Lovely hotel on the mountain great host delicious local japanese dinner and breakfast!

We had a wonderful stay in this ryokan. The lady there was very nice and helpful. I recommend this ryokan to rest after a long trip in busy japanese cities. The food was also amazing!

This is undoubtedly a gem of Kyoto. As expected from a hotel that has won design awards, it is incredibly user-friendly—so comfortable that I don’t even want to go out.

We usually book the private room for three people and have not experienced the “semi-capsule like” accommodation on the second floor. The place is very clean, modern and cozy.

I was supposed to stay in another place that was terrible so I found Ryokan hostel last minute and it was FANTASTIC!

Toni is an incredible host with excellent recommendations for the surrounding city of Kyoto. Kokonoe Machiya is a very beautifully restored Ryokan with gorgeous attention to detail.

Very nice vintage like rooms, you feel like you are living in a previous, simpler time, although all the facilities are modern and convenient.

We really loved our time at the Guesthouse Kioto, the hosts are lovely and we got a fantastic japanese breakfast too, with slight variations on multiple days.

Lovely place, one night there was some nice from nearby shop but could not hear it the second night.

It locates in a quiet neighborhood. The building is an authentic Japanese style wooden house. You can really see how Japanese lives in daily life. The staff is friendly and willing to help.

I dont find ample words to describe this extraordinarily beautiful and scenic place of Ayabe… It is a must try for everyone whi is visiting Japan.

Satoyama guesthouse is the best thing that happened to us in our holiday across 3 regions. I could not stress enough that everyone SHOULD visit Ayabe and stay with Teruyuki san and his lovely family.

Confortable (and big) beds and nice shared spaces that are well kept. Bus and train station are 5 minutes away. Although one toilet for so many people might not be ideal.

The location is near most iconic spots in Kyoto, very convenient, and the room is just perfectly comfortable after a long day of strolling around the city.

Great location, 5-10 minute walk to different locations in gion district. I understand the noise complaints, the walls are very thin.
