convenient.

The position Is not too much good because Is in the opposite side of the Tokyo station respect to the night Life zone, but Is good too.

Nice to stay here if you want to visit arashiyama attractions. You can walk and no need by car.

Perfect location right next to the train station which you could go to Kyoto station in 20 something minutes. A small public bath is a pleasant addition.

What a great way to experience living in a Kyoto. The house was lovely and well equipped, sleeping on the tatami mats was fun and comfortable.

I stayed for a week at Gurst Hotel Saikaan Aoi, as a solo female traveler. It was very, clean, safe and comfortable as I am traveling through Japan.

If you want to sample a Japanese style hotel, this a wonderful place to stay. Very welcoming and d helpful staff, and centrally located in Nishi Maizuru.

Best stay of my Japan trip! Clean room, comfortable futon bed, the BEST Japanese breakfast in the room each morning, it was a dream to be hosted at Ryokan Yoshi Ima.

My stay in Kyoto was truly wonderful. The accommodation is simple, comfortable, and traditional. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our experience even more enjoyable.

Located right next to Daitoku-ji and many other temples, a not much touristy area, so there’s not much crowdy.

This traditional building is located in a quiet neighborhood of the city, easily accessible with public transport.

We had an amazing stay at Ryokan Kohro.

Tucked away in a quiet street, this lovely ryokan has public baths and gorgeous spacious rooms. We also had a traditional diner which consisted of 8 courses. We paired it with sake.

This is the best hotel in kyoto, rooms are very spacious. Only a train away from gion district. The beds are very comfortable and service is top notch and I loved staying here.

Very accessible as its 2 trains away from ether kyoto or osaka station. Staff were very nice and responded to chat even when we checked In late.
