Kyoto Hotels near Old Rissei Elementary School

The hotel has a great location, close to the station, and within walking distance of many attractions. The shopping centre is just a few minutes' walk away. The hotel service was excellent.

It’s in a very popular location — right in front of the Kawa River, and within walking distance to Yasaka Shrine and Kiyomizu Temple.

We had a very comfortable stay at Kyoto Riverview House Kyoraku.
The location is one of its biggest advantages—perfectly positioned between the main station and the city center.

On arrival our host was fabulous. It’s in a great location on the canal. Walking in I was so happy with large for Japan layout & immediate feeling. Awesome to have washing machine & kitchenette.

This was my third capsule hotel (having never stayed in one before this Japan trip) and by far the best although at least one other was certainly very good too.

It was my first experience in a capsule room in Japan but everything was great. The room is always clean even the shared accommodation.

We had 4 nights at this hotel and found it very comfortable. Great location within 5 minutes of the covered market streets and Nishiki market.

Well situated: near the famous market, great restaurants in the area and not far to a metro station to get to the shrines and temples on the eastern side of Kyoto.

The Rinn Miyagawacho Grande provided amazing service from a hardworking and gracious team!

We had a great stay. At one point, we put in our laundry but didn’t realise it would take 2 hours and we had to leave for the day.

This was our favourite hotel out of the four we stayed at during our trip to Japan.

The hotel was a great choice for my five-day stay. It had everything I needed and is very well located in Gion, which made exploring the area easy and enjoyable.

The room was so big, especially for Japan! The location was great as well and the staff were super nice and helpful.
They also had a laundry machine and a dryer in the room which was niiice.

Easy to check in, elevator is small so if you have lots of bags you may have to make a few trips. Room is very spacious, on top floor so we get a bit of a view of the temples. Would stay again.

Spanning an entire floor, a large room with a large living room with large windows and a small indoor garden (and rock garden entryway) in an excellent Gion location!

The main advantage of this hotel is the location in the old parts of town, which means that you can walk to several of the attractions.

Our family enjoyed the Japanese experience. The host was charming, eccentric and always helpful.
The sleeping room is large and comfortable. The garden is peaceful and the breakfast just right.

A traditional house in the heart of Kyoto, very close to many points of interest including the Gion district and the very famous Kyomizu-dera.

This machiya (rentable thru Machiya Inns & Hotels on Booking or their site) is in a perfect location in Gion, very close to Gion-Shijo station (great for getting to fushimi inari or Nara), Pontocho,

The hotel is situated at the ehart of Gion District of Kyoto. Its also walking distance from Yasaka shrine, Minamiza theatre and Tatsumi bridge and alley.

Excellent Stay!
I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive from the moment I checked in. My room was spotlessly clean.

Wonderful stay with our family of five here, right in Gion and the upstairs apartment was very spacious. You have view of the river from the master bedroom. Beds were comfortable.

The bestest hostel I have ever stayed in my years of backpacking life!

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed!
I was supposed to stay in another place that was terrible so I found Ryokan hostel last minute and it was FANTASTIC!

It is a very traditional TingRoom in Kyoto. Everything is very beautiful and likely to be as elegant as it is expected. And it is very clean.

This was a really nice traditional Japanese home. If you're looking to experience traditional Japanese homes this is the place for you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to any other fellow travellers ☺️
Wonderfully located for exploring Gion and further afield — close to local tube stations and bus stops and

This lovely hotel is on a beautiful quiet street near the subway in Gion. We were in the room on the ground floor which had sliding doors with a pretty little garden out the window.

For the value, I would still stay here again now that I know how to handle the room/hotel issues.

The location is great as it’s in the heart of the traditional Kyoto, the Gion.

I had an excelent solo stay at the yuzuya ryokan. The location is awesome, right next to Yasaka Shrine. It is still quiet inside the ryokan, though.

This hotel was a great experience and immersive in the Japanese culture. My boyfriend and I felt the staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and kind. They went above and beyond expectations.

If you want to experience traditional Japanese room and service then book this hotel. But I recommend staying for just 1 night. I feel like the room needs some cleaning and updating.

The location, staff, atmosphere, experiences were all exceptional.
We had a sukiyaki dinner in our room one night. It was delicious and unforgettable.

Absolutely wonderful! We stayed here a few nights with our two young children and it was perfect. Incredible location, with nearby sites, restaurants, shops and accessibility.

A wonderful home that’s close to shrines and temples in Kyoto. We loved our stay here and would definitely return! Claire was a fantastic host as well.

Traditionel Japanese home, with everything in high quality, located in a lovely neighborhood. Absolutely loved every minute of our stay there.

We have a lovely time staying in Kamuroan. Even though we weren't the best house guests (coming home almost exactly at the curfew, leaving very early, being forgetful and clumsy). Ookini Okami-san!

Okami was a fabulous and generous host! We had an amazing stay and felt so welcomed and cared for.

Fantastic experience staying at this traditional ryokan just down the road from the iconic Kiyomizu Dera.

Had a super nice first ryokan experience here!

Great location,
Great property with an authentic feeling, friendly host, amazing shower.

Traditional feel. Neighborhood is quiet and quant with cute cafe next to a brooke nearby.

Without a doubt, the most beautiful place to stay in Kyoto!

This was the most beautiful experience for us here in Japan, thanks to Hiro-San who take care of every detail to make our stay pleasant as possible, very kind staff and clean hotel.
