We recently stayed at Hotel Pelangi in Malang. The hotel itself is quite old, and unfortunately, it shows in almost every aspect. The furniture, décor, and overall interiors feel very outdated, and there is a noticeable old smell in the rooms that can be a bit off-putting. The breakfast was also disappointing—there wasn’t much variety, and the quality was far from what we expected.
The one positive aspect is the location. The hotel is within walking distance to many attractions, restaurants, and shops in Malang, which makes it extremely convenient for exploring the city. Despite the outdated facilities and lackluster breakfast, we still plan to return in the future because the location is simply unbeatable.
If you’re seeking modern amenities, luxury, or a fresh atmosphere, this hotel may not meet your expectations. However, if convenience and central access to the city are your top priorities, Hotel Pelangi can still be a practical choice. We hope that in the future the management renovates and updates the facilities to improve the overall guest experience.
