Our stay here was so amazing! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was delicious with great service.

We initially picked Ichinoi because it’s fully tattoo-friendly, which is rare amongst the 30 ryokan in Kurokawa Onsen. We stayed one night just before Christmas.

Nice spacious rooms with sea view! It is also very clean. There are 2 tables for sitting and drinking. Beside the bathroom there is an additional sink area. The hair dryer is very hot but weak.

Quite a big hotel, but definitely worth visit. Direct access to the beach with good surfing conditions. Amazing onsen with a sea view, good breakfast at the restaurant and very helpful staff.

We stayed in the tatami room for three nights. The hotel room is old but as clean as a Japanese hotel. The front staff were guided in English and were very polite.

I booked this hotel based on its high ratings and great deals on Agoda. First, the location is superb—close to the JR station with plenty of dining options nearby.

Very good hotel. Good services and securities. Location is just opposite the station! Good place for transportation and shopping.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, with many food options in the surrounding area, making it very convenient to find something to eat at any time.

The rooms that we booked are quite small but this is expected since it is Japan.
I had actually lost my wallet near the hotel which includes the car key that we rented.

First hotel of our trip and was lovely. The staff were incredibly helpful and the breakfast service was tasty. Bag forwarding was not a problem. All very efficient and comfortable stay.

Centrally located, only 2 minutes away from the main station and about 10 minutes away from the bus station.

We stayed 3 nights here. The location is perfect to walk to Kumamoto castle which is about 10-15 minutes at leisure.

A very convenient hotel situated near the station. The rooms are nice and cozy, and a free private outdoor bath is available on floor 3.

Took the premium room on the 3rd floor. The mountainview is ok, but it came with a private outdoor onsen attached to the room. Room was clean, bigger than usual rooms, 3 beds placed with some space.

Our experience at this Japanese hotel was nothing short of extraordinary.

Nihon no Ashitaba made my family's onsen trip exceptionally satisfying. I received pick-up service from Yufuin Station and stayed for two nights.

Good service and nice place for staying the night and enjoying the Japanese food.

I had a wonderful time in this private villa! They had less than 10 villas so you could feel the privacy and quietness.

Located near the station. Amazing onsens which are all private, so if you are too scared you wont need to worry. Dinner is really good here. Breakfast is buffet style.

It's a wonderful, cozy cottage! I stayed in a family room all to myself, so it was incredibly spacious.

All the staff is very friendly, and the amenities are also very good. Very cozy environment, excellent food and very good onsen.

I came for the Onsen and Massage. It was great and convenient, but be warned that tattoos are not allowed.

That's a very scenic place. The whole area is plastered with japanese decor details and 'easter-eggs' of small animals. Our room had a private indoor and outdoor onsen with real hot-spring water.

Our flight was delayed and we had a long day in the airport, so we’re late for the dinner.

A transcendent experience. We felt like we were the only ones staying at the property, and the rural hospitality made us feel very special.

Two things l’d like to mention :
The dinner was exceptional. One of the best dinner I’ve ever had.

We stayed for 4 nights.
The hotel is a short walk from Tenmonkan where all the bars and izakayas are located. The room was very small for 3 single beds. The space was design for 2 single beds.

Surprisingly nice. Comfortable beds, small rooms as you would expect. Great location, great amenities. Good Japanese breakfast. Take note you will need to reserve your table for breakfast.

Location. Clean. Good staff. Easy access to transport / sights — many in walking distance. Basic buffet breakfast. All this for great value for money!

Small rooms but very clean, nice TV and great location. Staff was friendly but check-in and check-out is via kiosk and you can do it totally on your own.

Beautiful environment, but some aspects didn’t meet expectations

My partner and I stayed at Miyama Sanso for two nights in late March.

The scenery of the rice fields, clear streams and the thatched roof main house is reminiscent of the original Japanese landscape.
