Kyoto Hotels near Old Rissei Elementary School

Hotel has a nice entrance and reception is reached via a lift to the 2nd floor. Check in staff are friendly and helpful.
We booked a triple room, grandma, mother and teenager.

Much cleaner than other 3 star hotel. My skin is not allergic to the bed sheets at all!
The room is slightly bigger and well designed than other hotel in Kyoto.

The location is very central to Kyoto, but did not feel too crowded and overwhelming.

This is a PERFECT hotel — especially for families.

I don’t think I can say enough about our experience at MIMARU Shijo. My family and I (4 people) stayed for 8 nights.

Absolutely amazing hotel. We have just enjoyed 14 fabulous nights in one of their spacious, beautifully appointed suites on the top floor, where they even provide you with fresh pyjamas each night.

This hotel was such a great find. Excellent location & room was perfect for family of four (from Australia) with two teenagers without having to book two hotel rooms.

Great hotel at affordable rates. Maybe 20 mins walking distance to Gion and 1 min to Kyoto subway, 10 mins taxi from Kyoto station. Rooms were well appointed and immaculate.

4 nights here at the end of December 2025 thru New Years Day. Loved it for location, breakfast, bar, laundry and public bath.

This is a review from my 30 year old daughter. This was her trip of a lifetime. Its a cozy hotel on a little side street but very close to public transit.

I have to say this was my favorite stay during our trip to Japan.

Fantastic guitar! Excellent Steph 24-hour coffee machine which serves matcha hot chocolate and of course coffee. 4:00 to 10:00 p. M. They also give you a sake per night for free per person.

Fauchon Hotel Kyoto was the moment our trip truly slowed down in the best way.
After the nonstop energy of Tokyo, arriving here felt like a reset.

I stayed here, mid November for 6 nights. It was wonderful. Due to jetlag I had to check in a day late. I notified the hotel staff via email and they were very understanding and responsive.

Spacious for 4. Huge beds but they’re the traditional Japanese style so they’re more firm than my American self is used to. Convenient location to the bus station and a 20 minute walk to most other

We stayed at Hotel Amanek Kyoto and had a very good experience. The staff were super friendly, and the rooms were very clean.

Great service and lovely staff, has its own sento which was always quiet. They also gave free juice/tea. It was easy to walk to the centre and there were frequent buses right out the front.

The hotel is in s great location. It is easy get around by foot or subway.
The front desk is very helpful.
Breakfast in includes and is filling and delicious, it rotates.

A 3-star hotel that feels like 5.
Of course the service is kind and helping, but the amenities, the room, the mattress, the pillow, the private onsen-like bath, the cleanness — 10/10 on everything.

Stayed here on our recent trip to Kyoto and took the suite with the private sauna and large soaking tub. It was wonderful, private, quiet, and spacious.

This is my second time staying at Gion Elite Terrace. First time with a group of friends and, recently, my mother.

We stayed here in 2023 and my husband and I still find ourselves reminiscing about it. It was such a beautiful hotel and an unforgettable experience.

Having access to the Executive Lounge both before check-in and after check-out truly elevated the overall stay.

The good: very friendly staff, options to have more pillows, an iron, electricity plug converters, etc. Great coffee and nice toiletry selection. Modern-looking and comfortable rooms.

Smooth, nothing much to comment. Agoda stated guests would be charged at check-in for the city tax.

So clean and comfortable. Couldn't find a better location for the price. If you like shopping and restaurants this is the place. I really enjoyed my stay and did lots of walking.

7/11 is right across & tons of Family Marts around the corner. Ramen and Yoshinoya udon next to the hotel. Armani Exchange & Louis Vuitton walking distance.

Good location and within walking distance to downtown Kyoto (around 2-15 minutes), yet maintain the suburb feel, quiet at night.

I loved this hotel. The staff were very kind and provided my family and me with all the support we needed. The rooms were clean, and they offered both hot and cold drinks as complimentary services.

Had an absolutely lovely stay at this hotel! The rooms are large and clean, and the hotel itself is located very close to main streets. Would definitely recommend to everyone!

Good value, clean and refurbished small hotel. Double room on the fifth floor had a surprisingly panorama view of Kyoto cityscape.
