Tamar Valley Hotels

Brilliant Hotel. Great Location. Lovely & Helpful Staff. Good size rooms with modern feel and super bathrooms. Beds very comfortable.

We are booked in just for the one night on a work trip.

The actual hotel is lovely; beautiful facilities and the rooms are delightful. Breakfast was very disappointing even though we paid a lot for it. Out of a table of 7, no one really enjoyed their meal.

We enjoyed a 3 night stay in a silo room. The hotel runs like a well oiled machine attention to detail is next level. The room was very comfortable with everything you need.

We had a two night stay for a special occasion and were not disappointed. Located above Mudbar and on the river it was the perfect end to our holiday to wind down before heading home.

The accommodation was wonderful, we had a river view, the room was very spacious & very clean. The staff at the front desk up to the house keeping staff were super friendly & helpful.

Friendly welcome, quaint little rooms that have everything one needs. Comfortable bed, great shower. Quiet night after traffic noise dies down. Would stay again.

Lovely old hotel in Launceston. Room was generously sized and the bed was comfortable. Check in was quick and simple. Off street parking was available (and ample).

I'm not sure where these recent bad reviews are from.
We come here every year and if anything, the food is better than last year.

Rosevears Hotel, Tasmania.
A lovely place to stay 20 minutes north of Launceston. Multiple accommodation options for all budgets. Friends staff and very clean rooms.

King room with small balcony was comfortable, clean and spacious enough for an overnight stay. And so handy to have free car parking just outside reception entrance.

Is this a good hotel? Sure. Facilities are modern, the building is clean and tidy and the service is good. It is… at best, a quality beige experience.

Great Location and Service. I will be booking a Deluxe Room next time though as the beds are much more comfortable. The standard room bed was too hard for our liking.

The 2 bedroom executive suite is actually not executive quality. The suite 219 we were allocated was dated. Only ensuite and bathroom were new looking. Carpet was dirty and not flat.

It's our first time to visit Launceston. We were glad we found Hideaway on George. It's a quaint, safe, quiet and clean place. The room is just right. We got all We need.

Great central location set back from the street with parking, close to restaurants and shops. Check-in was friendly, fast and easy.

Beautiful quiet camp ground. Get one of the spots along the side for nice private secluded grounds. Laundry and toilets are really clean.

Very comfortable, functional, clean accommodation embedded within attractive landscaped grounds.

An absolutely wonderful stay! The reception staff was incredibly kind and welcoming.

An amazing boutique hotel with beautiful, quiet rooms and charming Victorian-style décor. The rooms were peaceful, elegant, and full of character. A truly relaxing and memorable stay.

The rooms are good and big enough. The entire cabin was fully cleaned, and you don't have to worry about cooking as they have all the utensils.

We had an overnight stay with a late check in which was seem less. All was done over the phone and Annette was very kind in turning on lights and air conditioning prior to our late arrival.

For a hotel of this size it was remarkably quiet (you can't blame the hotel for a guest deciding to sing in the corridor). Our room was very spacious and the bed super comfortable.

Over the past eight stays at this hotel the service has always been consistently excellent. The front desk staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

We had a lovely stay at the Auldington Hotel. Close to the City centre and had no issue walking to and from the hotel. Didnt have any issues with the noise and the room was very comfortable.

I met with James the manager today at the property. James is crearly passionate about looking after his guests and is keen to attract bisiness travellers. The property was very clean and tidy.

Tim was a superb host. He gave us so much help and information. Pointed us in the right direction every single time.

We stayed in Febraury 2026. An old hotel that been parially renovated, it is well located, with free off street parking. The rooms are spacious and clean.

An older, but rather grand looking building. Used to be a former Grammer school I understand. We loved the old World charm of the building & the proximity to town & free parking.

I have stayed here a few times before. On short notice, I needed some accommodation, due to husbands urgent surgery and preferred to stay here again.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel.

Room; very comfortable bed, clean small shower/toilet area. Coffee/Tea making supplies.
Location; Easy short walk to cafes & restaurants further along Brisbane Street.
Breakfast; Excellent!

I would absolutely stay at Change Overnight again. In fact I could quite happily live there. The apartment has everything you could possibly need for a short or long stay.

Great central location close to shops and restaurants. There is no front desk so everything was sent to us in advance and accessing the hotel and room was fast and easy.

Had the pleasure of celebrating my 60th at Sporties in the function room with family and friends.
It was a fantastic night with brilliant service and the platters drinks and cocktails were excellent.

Last night my family and I came for Dinner to celebrate my Birthday.

After a long training session, we took the team for a couple of beers in the beer garden.

We booked the function room for a 60th birthday party, the staff, venue and catering was fabulous and a great time was had by all guests.

Decent but other guests can be a bit noisy when leaving.

Clean comfortable with all you need but a tad noisy.

A great hotel! Freshly renovated as it smelt super clean and nice. The rooms are stunning, even though we had a room facing a wall there was still ample natural light, lovely bathroom.

Really nice additional to the Colonial Hotel. Great welcoming staff (especially the owner who was superb!

We really enjoyed this accommodation. It was super fun the way it was styled and made you feel like it was from the Tudor times! The rooms were spacious and the staff friendly.

Stayed at Leisure Inn Penny Royal during our Tasmania trip and found it to be a good base for exploring Launceston and the surrounding attractions.

Stayed here for one night on our Tassie trip, George Town itself has limited accommodation but is well worth the visit, great history and scenery, it was very windy when we were there which limited

Stayed for two nights. The rooms are small holiday style bungalows. Each has its own parking space. Lovely view to the front of the River Tamar. Kettle/cuttlery/plates in the room. Wi-Fi was good.

We made a last minute booking here as we like the location opposite City Park. I’m Accor gold so we got an upgrade to a nice park view room on the top floor.

I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. Staff in all areas of the hotel were friendly and accommodating. The room was on the smaller size but still very comfortable and clean.
