Kyoto Hotels near Old Rissei Elementary School

This is a very unique hotel experience. The hotel is part of a temple. It is so serene and a great way of having a peaceful rest, reflection and contemplation.

Stayed here back in February for one night and it was a phenomenal stay.

We stayed here December 2025 for 3 nights.
The highlight of our experience was definitely the room.

I spent 3 nights in March at the Hotel Yuraku Kyoyasak in a suite with the private onsen and it was genuinely one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had.

Hotel has a nice entrance and reception is reached via a lift to the 2nd floor. Check in staff are friendly and helpful.
We booked a triple room, grandma, mother and teenager.

Much cleaner than other 3 star hotel. My skin is not allergic to the bed sheets at all!
The room is slightly bigger and well designed than other hotel in Kyoto.
A bit of walk from subway station.

Apart Monday Kyoto Gojo was perfect for my 2 teens sons and myself. We had room 502, which had 2 American “full” sized beds, and huge L shaped couch that comfortably fit my 6’5” son.

We had a 2-night stay in this apartment hotel. Room was very well equipped and comfortable, also very spacious, clean and quiet. I loved the shower and the washing machine too.

Nice hotel. Well staffed, clean and friendly. Typical rooms that you would get at this pricepoint anywhere in Japan.

The staff is very nice and hospitable. The self check-in/out are easy to use and there is a self storage for baggage you can use if you are earlier then the check-in time.

Just returned from Japan and one of our stays was at The Machiya Ebisuya when we visited Kyoto. Beautiful traditional inspired hotel.

As of May 29th, the location was very convenient, with easy access to the city and nearby attractions. The transport connections were also good, making it easy to get around Kyoto.

Super nice hotel!

We had a very comfortable stay at KABIN Taka. The room was clean, minimalist, cozy, and well-maintained, making it a relaxing place to return to after a day of exploring Kyoto.

Great hotel in Kyoto. The location is excellent, with easy access to public transportation and many attractions nearby.

Absolutely fantastic hotel in Kyoto. From arrival the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is very central and perfect for exploring all of the main sites.

I enjoyed a fantastic 6 nights stay at this hotel in kyoto!

We are very happy to stay here. Would recommend friends here.
Staff are friendly and helpful especially the Ms at front desk from Korea.
Room spacious and clean.
Space well plan.

This was my second time staying at the RC Hotel, because it is truly such a lovely stay!

This hotel was one of the best surprises of our trip to Japan and truly a hidden gem in Kyoto.
The location is absolutely outstanding.

I can’t help but thinking this is the best hotel in Kyoto!

I stayed at the Tassel hotel 6 nights in September 2025.
I really liked the hotel: it’s comfortable, clean, nice and modern, with a great location to visit Kyoto and helpful staff.

Amazing hotel with lots of updated rooms and showers. Easy access to lobby and rooms with great amenities. Very clean atmosphere and friendly service!
Very clean rooms and bathrooms!

I was very happy with my stay here. Kyoto was towards the end of my trip and throughout the past two weeks I’ve gotten very used to tiny hotel rooms, with tiny bathroom and showers.

We stayed for two nights. Very convenient location-close to everything but there was not enough water given. The apartment is big but somehow there was no closet/space for cloths.

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and surprisingly spacious for Japan, and the bathroom facilities were a major highlight. They provide complimentary coffee, tea and water in the lobby.

Beautiful hotel with a perfect location. Room was clean and spacious. Only thing to be aware of is the bathroom. There are glass windows into the room.

We had a wonderful stay at Good Nature Hotel Kyoto, and it was a big part of why we enjoyed the city so much.

We are 2 couples in our 50s on a 17 day vacation in Japan. We stayed in 6 different cities & at the end we ranked this our favorite hotel! (We stayed here 4 nights.

An absolute highlight of my trip to Japan. The service was incredible, attentive and kind, with wonderful recommendations for things to do in the area. The rooms were beautiful, spotless and cozy.

The location is the best. The room is pretty large in Japan for a 5 person family. There is coin laundry on site. Overall it is very good.

Basic, quiet, modern, self-service hotel in a perfect location. One of the best showers ever!
No issues with check-out or washing machine as reported by others.

Fantastic location if you are looking to stay in the Gion area. Rooms are surprisingly spacious for a Japanese hotel and it has good amenities including a laundromat.

My family of three had a wonderful stay at Laon Inn Gion Nawate. Despite being located in the bustling Shijo district of Kyoto, the hotel room offered excellent soundproofing.

This hotel is so cute and cozy! So far, it is my absolute favourite hotel in Japan!
The Gion District is beautiful and quiet, and this hotel is a short walk from some of the main tourist attractions!

Great location, right next to the Gion district and close to a few temples, that made it easy for us to walk. Rooms were clean and as well spacious. One of the better hotels I stayed at in Japan.

There are six rooms per floor. Two face the back, one the side, three the front. We were thrilled our room faced the back, because the street in front is so busy you can hardly run across.

A little apartment with everything you need for your time in Kyoto. Includes washing machine, microwave, cooker, hairdryer and fridge freezer. Location great for the old parts of Kyoto.

All in all it was a pretty nice stay. Unfortunately there were cameras everywhere so you couldn’t really change in a room without being recorded.

Best stay I had in Japan! It is so clean, spacious and the pods are perfectly designed.

Stay here in kyoto if you can. You won't regret it.
Privileged location in one of the most convenient locations possible.

I don't know where to start on how much my husband and I loved Hotel Seiryu. From the moment we turned into the drive we felt in awe. Check-in was very smooth and our room was GORGOUS.

Pros: The rooms are very comfortable and well designed, with a small fridge included. The bathroom and shower are separated, which is really convenient.

Spacious rooms with all the amenities you’ll need — plus a fridge and a microwave! The bath was the highlight for us though! Quiet area and the rooms were nicely decorated.

Room condition was greatly good, very spacious and clean. Kitchen cutlets were nice and washing machine was perfect. Twin beds were little bit hard, but it's good.

We stayed here for 2 nights in April during cherry blossom season (2 adults, 2 children under 8) and absolutely loved it. I was initially a bit worried as there hadn’t been many recent reviews, but I

A gem of a hotel in Kyoto. The area is absolutely beautiful, with a shallow tiny river where we were greeted by a grey heron each day. The walk to subway and bus is short.

A wonderful hotel. The room was perfect, everything we needed and a lovely view over the neighbouring stream.
