Malang Hotels near Taman Rekreasi Kota

I can't begin to describe how good Hotel Tugu is.
Not only is Malang the coolest city in the world, that is the complete package.

The hotel is actually a museum. The granddaughter of a 19th century Chinese sugar baron, an internationally renowned elegant lady, transformed it from her home shortly before her 100th birthday.

Clean rooms, well presented.
Desk staff very helpful and good English.
Food is excellent. Breakfast in particular is. Magnificent: very reasonable price and they have everything.

I stayed in this Hotel for my Malang Trip on December 16th to 19th 2025. Such a Good place to Stay overall.

I recently stayed at Hotel Whiz Prime Malang and overall it was a great experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Shalimar in Malang. It’s like stepping back in time, but with a modern, very comfortable twist. The room was beautiful and spacious — a good bed, a nice shower.

+ cleaning is very good, people are disgusting sometimes but the staff was quick to clean every mess very quickly, I saw some off them cleaning all the time.
+ very friendly and hardworking staff.

I liked the Bobopod! It gives you privacy in a cheap way. I had the double just for myself, I think in the smaller ones it can be quite hard to pack your stuff.

The 3D2N East Java Tour offered by this hostel was truly a great experience! Every stop was even more incredible than the last and everything was perfectly organized.

Spent 2 nights at Snooze after completing our volcano and waterfall tour. We were welcomed by lovely friendly staff!

A hotel located in the heart of Malang, close to the City Square, Kayutangan Street, Toko Oen, and right next to MOG.

Room was clean and spacious, staffs are friendly and helpful as well! Locate in Jalan Ijen, where you could find various of restaurants and local market.

We stayed here for more than 2 weeks and everything was perfect.

Stayed at Merbabu Guest House and overall had a good experience. The rooms were spacious and the bed was very comfortable, and the included breakfast was delicious.

I only spent less than 8 hours here because I was transiting from one bus schedule to the next. So far, I really enjoyed the hospitality.

Good location, not massive size room but good if organized, clean and modern, toilets big and clean regularly, staff friendly!

Review of the hostel and the 3D2N East Java tour.
Hostel: The six bed dorm room was nice with two triple bunk beds. The beds had curtains, lights and sockets.

Unfortunately our weather didn’t cooperate the best, but the tour was still amazing! It’s so nice to not have worry about anything, Just show up and see beautiful views. Our driver Nino was the best!

I stayed here for two nights during my solo trip to Malang, and I can say that it was worth the price.
The room was spacious for one, though there was only little space around the table area.

Firstly I was going there at february 2025.

I read the review before book for a night. Yes the room and what's inside is old but for the price, there is nothing to complaint. Walkable to stasiun Malang.

I recommend every body try to stay this hotel. The Old Artistic Hotel bring we to remember Javanese Culture.

So, we loved it here! We stayed for 7 days in a private room with shared bathroom. No complaints, the staff was amazing and helped us with all our questions.

We stayed in the private AC room, which had a lovely loft and window to look at the city. It was clean, cozy and comfortabele.

The 3D2N was amazing. Everything perfectly planne. Everything on time. People very nice. Don’t be afraid of the odd meals, they are good and no bad-belly here.

Lovely clean hostel, comfy beds, great location near the station and all the shops and restaurants. It has a cafe and outside sitting area.

The place is clean, the beds for girls and boys are separated, the blankets and mattresses smell fresh, the caretaker is friendly.

Really good location in the middle of the city, it's close to everywhere, just tired of getting a room on the 3rd floor up the stairs, the rest is all good for that price, choose room number 12, it's

This hotel definately exceeded my expectations. Dont be fooled by the 'guest house' this is an excellent hotel. Great for recovering after short nights for tours to Bromo / the waterfall. 10/10

Stayed for 2 nights at this guest house. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had wonderful hot shower. The whole place looked very nicely maintained.
