Cottages in Kyoto near Old Rissei Elementary SchoolCottage

Lovely place to stay, very good location and we very much appreciated the bath after a long day of walking. My husband and I wish we stayed here longer!

A great little spot, my partner and I only stayed for one night however, on the lower floor 1F (Garden suite, upper floor is the Temple Garden View Suite).

Pros: Loved this little Machiya House. Exactly like the pictures. Felt traditional and authentic. Futon was comfortable and location was pretty. Ticked off my Machiya Experience.

Pros: Great location, heating tatami floor, large bath Cons: NA.

It was so fun in a traditional Japanese home our family slept all Togther and the Wi-Fi was good also we have a famous ramen place next door.

Machiya Residence Inn, you exceeded my expectations again. Stayed at Tasokare in June. This was my 3rd stay at one of your machiya (4th for my husband).

The best accommodation of our entire trip to Japan!
This traditional machiya, more than 100 years old, offers a wonderful opportunity to experience authentic Japanese life up close.

Gion Kyuraku is a beautifully preserved traditional machiya townhouse in Kyoto’s historic Gion district.

Such a lovely home in a great location. Within easy walking distance of the historic temple district, together with it's charming shops, cafes and restaurants.

Stay at Saito’s place because you want to try out a traditional Japanese home in a historic temple district.
Walking distance to Kiyomizu-dera. Charming neighborhood with eateries and shops.

The Residence was nice and tidy. Restaurants are just about a 10 minute walk away.

Perfect location. House is clean and easy to find.
A lot of restaurants near by.
Only 5 minutes from bus stop and train station.
15min work to kyoto station.
Definitely will stay here again.

Great place to work remotely, where you can enjoy the traditional house vibes.

This is a nicely renovated 2-storey machiya on a quiet street. Downstairs there is a small kitchen, living room, bathroom, separate toilet and washing machine.

Located at the heart of Kyoto's most historic area, the cozy yet spacious Machiya offers an enhanced Japanese experience, magnifying the serene surroundings.

Place is far from kyoto Station but very close to a lot of tourist attractions. Ideal if you want to head over to the attractions early in the morning before any crowds.
Place is ideal for families.

The cleanest and the most comfortable stay i've ever had! Was here in Kyoto for our 4D3N honeymoon. Highly recommended for young couples/ people who don't mind climbing up a little bit of stairs.

We had a great experience staying here as a family of 5. The location was perfect and in the most charming neighborhood in Kyoto.

Customer service: super friendly and helpful 👍
House: unbelievably spotless and expansive and beautiful I would live there if I could 👍✨
Location: perfect for experiencing all of kyoto 👍
Overall:

Jean-Georges at Shinmonzen is truly one of Kyoto’s finest dining experiences.

It’s extremely hard for accommodations at this price point to achieve proper value, but The Shinmonzen gets remarkably closer than most. Yes, the rooms are spacious and quiet and laid out really well.

Clean, quiet, stylish in the center of Gion and everything is within walking distance. The staff was very helpful and respond via the chat almost instantly.

I had a really lovely stay here, the place feels super peaceful and traditional.
It’s in the heart of Gion however it is very quiet and private. Perfect if you want.

We just love Meguru house, my family enjoyed every minute of the 5 days at this home. Location is excellent, just steps away from bus stop, grocery store, and a short walk to the Nishiki Market.

Wow this place is an architectural dream. So well designed and the construction is gorgeous.
