SPA Hotels in Kyoto

Stayed 4 nights in May at this beautiful Onsen hotel in Kyoto.
Pros: great location in Gion, lots of restaurants and beautiful shops and sights within walking distance.

We are 2 couples in our 50s on a 17 day vacation in Japan. We stayed in 6 different cities & at the end we ranked this our favorite hotel! (We stayed here 4 nights.

Leave the world behind and be transported to heaven on earth!
Gosh, this is a truly extraordinary hotel experience.

Arriving by boat sets the tone: peaceful and refined. Tatami rooms scented with cedar, a kaiseki dinner that changes with the season, and private onsen hours make it deeply relaxing.

I LOVED my stay here. The staff was so kind and always did their best to communicate with me even though I don’t speak Japanese. They even showed me the proper way to enjoy my meals.

We had an amazing experience visiting this ryokan.
Family owned and operated for 400 years/ 20 generations.

Super easy to find. Right outside the bus stop — 15/20 mins from Kyoto. We stayed one night.
Room — great view of the river, soothing sounds. Private dinning room.

Family has good vacation in Yululy, like lantern Han Chinese word「悠」, I think that means is you can start a life of leisure in here.
Yululy really make me satisfied so.

Located in Kyoto's historic Imadegawa district, this Kyomachiya townhouse offers convenient access to subways and buses.

Ayame-an was the perfect home base for our time in Kyoto! We felt centrally located to the touristy walking area and the trains to get farther afield, yet the block was super quiet and felt homey.

This place was very special. The staff was so nice and flexible, we could also check out later than usual after we arranged with them.
The place is so nice, much better than most hotels.
