Kyoto Hotels

The only highrise hotel in the nostalgia fishing town, Miyazu. It's 5 sty high to be clear.

Great value at 16, 000 to 20, 000 yen per night In Sakura season!
Stayed in the “standard king room”, honestly better than most 4 star rooms in Japan, pleasantly surprised!

Nohga surpassed our expectations and will stand out as a highlight of our Japanese holiday. Staff were flawlessly professional and accommodating from front desk, bakery and restaurant.

Our stay at NOHGA Hotel Kyoto was fantastic from start to finish. Everything was impeccable: the facilities, the comfort, and the overall atmosphere.

As a family of four — 2 adults and 2 children (4 and 12) we had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The location was good on a quiet street and not too far from the Kyoto station.
Check-in.

From Gojo Station, if you’re traveling light, you can take Exit 1, which brings you directly onto the same street leading to the hotel.

We had such a good time here. We were a little reluctant because it outside of the city, we almost where going to cancel. Really glad we didn't the train station is close by and and also the bus stop.

Quiet yet convenient location with a beautiful park in the vicinity. Room is larg6and clean. Staff are warm and sincere, especially Ms Aina Sao, a housekeeper, and Alan, a waiter of the restaurant.

Great hotel. Spacious room as we took the standard room (31m2) with separate shower, sink and toilet area. Staff was attentive, helpful and can understand English very well.

I haven’t had such an amazing experience at a hotel before. Hotel Emion may be a 3-star hotel but it feels like a 5-star hotel with 10/10 service from the staff.

All in all it was a pretty nice stay. Unfortunately there were cameras everywhere so you couldn’t really change in a room without being recorded.

Best stay I had in Japan! It is so clean, spacious and the pods are perfectly designed.

Chie is a very nice and friendly host. The girls from the staff did a perfect job and were also very kind and friendly. I would recommend the yoga and tea ceremony.

Great traditional bed and breakfast. Very clean and staff is always happy to help.
I highly recommend this place if you like your comfort in a quiet area.

This was my third capsule hotel (having never stayed in one before this Japan trip) and by far the best although at least one other was certainly very good too.

It was my first experience in a capsule room in Japan but everything was great. The room is always clean even the shared accommodation.

The guesthouse is in a perfect location – quiet, yet very central. It’s exceptionally clean and perfectly equipped.

Absolutely amazing, centrally located and affordable. Li, the owner, goes put of his way to make you feel at home. Lots of toiletries to use and laundry service.

Very nice place. Pretty afordable and in a nice and quiet residential area. Easy access to to both tram and bus.

The guesthouse is very comfortable, clean, and well maintained, feels like home. It is located in a lovely quiet neighborhood, perfect for those looking for a relaxing time away from the crowd.

Park Hyatt is a great gem in the Gion district. Situated in a charming and picturesque area it was a wonderful stay for the last leg of our Japan visit.

My stay at Park Hyatt Kyoto was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived until the day I checked out, every member of the team made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.

I was on the female’s floor and the only negative thing I experienced was the people waking up early (around 6am) and not being very quiet whether it was with their suitcases or their friends.

Perfect cheap stay for people who want the better hostel experience.
Pods are roomy enough and beds are comfy as heck. Central location makes it easy to go to most places within a short time.

Booked the suite with private sauna, huge soaking tub, and separate living / kitchen / dining area and it was so worth it! We were excited to go back to our room at the end of each day to relax in

We had an amazing stay at Gion Elite Terrace. The room was beautiful and spotless, the location was perfect, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Everything felt luxurious and welcoming.

Two adults, one teenager from Texas, USA stayed here for 3 nights in May. Best hotel room of our entire 2 week stay in Japan by far!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at STITCH Hotel in Kyoto and I’m so grateful I booked it based on other people’s reviews ~ every single positive comment turned out to be true!

We had a lovely stay at this ryokan. It felt so warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

This was my third time visiting kyoto and first time trying a ryokan booking since I

I have nothing but praise for this hotel. My friend got very sick right before we had to leave.

Very well managed hotel with gorgeous views from the rooftop bar and complimentary coffee and ice cream at their reception desk.

We had 4 nights at this hotel and found it very comfortable. Great location within 5 minutes of the covered market streets and Nishiki market.

Well situated: near the famous market, great restaurants in the area and not far to a metro station to get to the shrines and temples on the eastern side of Kyoto.

Stayed 2 nights at Miyako City Kintetsu Kyoto Station and honestly, the location is the best part, right in the station, which made everything super easy — especially arriving with luggage and

Excellent location and best base to visit all attractions in Kyoto. Caveat: you must spend 20~30 minutes and to study and understand how the Kyoto bus network works.

Location is perhaps the best cause in choosing this hotel. Immediate access after exiting from station. There is also a convenience store just next to hotel.
Check in process was smooth.

Location is the best! Bus stops to and from Kyoto Station are just steps away. It is also walking distance to many attractions like Gion, Pontocho Alley, Kami River.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel.

Spacious room, clean, near to public transportation, near to mall, near to restaurant.
Stair too narrow. Have to be really careful climbing the stairs. Good luck to those carrying huge heavy luggage.

