3-Star Hotels in Kyushu3*

Exceptional stay all around. The location is very convenient and close to the train station, making travel easy.

The hotel’s location is kind of in-between — not too far, not too close. At first I thought it was close to the JR station and ferry terminal. However, it doesn't.

We loved the rooms, which were relatively large for Fukuoka standards. The location was convenient and quiet at night. Beds were a little on the hard side but we slept well.

A place that welcomes you with soft jazz and the scent of calm.
Spacious rooms, gentle smiles, and hearts that care.
In the middle of everything — yet peaceful like home.

Brand new onsen hotel by Dormy Inn group of companies. The interior is very stylish and classy, perfect for a short hot spring getaway without breaking the bank.

A good location — near the station and many restaurants around.
Brand new — about a year old? So its condition is neat and nice.
Standard room is tiny for 2 adults and a kid.

We stayed in Superior room 1. It became of on my favorite beachfront hotels and hope to return some day. Private, clean, steps from a secluded clean beach, service, all boxes checked.

Mesmerizing view from the hotel rooms, great food from local fresh ingredients, good service, spacious cozy rooms. A bit expensive, but worths the price.

A very charming timber house externally and internally. Our room is spacious, clean, very quiet, with large windows overlooking the courtyard.
The welcome sweet snacks on our first day was delightful.

Everything from friendly staffs, welcoming desserts, unbelievably abundant and delicious dinner and breakfast, available shared and private onsen bath to traditional wooden building with very

Staying at Daimaru Besso was a highlight of our trip.

Amazing onsen, very traditional and beautiful. Very chill and cozy area with walkable restaurants and konbinis. The onsen was large and straight out of a ghibli movie.

Very friendly staff! Especially the younger Man which speaks perfectly English. Was a real pleasure!

The room is sufficiently big for four persons. The beds are comfortable and clean. It's about 12 mins from Hakata station.

Perfect hotel. Good price and friendly staff. Clean room, bathroom, sheets, everything you need. Only thing to improve is that the pillows are hard for my liking.
Dormy Inn always a good choice.

Located right next to Oita Station, it's very convenient.
The hotel also has a public bath, which is both traditional and comfortable.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at Yamada Bessou last month; everything was perfect! Rumi and her husband were so pleasant and helpful.

Yamada Bessou.

We absolutely loved our stay at Miru Amami. Our Oceanside room was exceptional, with comfortable beds, large shower and bath, beautiful patio space and stunning views.

We had a wonderful time at Miru Amami. The place, the food and the people, every single thing together makes Miru Amami the perfect spot to relax.

Let me start with an advise; when you come to Japan go to Kyushu and stay in this hotel. My wife and I enjoy our last evening here (we stayed 5 nights) and this hotel is excellent.

This hotel is located out of nowhere but I am surprised that there were quite a few overseas tourists like us.
The building, the room, facilities and food are amazing but because of many overseas

An absolutely wonderful experience. The property was beautiful and the staff incredibly kind, gracious. The meals were fantastic.

The staff were attentive and spoke basic English. Fujimoto-san in particular was very polite and friendly. He helped us from picking us to the bus stop to the end of our trip.

I stayed for 1 night. Wish I had stayed longer. Conveniently located to all the restaurants and shopping area.

Absolutely brilliant hotel.
I went to Kagoshima in September 2023. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was extremely impressed with Hotel Gate. The staff were so friendly.

Great location. Hotel is new. All facilities are perfect fine. Recommend to stay. Close to subway. Kawabata shopping street.

Very convenient location. Just 5 minute walk from Nakasukawabata Station (Exit 7). Staff are friendly and professional. Quick check in/out. Stable internet connection.

We stayed at H2 in Nagasaki for 4 nights in December 2025 in a Smart Double Room. The room was knowingly small as we only booked a Smart Double Room.

It is such a wonderful hotel. Perfect location. Nagasaki-Unzen express bus stop is only 50m away and there are multiple bus stations within 100m. You can go anywhere by local transportation.

Warmly welcomed by the helpful staff.

Very good onsen hotel to stay in beppu, highly recommended place to enjoy both indoors and outdoors onsen privately plus great way to reset your sleeping habits if you have never tried sleeping in

Superb location. Fantastic room, private baths, great food and service. Its one of the best accommodation that we have stayed in Japan.

Probably the best hotel in Yufuin!

Went for a day onsen. Virgin onsen experience and it was enjoyable.
Very simple system, just buy a ticket from the machine and drop it into the basket on the counter and walk into the onsen.

We just used the onsen, without staying at the Ryokan. It was 800¥ per person and it was absolutely worth it. We went into the light blue open air bath which was wonderful.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Karatsu Seaside Hotel.

During our recent Kyushu trip, we spent two nights at the Seaside Karatsu Hotel. We drove from Fukuoka with a rental car. Arrival at the hotel was swift and our luggage was whisked away.

The Samana is a beautiful hotel, brought to live by wonderful staff.
Service is always an individual heart to heart, not merely a transactional relationship.

Just got back from an amazing stay at the Samana Hotel Yakushima with my family.
The room was super cozy—The beds were comfy, the view was stunning.

Unforgettable experience!
There’s a distinct retro vibe, almost like elegant 80s Japan. The hotel is clearly not new, but it feels intentional rather than neglected.

We had an unforgettable experience here recently.

Stayed there in Jan as the second location in Unzen and their facility was so much better than the last location. Their shuttle service was really great and thoughtful.

The cloudy sulfur water felt silky, leaving skin moisturized even the next day. Open until 6 pm for day trippers, which is a plus, and the lounge offers lovely forest views.

The best hotel we stayed at during our whole Japan trip in Kyushu. The room is very spacious, we had a great view of the castle and the reception were very welcoming.

Kind staff, clean and comfortable accommodation for a great price. I had a great view of Kumamoto castle from my room. The rooftop terrace was lovely to watch the sun set behind the castle grounds.

Absolutely wonderful stay here. Spotless, incredibly friendly and great service. Wonderful location and views.

Well deserved rooms and great sea view. Staff are friendly and helpful. Always pleasant to stay in Marriott properties. Remind us the design similar to Courtyard Trichy India.
