Cheap Hotels in Tasmania

We stayed in one of the cabins for two nights. The resort is located right across the visitor centre where you’ll have to catch a bus to go towards cradle mountain.

The location is excellent, close to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre, making it a perfect base for exploring the area.

When I first booked this hostel, it was simply because it was cheap. However, after staying for a few days, I felt so comfortable that I ended up staying for over four months.

It’s a very nice place to stay, Mo the owner is very kind and will do anything to make you feel comfortable and like at home. We’ve extended our stay since we lived it so much.

I went and got some pizza at Delray hotel last night and it was pretty good and it was honestly just a solid pizza.

Great 2 stars hotel. Rooms are clean and confortable (pillows are too big), bathrooms are super clean and the shared kitchen area has lots of space.
Only thing is the very noisy train at night.

River's Run in is such a beautiful part of Southern Tasmania. It's only about 1.2 hours drive from Hobart.

The cutest hostel! Such an amazing view and there’s a lovely resident dog! The beds are nice and big and they’re comfy, there’s private bathrooms with a toilet and a shower.

I picked blindly and excellently for my stay in Hobart. Antony is a one-man show keeping the place in tip-top shape.

Quiet retreat in the bush. We went to a wedding there and it was a great setting with good facilities. We camped in our tent.

Clean bathrooms and kitchen. Steve always goes above and beyond to help you out. Best campsite in Tasmania.

Convenient and handy location to see the sites of Port Arthur. I changed to an ensuite site at check in and the team were happy to accommodate my request.

Actually we had a pleasant stay at formby hotel. We booked a bunk bed room with shared toilets. Toilets are very clean. They clean it regularly. Worth for money.

Stayed for 1 night after getting off the Spirit of Tasmania, as it is close by & was very reasonably priced. The rooms were basic but very clean & the bed was comfortable.

Awesome stay here, central location with nice ramen spot next door, the pod was super cozy and fun to hang out in, Showers worked great and were clean and noise levels were zero.

A very pleasant two night stay, even in bad weather! Walking distance of the wharf area and little shopping centre. Good facilities and not that busy at this time of year.

Amazing place! Full of local knowledge, so helpful and kind on arrival. Amenities clean and tidy and all in good working condition. Would definitely stay here again when coming back through.

Seems a little old, but it’s very well-maintained (such as myself 😌). The view is amazing, and the ribs are even better.

I have eaten at the lodge for YEARS… new menu, new chef, new management and OMG can you taste the difference.
The LAMB CUTLETS were juicy, the roast veggies were cooked to perfection.

Kell, a charismatic Brit, was incredible. He made my entire stay memorable. Whenever I needed extra sheets, or to borrow his phone to make a call, he was there!

I would love to give 5 star to everything in Pickled Frog! The sheets and environment are extremely clean. The public area are nice and cozy.

Absolutely amazing service. We had to cancel our booking for personal reasons on the day of checking in due to technical issues, but they were very gracious and cancelled our booking for free.

What do you need to get a 5 star rating?
1. Location — this park is ideal in so many ways — close to Spirit of Tasmania, minutes walk to a great little town and in a beautiful setting on the river.

Second stay at this fantastic park. Perfect location for the Spirit crossing. Easy drive through sites which enabled us to stay hitched — big bonus.

Hubby and I had lunch here today. Service was quick and efficient. Staff were friendly. My chicken Kiev was absolutely delicious. My hubby’s Chicken Parmy was huge and he said it was awesome.

Best pub meals in the country. Cheap and cheerful rooms.

Had a great time at mowbray hotel with lovely service both at the bar and in the restaurant. Food was great and staff were even better.

Had such a great experience here! The food was absolutely delicious — everything came out fresh, full of flavour, and really well presented. You can tell a lot of care goes into the menu.

Very friendly host, and a satisfactory sleeping pod. It was a bit dirty with crumbs and a dried orange peel in the pod itself but the bed and linens appeared to be very clean.

Chris was a good host (his boss should give a pay raise).

It's a good place to crash if you are on a budget. The rooms are not great, but you meet some interesting people in the dining, lounge and rec areas.

Stayed here for two nights, room was tidy, comfortable nights sleep, wash areas cleaned daily and had no issues. Lawrence on reception was very helpful and informative.

Stop over for one night whilst visiting Strahan, room was clean. Plenty of room for a family and all the amenities required to make a comfortable stay.

Strahan Backpackers is a hidden gem. Tucked away in a quiet, wooded corner of town, along a trickling stream with a resident platypus, it is a peaceful place to spend a few days.

The staff there are so friendly. Jeff was always there if we need help. He also told us the spot to view platypus.
Also, it is the cleanest the backpackers’ stay I’ve ever been.
