Kyoto Hotels near Old Rissei Elementary School

The Minn Sanjo hotel was a perfect place to stay on our trip to Kyoto.
First, the location is excellent.

The hotel is in a super convenient location, really close to Sanjo Station.

At the heart of Kyoto Gion, the center of the center. Fully facilitated, best condition — and the overall service is one of the best!

100% loved this hotel, staff is amazing and speak great English, rooms are spacious and very clean and comfortable. The whole hotel feels brand new and we loved the service and quality provided.

But it was a lot more than we expected! Staff was nice and helpful.
They offered us complementary eco-friendly water bottles to refill at the drink station at any time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.9/5 – Almost Perfect Stay at Terrace Kiyomizu.
We had a wonderful stay at Terrace Kiyomizu during our trip to Kyoto. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights.

Love our stay here! While we did rely on buses and the subway to get around Kyoto, we actually enjoyed staying in this area.

Beautiful hotel. We had a big, bright room for an amazing price right in the heart of the city. Several subway stops nearby, and several bus routes. Many sites within a 15 or 20 minute walk.

The hotel is great and has a really great location. The room is a bit too small for 4 people but for Japanese standards it’s okay. We really wished there was a accessible table.

I just moved from a 4 star to this 3 star and the beds are bigger, comfier and the room is more spacious. Self check in was simple, Wi-Fi works and AC too.

This hotel/ryokan is a hidden gem. Beautiful decor and amenities. Wonderful staff that make one feel like family; they are exceptionally polite and helpful in every way.

We are just grabbing our taxi to Kyoto station. This was one of the most pleasurable stays I have had by far.

I am really enjoying my experience here so far. Everything is so clean, staff is so helpful.

A fabulous place to stay. The bath room and the bath tub is clean and comfortable. Also the tea and coffee is delicious.
I met three friends here, all from different countries and backgrounds.

Hotel is very clean, staff is so polite, hotel and rooms are new. Smoking area is really a lifesaver. Totally recommended!

The hotel is slightly hidden from the main street but once you get inside it is nicely arranged and modern.
Accommodations were clean and the staff were very pleasant.

We loved our stay here, the rooms were lovely and spacious compared to the places we stayed at in Tokyo and Osaka. It was quiet and within walking distance to nearby locations.

The hotel is in an excellent location in Kyoto. The room was very good and well sized. It was barely a 10 minute walk from many locations nearby. Most of all — The staff were great.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – Exceptional Stay at Rinn Gion Kenninji, Kyoto.
Our 4-night stay at Rinn Gion Kenninji was absolutely perfect and truly unforgettable.

Perfect location right in the heart of Gion. Great place to base yourself in Kyoto. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Rooms are clean and quiet but on the smaller side.

The location was right off of busy area of Gion, super convenient yet quiet. The rooms are sooo spacious with the biggest and comfiest bed!

Art Mon Zen Kyoto is as close to perfection as any hotel I’ve ever experienced.

This is the 3rd time I stayed at a Minn hotel.

We were very pleased with the room layout and amenities.

I was pleasantly surprised with the two bunk bed room in the 4th floor.

Excellent hotel. Amazing staff. Good coffee 24/7 in the lobby.

If you’re looking for a location, that’s relaxing and welcoming. That’s immersed in Japanese culture will also be extremely accommodating to travelers. This is your spot!

Perfect location in the heart of Kiyomizudera, just one street away from the crowded tourist area. Easy walk to Sannenzaka, Ninenzaka, Gion, and other spots.

I can't imagine a better place to stay in Kyoto.

This is an Amazing Hotel with an Amazing staff And service. Ils difficult to describe the ultimate level of services provided. This is the best place I stay so far.

Hands down the best place I've slept in Japan. Value for the money is extremely good. It is clean and has everything a guest needs. Highly recommend.

I stayed in this hotel wgile I stayed in kyoto.
The hotel was beautyfull and the crew were really nice and helpful!
The place was clean and really really nice.
The location was PERFECT.

Loved the bathtub!
The room was comfortable and big enough for us.
The free (great) coffee was a wonderful add on, and the common area was spacious and comfortable.

Very convenient location. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Pretty close to Gion and Nishiki market.

Beautiful B&B like hotel, very gracious host! Clean simple rooms, very comfortable and cute. I’m very glad we were able to stay.

What a special little boutique hotel. Endlessly charming and cozy.

Large and spacious room with a bit of a view. Quiet location but still within walking distance of a lot.

Phenomenal stay!

ADORABLE room set up! Everything was top notch and the bathrooms and showers were great!

What a cute little hostel! With the cutest room.
Such good location — basically in the train station.
Bathrooms were super clean and had curling irons, face steamers, and hair dryers you could use.

Excellent Ryokan at an amazing location. The staff were very helpful and eager to assist. The room was traditional tatami mat. Excellent place to enjoy the traditional Japanese experience.

The location of this place is a little outside the city center but with the metro station right next door, it wasn't a problem for us.
The check-in process seems a bit laborious at first glance but

Comfortable beds and reasonable sized room, plenty of amenities and in a good location near to old streets of Gion and close to two subway stations.

Great location in the heart of Gion so you can stroll at night the touristy spot nearby without the crowd (go to the shrine near the park it’s stunning at night).

Perfectly located next to Gion and just a 5-minute walk from the bridge to the city center. Convenient access to Kyoto’s main temples and attractions, either on foot or by a short bus/metro ride.

The place is lovely and new, good area, and the staff are lovely. Beds are on the firm side, but very comfortable and with good quality linen. Very happy with our choice.
