If you’re looking to experience a traditional ryokan with the luxuries of modern Japan (Airco, great shower, etc) look no further. A really amazing and magical place.

There is not enough room to sing the praises of this place. The staff was attentive and forgiving (of the dumb Americans making an effort), and the food was amazing.

This ryokan is superb. They were very welcoming for American tourists. We stayed a full week, which is unusual for them. But we wanted to explore the Kyoto area. The meals were fantastic.

If you don’t mind something a little more quaint, it’s very cozy and the price is unbeatable especially for the location which is outstanding.

I just moved from a 4 star to this 3 star and the beds are bigger, comfier and the room is more spacious. Self check in was simple, Wi-Fi works and AC too.

This place was perfect for our three night stay. The room was spacious enough for all of our bags, bathroom was lovely, and the location was perfect.

When my daughter lost her key while travelling she was treated politely and sympathetically by the staff at Kyoto Earth hotel.

Beds are really comfy and spacious, nice black out curtains and clean. Small lock boxes at the entrance and they give you storage if you want to buy groceries.

Wonderful stay with our family of five here, right in Gion and the upstairs apartment was very spacious. You have view of the river from the master bedroom. Beds were comfortable.

This is a beautiful old style hotel in the heart of the old touristy area of Kyoto. The place was huge by Japan standards. Two big bedroom and a large common living area for TV and eating.
