MADOR Malang Dorm Hostel

2D1N tour of Bromo and Ijen was one of the highlights of my trip. The group was amazing. Mador hostel was very organised and everything ran smoothly. Also a great cheap Warung near by! They recommended food places, welcomed me with a smile. Beds were comfortable for the short time spent there and seemed clean. Perfectly fine for a short stay and very cheap!

We had an amazing time on the 3 Day 2 Night East Java tour! The itinerary was definitely jam-packed, but everything was very well organised, allowing us to make the most of our time and see so many incredible places.
The whole trip ran smoothly from start to finish, and the team did a great job coordinating everything. Despite the early starts and busy schedule, it was a lot of fun and an unforgettable experience.
A special shout-out to our driver, Krisna, who was absolutely fantastic. He was friendly, reliable, professional, and always made sure we were comfortable throughout the journey. His positive attitude and helpfulness really enhanced the experience.
Overall, a fun, well-organised tour with breathtaking sights and excellent service. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting East Java!

We didn’t stay at the hostel but we did the 3D/2N East Java tour with them, which unfortunately was the worse activity in our 3-week trip to Indonesia. It’s a sleepless, low budget tour for people in their early 20s.
The tour was ok and well organised but the 2 homestays were really poor and basic, and the quality of the food and buffets were also greatly disappointing. You don’t see the natural blue fire but you still wake up at 11PM to climb Mt Ijen after having seen the Bromo sunrise that same day. Totally avoidable.
This tour would be acceptable if hotels and food were of better quality and the climb to Ijen was at a reasonable time.

I booked the Mount bromo and Ijen 3 day tour through Mador hostel. It was the best organised tour I have been on in Asia and the staff were lovely and super helpful!
Special shoutout to Irham, our driver for the 3 days. The tour included 3 days of very early mornings and lots of driving. Irham was helpful, accommodating, friendly and smiley at all times! He was much appreciated, along with the other drivers and tour guides :)

Review of the hostel and the 3D2N East Java tour.
Hostel: The six bed dorm room was nice with two triple bunk beds. The beds had curtains, lights and sockets. It's a good place to stay for a night or two before doing the tour to get some rest.
East Java tour: The tour of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, Mt. Bromo and Ijen was brilliant. The tour organises everything for you so you don't have to worry about any of the details. The dorm option for the first night was great and we stayed in a lovely modern dorm near Mt. Bromo. The hotel for the second was also good. All food is included, and most of it was very good. For the waterfall, bring your own water shoes/sandals if you have them as everyone in our tour group who rented on site got blisters/cuts on the back of their heels. Everything you wear will get soaked on the walk down and up. For Mt. Bromo, the morning is very easy despite the early start as you don't have to do any hiking until later in the day around 8am when you go to the crater (but this is only 30 mins each way walking). Ijen was the most difficult, with it being around 2.5 hours up (steep at the beginning) and 1.5 hours down but it was enjoyable. The tour then transfer you to central Bali or back to Malang. Overall, I would really recommend doing the East Java tour with Mador hostel as it was well organised and very social.

I had an amazing 3-day tour with Nino (Fikri) from Mador Hostel! Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. We visited waterfalls, Bromo, and Ijen, and the whole experience was unforgettable.
Nino was incredibly kind, helpful, funny, and always made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe during the trip. The transport, timing, and overall organization were excellent, especially considering how intense the itinerary can be.
The hostel atmosphere was also really nice, with friendly people and great energy. I truly recommend this tour if you want to discover East Java without stress and with amazing memories.

Unfortunately our weather didn’t cooperate the best, but the tour was still amazing! It’s so nice to not have worry about anything, Just show up and see beautiful views. Our driver Nino was the best!

I did not stay in the hostel but went to the 3d2n east java tour with them. We had an amazing experience, everything was very well organized from the first moment on. Be prepared for some short nights when going on this tour, it is very well worth it though. The price is extremely affordable given the fact that the hotels, food and even the transport to Bali is included in the price. Our driver Nino / Fikri was the perfect guide, we felt very safe with him and his good spirits are contagious. We chose the homestay package and were very happy with the hotels as they were really nice. I would definitely recommend this tour with Mador!

If you want to do the 3 day easy Java tour then you should definitely book with mador! We had the best time exploring East Java with them! Our driver Rama was so friendly and funny! The tour guides for each of the activities were amazing as well! They were so good at taking our photos, and took us to the best spots! All of the guides English was very good! The accommodation you stay in is also very comfortable and the food they serve is decent.

I did the 3 day east java tour with them and it was one of the most enjoyable experiences travelling. Special shout-out to our driver/guide Herri who was an absolute gem to have for the tour. The sights were of course exceptional and I cannot recommend this enough!

We did the East Java Tour 3D2N and it was perfect. Unfortunately, we had bad luck with the weather, but nobody can change that. Our driver Rama was super cool and always in a good mood. Everything was perfectly organised, from transport and food to accommodation. We were in the homestay group, so there were usually only 8 people. Our best organised and planned tour in Southeast Asia.

Didn’t stay here but did the oost Java tour and it was amazing! Very well organized, amazing tour guide Wayhu, also the local guides Bang Bang (Tupak Sewu), Ora (Bromo) and Adidas (Ijen) were amazing. The homestay and hotels were very good, plenty of (very good) food and they even got extra snacks! Can recommend 10/10! We loved it, thanks everyone for the great experience!

Spent some amazing 3 days discovering East Java with Mador Hostel. The group was great, the guides we had were amazing too, especially the one from the waterfalls and our driver Rama was always full of energy. The tour ran really smoothly overall!

I can’t comment on the actual hostel. But I’ve just finished the 3 days tour East Java tour with them and I can’t recommend it enough! Everything was so well organised, communication and accommodation great. Special shoutout to Prince herri our driver, who kept the vibes high with his tunes and laughs. Our local guides at every stop were also fantastic — thank you Bang bang, Rafa and addi, you all made our trip!

I had an amazing stay at this hostel. Everything was spotless and well-organized, and the staff were absolutely lovely—super friendly and always willing to help. I also booked the 3-day tour through them and it was incredible: perfectly organized, everything included, and our driver, Bondan, was a solid 10/10. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

I didn't stay at the hostel, so I'm only rating the 3D2N East Java Tour. Everything was well organised, our driver Bondan was amazing! Such a warm and informative guy. He told us many interesting things about the culture and just how locals live. The bus was comfortable enough.
I booked the dorm option and the accommodations were great, the beds were comfy, everything was clean and well kept. The food was also very good.
Be prepared for sleep depravation but it's all worth it! The views are one of the best in my life!
They also help you arrange the trip to your next destination!

Good: Staff was super helpful in helping us book the Bromo tour — offered great price as well and everything went great — totally recommend.
We booked the room just to have someplace to rest before the tour and it was great: comfy bed and clean room. Bathroom was quite clean as well, though we did not use the showers. For the price, great option.
Not so good: Can be a bit noisy if you have bad luck and the people in the bunks are making some noise, as they are right next to the rooms. There isn't a window in the room.
The location is good if you are just coming and going for the tours, but maybe would pick another area if you are planning to stay some days in Malang.
