SPA Hotels in Kyushu

Japanese room is nice. You will get your own toilet and shower with little bathtub. No need to share. But the shared bathroom is a must. The facilities is better in the shared bathroom.

We chose this Onsen for our stay because we wanted to use their outdoor baths to experience the autumn colors. We were still a little early for the full colors, but the maples were in full color.

👍🏾 It's within walking distance of The Rainbow Pine Forest and Karatsu Castle. Also very close to the JR Futaba Station.

A memorable and relaxing stay with attentive staff and beautiful surroundings. Our family had a truly wonderful time at Mercure Saga Karatsu Resort.

Hotel looks dated outside but internally it is brand new. Front desk were polite and helpful in making restaurant reservations and answer questions that you had.

Great location, rooms and facilities are little dated and ventilation in bathrooms not working well. Avoid breakfast as it doesn’t worth the extra price.

The ryokan itself is truly beautiful, elegant, peaceful, and full of charm.

5* for the service and incredible food. The old ladies hosting at this ryokan are so polite and so welcoming that felt like being in a Japanese movie.

This review pertains to the onsen, accessible with an onsen pass. I arrived on foot from Kurokawa, a pleasant thirty-minute walk.

This is a quick review of our stay at the end of Nov 2025.
Room: a little bit dated but clean.

The hotel arranged a room in an annex away from the main hotel. The room has much privacy with no other room attached. I could hear the sounds of the rain and the fountain.

Words dont do this place justice.
The inn is the sister property to the ryokan next door. Both are exquisitely designed and built, both the buildings and the grounds.

We stayed several days at this hostel with my husband and had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, the room was spotless, and the breakfast was delicious.

The room was just as you'd expect from a Route Inn, but the natural hot spring and the spacious, relaxing manga corner were plus points.

Comfortable modest business hotel with good sized rooms, friendly and helpful staff (albeit with limited English) and parking out the front. Good Japanese breakfast and dinners (if ordered early).

This is a great little hotel. I could find no info in English about it, and feared the worst. However, it’s new, spotless, comfortable and rooms are spacious.

We were well taken care of here! I arrived late at night with my friend and we were helped by friendly and amazing staff member, Sumisu Kumar.

In here you can see sunrise. Dinner is great. The onsen is also good. I will recommend if you have a car. The only thing is that hotel accepts group of tourists it may get crowded.

The hotel is so cosy and staff is very friendly. The dinner and breakfast are also nice. Very suitable for bringing elderly and kids there.

Had a really relaxing stay in this Ryokan. The place is in the old Ryokan Onsen Village. It’s nice to walk around the area as it’s very near to museums, the famous Beppu Hells. And other landmarks.

Great onsen ryokan to stay in.
The place is traditional but facilities are modern, the ryokan has both public bath and private bath.

It was lovely to stay here at Seiko-en. Food was authentic and the facilities including onsen were great.

You will be thrilled if you are music lover like me! Hotel was recommended by Michelin 2019 but we didn’t know it until we were about to check-in. It’s a really nice hotel.

Booked the Suisen room for 2 nights for my family (toddler).
Room is spacious and as advertised. Clean and well maintained.

About 5 min tram ride from Kagoshimachuo station, and then walk for about another 5 min. 5 min walk from the arcade so not the best location but manageable.

My friend and I were expecting some very old and bad maintained hotel, but I wouldn’t call it exactly like that.

Stayed here on New Years eve. The room was beautiful and so was the view. Onsen facilities are very nice, clean. I enjoy using the cold bath as well.

Me and my partner stayed here sometime earlier this year and we couldn't have asked for a better stay.

We stayed in Tokyu REI Hotel for 1 night in March 2025. It is conveniently located a 10-minute walk from Kumamoto castle and from Sakuramachi Bus Terminal.

Close to the bus terminal. Enjoyed the two outdoor baths and the kids' pool. We reserved a Japanese-style room where they provide turndown service and meals on our schedule.

I stayed at this hotel and was truly impressed.

I want to give a five-star review because I recently stayed here and had a wonderful experience.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this ryokan. From check-in to check-out, the host was nothing but kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, which made our experience even more special.
