Hotels & Accommodations in Kyoto near Old Rissei Elementary SchoolHotel

As a family of four — 2 adults and 2 children (4 and 12) we had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The location was good on a quiet street and not too far from the Kyoto station.
Check-in.

From Gojo Station, if you’re traveling light, you can take Exit 1, which brings you directly onto the same street leading to the hotel.

I was on the female’s floor and the only negative thing I experienced was the people waking up early (around 6am) and not being very quiet whether it was with their suitcases or their friends.

Perfect cheap stay for people who want the better hostel experience.
Pods are roomy enough and beds are comfy as heck. Central location makes it easy to go to most places within a short time.

Booked the suite with private sauna, huge soaking tub, and separate living / kitchen / dining area and it was so worth it! We were excited to go back to our room at the end of each day to relax in

We had an amazing stay at Gion Elite Terrace. The room was beautiful and spotless, the location was perfect, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Everything felt luxurious and welcoming.

Park Hyatt is a great gem in the Gion district. Situated in a charming and picturesque area it was a wonderful stay for the last leg of our Japan visit.

My stay at Park Hyatt Kyoto was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived until the day I checked out, every member of the team made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.

Two adults, one teenager from Texas, USA stayed here for 3 nights in May. Best hotel room of our entire 2 week stay in Japan by far!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at STITCH Hotel in Kyoto and I’m so grateful I booked it based on other people’s reviews ~ every single positive comment turned out to be true!

Location is perhaps the best cause in choosing this hotel. Immediate access after exiting from station. There is also a convenience store just next to hotel.
Check in process was smooth.

Location is the best! Bus stops to and from Kyoto Station are just steps away. It is also walking distance to many attractions like Gion, Pontocho Alley, Kami River.

Staying at Hotel Muso was the best decision of my Japan trip. While I’ve stayed at more expensive hotels in my lifetime, I have never been treated better than the way I was at Hotel Muso.

What a totally wonderful place: great location, wonderful staff, fabulous room, brilliant service.
We arrived, we were welcomed; our room was comfortable, spotless and restful; and we left too early.

Wonderful hotel with a zen atmosphere. Fantastic amenities as the onsen which was great and the coffee corner where you could have coffee, refreshments and some snacks (all of them free of charge).

We had a wonderful stay at The Blossom Kyoto. The location was excellent just a short walk to multiple train stations, making it easy to explore Kyoto.

Everything was great about this stay.

Miru Gion was the perfect place to base ourselves for our visit to Kyoto. The location is amazing so quiet and peaceful but a short walk to food/stations and shops.

ASAI Kyoto Shijo is in a fantastic location and a great choice for exploring Kyoto. We stayed for three nights in October and would happily return anytime.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at in Japan!
Highlights:
— Chill, friendly staff.
— Room is clean, nice wooden floors, aesthetically pleasing.

Wonderful experience staying at Watazen Ryokan right from the second we stepped into the place the staff were super welcoming and the breakfast was simply amazing!

Interesting experience in the heart of Kyoto. Incredible location that makes you feel like you can go anywhere and see anything.

Great central stay in Kyoto. Highly recommend. We stayed here for 5 nights. The staff was nice and friendly. The small room was comfortable enough and the shower was divine.

Room was quite small but good enough for a couple. They have great amenities and you can get extra towels from the 1st floor by yourself.

We had a fantastic stay at MIMARU Kyoto Kawaramachi Gojo. The apartment was exceptionally clean, modern, spacious, and well-designed for families.

Location was perfect, great for exploring on foot or picking up a bus or subway, and getting to the markets and station.
Apartment was spotless, great facilities and amazing staff.

Great hotel! Simple and clean. Fancy shower facilities. Face wash, lotions downstairs free to grab. Close to main area in Kyoto. Will definitely come again!

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and surprisingly spacious for Japan, and the bathroom facilities were a major highlight. They provide complimentary coffee, tea and water in the lobby.

My husband and I had a great stay at Mitsui Garden in Kyoto. It is located right near the shopping streets, which made everything very convenient.

Amazing hotel in a fantastic location. We stayed in 5 different hotels for our stay in Japan and this was hands down our favourite.

Fabulous room at ridiculously low price. Bath/shower was particularly great. Fantastic location. Very helpful staff. Breakfast also terrific.

Had a wonderful stay at BnA Alter in Kyoto.
Our room was 501 — which featured a fantastic mural and light show by artist Mon Koutaro Ooyama.

The hotel is located just 5 minutes from Kijomizu-Gojo station (quite convenient if you come by train from Osaka) and bus stops plus metro station are nearby.

Wow this place surpassed all my expectations. The hotel is immaculate. Rooms are really nice with lots of extra details that weren't advertised.

This was my 2nd stay at Hotel Alza. This, small and intimate hotel, is quiet and convenient, with excellent access to Gion, Pontocho Alley and Sanjo station.

The Alza was excellent. Great location on the river so some rooms have gorgeous view. In the Gion district, one of the most attractive places in Kyoto.

Charming hotel, great location (next to Shinjo station, easy walking to restaurants and most central sites) very comfortable and stylish rooms.

We stayed here for our 4 nights in Kyoto on our three week tour of Japan.

Tldr, I'd stay here again.
Great location, facility, staff. Just 1 block from Hanamikoji street, Kenninji Temple. And 10 minutes tov the shopping district.

I’ve been to Kyoto numerous times and this is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed in. The location is perfect, as it is on a quiet street but still close to all the action.

Our stay at The Celestine Kyoto was a wonderful experience and one that I'd happily recommend to anyone visiting the city.

Probably the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed at, not because it’s the most expensive or necessarily the fanciest, but every detail made my stay. Absolutely incredible.

We recently stayed at Sowaka for four nights and had an excellent experience.
Our room, 209, was spacious, comfortable, and cozy. It provided a peaceful retreat after a full day of exploring Kyoto.

“Authentic luxury” Although the bedrooms are Western style, the feel is pure Kyoto. Beautifully presented breakfast.

This is a very unique hotel experience. The hotel is part of a temple. It is so serene and a great way of having a peaceful rest, reflection and contemplation.

Stayed here back in February for one night and it was a phenomenal stay.

We stayed here December 2025 for 3 nights.
The highlight of our experience was definitely the room.

I spent 3 nights in March at the Hotel Yuraku Kyoyasak in a suite with the private onsen and it was genuinely one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had.

Hotel has a nice entrance and reception is reached via a lift to the 2nd floor. Check in staff are friendly and helpful.
We booked a triple room, grandma, mother and teenager.

Much cleaner than other 3 star hotel. My skin is not allergic to the bed sheets at all!
The room is slightly bigger and well designed than other hotel in Kyoto.
A bit of walk from subway station.
