Cheap hotels in Kyushu

Lodge Kiyokawa has been one of our favorite trips so far. If you’re visiting Oita and want a peaceful escape from city life without spending too much this is such a great place to stay.

Spent a few days here, the staff was amazing and it was incredible. They got nearby hikes, saunas, fishing, games, a river you can just kick it at and relax or take a quick dip after the sauna.

We stayed at H2 in Nagasaki for 4 nights in December 2025 in a Smart Double Room. The room was knowingly small as we only booked a Smart Double Room.

It is such a wonderful hotel. Perfect location. Nagasaki-Unzen express bus stop is only 50m away and there are multiple bus stations within 100m. You can go anywhere by local transportation.

The best hotel we stayed at during our whole Japan trip in Kyushu. The room is very spacious, we had a great view of the castle and the reception were very welcoming.

Kind staff, clean and comfortable accommodation for a great price. I had a great view of Kumamoto castle from my room. The rooftop terrace was lovely to watch the sun set behind the castle grounds.

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were attentive, and kind, there were bicycles that were free to rent to get around the city.

The men’s bath & sauna are surprisingly nice for a business hotel, but the women’s area is very disappointing.

I am Korean but I will write in English to let other foreigners know of this nice hotel. This is my last day out of 4 days of visit.

1) Male front desk staff was friendly and helpful.
2) Great service.
3) Breakfast item was less but delicious. In addition, foreign staff were friendly too.
4) Great location.

Loved it! We got such a beautiful room Japanese Style room for a very reasonable price. The location is close to Beppu Station but is Also close to many great onsens so is great to commute from.

Loved every part of our stay here. The rooms are spacious and clean. The shared spaces are beautiful and functional. The personnel were fast to respond or assist with anything.

Simple, well equipped hotel. Parking garage tower next to the entrance for small fee. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and nightlife activities.

Hotel with a reasonable price, good-sized rooms and a remarkably excellent Japanese breakfast buffet; they make the food themselves every morning and they had a number of Kagoshima specialties

A very good hotel with hot springs. Friendly staff and delicious dinner. I guess the hotel owner is a fan of Gundam. There are a lot of Gundam and manga on display in the second building.

We had a few days exploring the region from here and found it had everything we needed.

5 people used the bunk bed room.

Small, comfortable rooms. Excellent, efficient and friendly Reception staff. Delicious Japanese breakfast for only Yen 500 with wonderful Kitchen staff. Small gym (Treadmill and a few weights).

Second time for me in Nagasaki, first time at Forza hotel. It's located close to Chinatown, inside the covered shopping district. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby for every meal.

Amazing hotel and great value.
We booked this hotel for two rooms for one night. We arrived a little early for check in but the staff allowed us to store our luggage until it was time.

This hotel is trying very hard to be a proper hotel in Amakusa. 5 stars for effort. Despite the old facilities, most of their single or double rooms have been nicely renovated.

Great hotel — clean good sized rooms.
Cheap.
Breakfast can be had.
Convenience store next door.
Can't ask for more on a great spot!
Amakusa is in the middle of nowhere though…
Lol.

Wonderful retro guesthouse in an old warehouse building. Host is exceptionally kind and helpful with lots of suggestions for food and activities. Highly recommended.

The best place I have stayed in my 6 week trip around Japan. Hope to meet you again so where around the globe. Cheers.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Beppu Daiiti hotel a couple of weeks ago. The staff were very nice — both receptionists and the kitchen staff at breakfast time.

The staff are kind and smart in dealing. I thank them very much, especially those who work at night. Their response is quick and efficient.

The front desk of the hotel was very enthusiasm and friendly. They introduced the check-in process very clearly.

Clean and spacious room, smelling.
Good 😊.
Very friendly staff.
Located close to the city center and tram station with plenty restaurants available.

I used it because it was very cheap and close to the port. The price was almost like that of a guest house, so I went there without expecting much, but it was much better than I expected.

This is my 4th time using it.
It's a container so you don't have to worry about the noise next door.
The quality of frozen breakfast food has improved.
I wish there were more variations.

Good hotel and experience.
Everything look like new.
Very comfort room.
Can park your car. It is close to station so is still good to visitor come by JR.
It has massage mat and micowave in your room.

Nice staff. Room really clean and it located in the nice neighbourhood.

Booked this for my wife and she can’t get over about how comfortable her whole stay was.

Very professional and prompt check-in, great location for travel and sightseeing. Room is immaculately clean, big bath and face care amenities.

JR Kyushu Hotel Nagasaki is an excellent choice for staying in Nagasaki. The hotel is very conveniently located, directly connected to Nagasaki Station, making travel easy and stress-free.

The hotel is located up a really steep and winding mountain. But it boasts really pretty views of the city and sea channel. Can be seen from the sea view rooms and the top balcony.

Awesome views, both night & day view. Located at the hill top with spectacular view of the river and city. Hotel separated into two blocks the main & annex.

This hotel is truly excellent. It is well-located—close to the Catholic church and the park, and near a shopping street; even Sihailou is nearby.

Property is located just at the foot of Glover hill within walking distance from the bus station that connects to the central train station with pretty high frequency.

This hotel is one of my favorites when I travel to Japan. The rooms are more spacious than other hotels in the area. I also appreciate the pleasant street view from the window.

Nice free drink service.
Bed is very comfortable.
High quality of amenities.
Worth the price.
My most favorite hotel out of 7 hotels that I had stayed for a trip of 8 days.

The service at this hotel is excellent. The quality of the room is very good, and it’s very spacious compared to the price per night. The location is in an arcade, close to food and shopping areas.

The room itself was elegant and well-appointed, with a tasteful decor. I slept quite comfortably during my stay. The hotel also had a pleasantly quiet atmosphere, which I appreciated.