I stayed at the Four Seasons Kyoto Hotel again because I forgot my coat when I checked out last time.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Beautiful serene rooms. Incomparable service. Every single staff member is hospitable and go above and beyond to help.

An amazing experience. Staff were super friendly and helpful, suggesting and booking restaurants etc. Beautiful western style Japanese room, comfy bed and L'occitane toiletries.

As all the previous reviews mention: this place is exceptional! Absolutely every detail has been thought of with care. We ended our two week travels of Japan here and were so happy we did.

Room was very clean and had a variety of amenities. The staff hand wrote notes in English to greet us on our way in and out. Our suite was spacious and comfortable.

An amazing stay. The location is excellent, short walk from the bamboo forest and lots of little shops including a big kimono rental chain.

The service is top notch! I booked a room but couldn't stay due to a medical emergency and had to return home early. Yu No Yado Shoei was very kind.

Ryokan like dining with Japanese public hot baths. Rooms are traditional tatami floor mats and futons. Service front desk very efficient and helpful.

Our stay at The Celestine Kyoto was a wonderful experience and one that I'd happily recommend to anyone visiting the city.

Probably the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed at, not because it’s the most expensive or necessarily the fanciest, but every detail made my stay. Absolutely incredible.

I can only recommend this guesthouse! The premises are clean, in a nice area, stylish design. Rooms are big, prices are cheap. I even met the owner, we had a nice conversation about Japan. 5 stars!

Super friendly and helpful staff and fellow travelers! Conveniently located near the subway as well as some tourist spots.

The Shinmonzen is best located in the middle of old Gion by a stream of water. The room are spacious and beautiful. It is so lovely to be surrounded with so much beauty in every corner.

A truly memorable stay at The Shinmonzen.

The room we had was quite small, but the great design overcame this issue. It was nice to have a kitchenette and washing machine. Location is brilliant and staff were fantastic. Loved it.

We were allowed to check in two hours earlier than our check-in time which was greatly appreciated after a tiring travel day. The rooms were very tidy and the service was quick and professional.

The room had a very distinctive Kyoto charm, and the kitchen was fully equipped—it was delightful to cook and eat together with my family.

100% recommend. Walking distance to Gion, Nishiki market (both must dos), as well as Kyoto station (if you're not carrying luggage).

Location, comfortable rooms, close to great Izakaya, bakeries, restaurants, parks and palaces, Kyoto Four Sisters Residence is the place to be.
We did a driving trip, travelling as a family of three

What an enjoyable stay. Before our stay all stay details and cost information was provided so there was little confusion on checkin.

Cozy, clean, and welcoming guest house in a great location.
It is located in a very convenient place. It is easy to walk to the river and Kiyomizu-dera Temple, or take a bus to Fushimi Inari Taisha.

I made Guesthouse Soi my home base during my 17 days in Japan, and it was one of the best decisions I made.

We had a fabulous stay at hokkaikan Ohanabo in Kyoto. The location can’t be beat, it is both central and quiet at the same time.

We visited this place about 13 years ago and I believe there's an old review of mine here from back then. We had a lovely stay and we finally made it back 13 years later and with our kids this time!

Great Ryokan located in the middle of the tourist district of Higashiyama (walking distance to Kodaiji, Yasaka Jinja, Ninenzaka, SannenZaka, KiyoMizuDera, etc; no need to fight the crowds on the bus!

I stayed here for almost a week and I really enjoyed my stay. It’s a family run ryokan and the family is very hospitable and friendly. They made me feel very welcome.

Our four person room was quite nice. No views from the window but that’s expected for any place inside a major city. The onset is on the sixth floor which provides a solid view out over Kyoto.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Staying one night at Ryokofuso in Kyoto was an unforgettable experience.

I stayed here in early May for two nights with their breakfast option checked. Not sure why the reviews seemed mixed but it was a lovely, clean resort.

A very tranquil vibe — the hotel is located near Amanohashidate viewpoint station and just opposite of the entrance to the Amanohashidate Viewpoint.

If not because it's fully booked, I will definitely stay in this hotel throughout my stay in Kyoto.

+ Amazing location.
+ Fantastic price.
+ Great onsen with 3 cold plunges, 3 saunas, two larger warm pools. Open almost 24/7
+ Two big lounges.
+ Rooftop.
+ In-house restaurant and free breakfast.

It was an interesting experience. For reference I’ve only stayed at one capsule hotel before.

The facility is so clean, well maintained, friendly staffs, the breakfast is very good, unlimited rice and toppings are plus points.

After more than 20 years of travel, this is my favourite hostel. I had expected to stay only 3 nights, but this hostel & the beauty of Kyoto changed my mind; I eventually stayed nearly 2 weeks!

The hostel had 3 toilets and showers per floor, plus a few in the lounge floor, so there was never the issue of having to wait to go to the toilet or take a shower.

Based on customer service alone they deserve 5 stars. I accidentally booked the wrong day, so when I showed up I actually didn’t have a room booked!

Overall a great experience, the staff was just so nice and after travelling in japan for some time its great to have a crew who speaks fluent english!

Nice chill place to stay in a very convenient location. You're really close to the station and there are a lot of conbinis around.

Conveniently located just a short 5-7 min walk from Kyoto station (There is a subway connecting the entire stretch — helps in case it rains). The hostel is clean and nice.
