This was such a lovely place to stay at! very clean and the staff was so sweet and helpful. The room was very beautifully decorated and clean (we stayed in the private room cabin).

Great place to stay overall. The hotel is easy to find and on the top floor of a high building which makes for a lovely view!

The hostel is in a very well-located area, close to the station. The rooms are very comfortable, although the breakfast could be improved.

Meticulously clean, super friendly staff, great facilities for a hostel. Breakfast was good with a selection of different breads. Close to public transport.

Tommy-san was very accommodating and always checked in to make sure everything is alright. Wish I could have stayed a few more nights but I’ll save that for another time.

Really great place staff will accommodate your needs and are happy to chat. Rooms are good, showers are very warm cant really complain at all. Tv and computers in lobby aswell!

Amazing stay, great service from the staff, and good price value. Even if it is a bit far from the historical center, it is still just a 20 min ride by bus.

Shizuya is a beautiful hotel, I loved the cosy atmosphere starting from the lobby.

I found this kind of accommodation rather often in Japan recently.
Compact and it reminds me of rubik cube somehow.  
The wall is very thin and it is not soundproof.

A perfect position very close to the sandbar & only 150m from the Bus / Train. Comfortable rooms waterfront. We ate at the restaurant which was very nice.

This was a great location with beautiful scenery and easy access to transportation to explore Kyoto! There are many different shops and restaurants lining the streets, and the staff were very helpful.

Stayed Oct 2024. A cute guesthouse with traditional tatami/futon setup. The house is only 2 rooms with a common area and kitchen.

I stayed here almost a week and it felt really homely. There are only two rooms, I had room B. At the entrance of my room there was a fish tank and 2 tanuki statues to greet me when I got back "home".

This place is just incredible. Amazing, clean, and perfectly decorated and functional space that feels like home. Common area is perfect. Yes, I said perfect.

Very clean and cozy Hostel. Its not far from Gjon but still very quiet. Would definitly recomend for everyone. The price is very fair for what you get. It was a very lovely stay❤️🍀

The best value for your money. Close to the metro station and city buses. Walking distance from Gion and Kyoto station.

Very clean, have a laundry coin, dryer coin (there is detergen in the laundry room), microwave, oven, sink, electric hot water jug, eating table area, sofa, etc. Everything you need at home.

If you want to try the traditional Japanese style, you should give this place a try. We really recommend this place. We love our stay here. Also don't forget to try their porridge for breakfast.

If you want to experience an old Ryokan, this is the best place for you. Love how it feels homy.

The inn is in the Gion preservation district full of antique shops and small restaurants. The building is a traditional Kyo-machida and the owner, Kazuhiko says it’s been an inn for 50 years.

This is a very traditional Japanese house turn in to inn.
Owner is very nice, as soon we arrive he seat us down and explains all the attraction and ways to get there easily.

Great place for two people. Walkable distance from 2 train stations. Self-check-in process is very easy and well explained. It's like a mini puzzle game.

Perfect for two people. We enjoyed our stay for four nights. The shared washing machine and microwave allowed us to not have to go out for breakfast restaurant.

A good place to stay overnight near Nishiki Market. I appreciate the clean bathroom, although the bedroom is quite small and a bit cramped.

The rooms and the shared spaces (bathroom/washroom) are exceptionally clean. I think also the location is very good.

This place is awesome. I met so many friendly and interesting people here and the common room makes it easy to meet new people if solo traveling. The facilities are great abd the beds are comfy.

Very clean place, quiet, nice staff, good Wi-Fi, comfortable futon beds. Lots of nice options to eat around and convenience stores. Only 20 min walk from the train station.

My stay in Bird Hostel was amazing. The staff is so nice and helpful! They really do everything to make you at ease. Great location, great bedrooms and bathrooms. A place where you feel good and safe.
