Cheap Hotels in Malang near Alun-alun Tugu

This was my second stay at this hotel, and I still absolutely love it!
Although there are a few areas that could be improved, my overall experience was once again very enjoyable.

Stayed here for a night for mt bromo trip. The location is star of the show, its our first time in malang and the hotel is nearby the supposedly best mall in malang and we were so happy.

Whiz Prime Hotel Basuki Rahmat Malang is a gem! Perfectly located in the heart of Malang, just a 5-minute walk from Kayutangan and close to Malang City Station.

I stayed in this Hotel for my Malang Trip on December 16th to 19th 2025. Such a Good place to Stay overall.

+ cleaning is very good, people are disgusting sometimes but the staff was quick to clean every mess very quickly, I saw some off them cleaning all the time.
+ very friendly and hardworking staff.

I liked the Bobopod! It gives you privacy in a cheap way. I had the double just for myself, I think in the smaller ones it can be quite hard to pack your stuff.

I had a great stay at Snooze Hostel Malang.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Had an absolute great stay in this hostel. It's near to the train station. It has everything, including pantry and open space for resting or work.
Ample of space available in the bed area.

A wonderful place with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Mr. Rizal and Ms. Yoosi are genuinely kind people who know how to make guests feel like family.

Clean room and central location close to the train station. You can occasionally hear traffic and passing trains. The shower is spacious. Ideal for recovering after a trip to Mount Bromo or Ijen.

Had the best time on the 3 day East Java tour. Nino (Fikri) made the journey so much fun. He shared mentos and had a few extra pillows for people to use. He played good music on the journey as well.

We didn’t sleep in Mador Hostel ourselves, but joined the 3-day East-Java Tour with them.

I stayed here for two nights during my solo trip to Malang, and I can say that it was worth the price.
The room was spacious for one, though there was only little space around the table area.

Clean and quite spacious rooms. Good location, good service. Girls in front desk fast respon in helping customer.

Room was clean and spacious, staffs are friendly and helpful as well! Locate in Jalan Ijen, where you could find various of restaurants and local market.

Perfect stay! Lots of help organising tours (tours are amazing). Very kind and friendly staff! Loved the food and drinks — felt like I was eating at home!

What a great stay we had at The Shelter!
The room and common areas were spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Somehow, it reminded me of sleeping at my grandma’s house when I was a kid.

We did the 3D2N Bromo tour with Semeru hostel and it was great! Everything was well accounted for. Benni was a great driver and great guy who gave us a good time!

Lovely clean hostel, comfy beds, great location near the station and all the shops and restaurants. It has a cafe and outside sitting area.

The place is clean, the beds for girls and boys are separated, the blankets and mattresses smell fresh, the caretaker is friendly.

The room is very nice, good value for money. Staff is helpful and smiling. Location is perfect, close to railway station.

Picked this hotel because of its great value. It's in the center of Malang city but with reasonable price. Very clean, neat and good taste breakfast.

Artived early, having ridden over Mt Bromo, was hopping to becable to park and leave luggage, but they checked us in do we could have a snssck and shower before we explored, fantastic setvice.

This hotel definately exceeded my expectations. Dont be fooled by the 'guest house' this is an excellent hotel. Great for recovering after short nights for tours to Bromo / the waterfall. 10/10

Stayed for 2 nights at this guest house. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had wonderful hot shower. The whole place looked very nicely maintained.

To start, my favourite part was walking into the room and immediately smooth jazz began playing.

Best experience. Hotel is beautiful, homie and spacious. It has high ceiling and well-ventilated, the furnitures are tasteful modern vintage wood furnitures. Staffs are professional and accomplished.

We always stay in this Guest House every time we visit Malang. And each time by design we choose the rooms on the 3rd floor. Especially 301, 302 0r 303.

We are a family with one child, booked a twin bed room.
The room is very clean beyond our expectations. The room is very comfortable, we stayed here for 3 days (6-8 jun).

This is a fantastic find in Malang! The homestay is super clean, comfortable, good Aircon, nice shower, everything you need and more! We even booked a few extra nights.

I come to the hotel only for lunch with a friend, its old hotel but its still consider well maintain and clean.

The room is comfortable and clean but there are small cockroaches in the bathroom crawling around. Also when sleeping at night there are lots of random noises on AC and ceiling area.
