Kyoto Hotels near Old Rissei Elementary School

Rustic meets modern. Super comfortable guesthouse for our stay in Kyoto. The house is filled with amenities and is in a quiet neighborhood.

Cute place to stay in the heart of the Historic Nishiki Market. Tons of shopping, restaurants, snacks. You name it, they got it. A++

Super easy check in and check out. The staff were kind and quiet. The beds were soooooo comfy it was one of the best sleeps in japan. Their pillow? was weirdly shaped but GREAT!

The room may be small, but the location is incredibly convenient.
Showers and toilets are spotless, and there’s a small lounge with free tea bags and hot water.

Overall, this traditional Japanese townhouse is exceptional.
The location alone is 10/10 as it’s situated perfectly balanced between the Gion district and the hustle and bustle of downtown Kyoto.

For the price, it's a good deal. Bed was comfortable. The shower bath tub was nice. The room was clean and functional. The pillows could be better as they are a bit firm.

We stayed here for 2 nights during our brief stay in Kyoto having been touring Japan from the United States.

Tiny rooms but they get the job done. Very helpful that they offer storage for luggage (didn’t realize they had this so we paid to store at the train station until check in).

If there is one thing to nitpick here, is that they give you all these amenities when you arrive at their center location and state that there wont be any in the house, but there were all of those in

Great stay! Clean place and safe location. Located in the heart of Gion, and close walk to the bus stop.

Great location 50m from Yasaka Pagoda and plenty of well known touristy streets. Lots of snack and meal options nearby. Rooms were large and well air conditioned (a must in Summer!

Great apartment hotel — rooms are big enough and very well equipped, beds are comfy, aircon is strong, everything is well stocked and super clean. Great value for money too!

Kyoto was very busy, and we were grateful to have a relaxing place to stay. The room is large, the beds comfortable, and the building is quiet. The building is unstaffed, but we don’t have any issues.

Kyoto itself is already a lovely city but this hostel definitely made my whole stay there a lot more enjoyable! Spent 3D2N here and wouldn’t mind staying here longer or coming back here again.

Fantastic location right downtown. We did not eat here at all. Went out every day. Room with a full bath was nice. Service was perfectly fine, very low-key.

A fabulous Ryoken not too far from the action in Kyoto. Old style Japanese room. Futons made up and put away each day. Stunning artificial onsens. Fabulous Japanese breakfast. Amazing staff.

I've never experienced such a wonderful air bnb before. I lived in there for around a week, it was so comfortable that I can even call it home. The cleanliness is top notch, as good as new.

I always wanted to stay at a machiya in Kyoto and Brian machiya stood up to our expectations. Its a cute little Japanese house, very close to kiyomizudera temple.

Mum and I absolutely LOVED this hotel. The beds were comfortable, rooms big (than normal for Japan standards) and the foot massager was the best after a day of long walking.

I lived here with my family in 2014 or 2015 with an unforgettable experience. The house is old (that's great! ) but the facilities are new. The location is good and also the price is so reasonable.
