Just had our accommodation cancelled by the park as new cabins won’t be ready for our trip in September. Left high and dry with no other accommodation available. Why take bookings so far in advance when there is a chance they won’t be ready? Poor form and they say we hope to see you again soon……ha!

Staying in one of the cabins which is nicely appointed and we arrived with the fire on. Couldn’t ask for more xx.

We had a great time there, Staffs has been great and friendly (Thank you to every staff member there and Mark for making us feel welcome) We have booked Power site, Nice Hot Shower, 2 Kitchens and each kitchen got 2 side of cooking area with main essential, ovens & BBQs. Walking distance to Craddle Mountain Visitor Centre. if you visit here in summer bring Insect Repellents to manage March Flies situation as it going to annoy you every moment outdoor 🤣 If we come back to Craddle Mountain we definitely will stay here.

Amazing place with adequate ammnities to make your trip as comfortable as possible.

The cost is outrageous. Most expensive camp site in Australia. $82 per night for a powered site. They have a complete monopoly. The park itself is really nice with a great camp kitchen but they have to be a bit reasonable and not capitalise on the location to that extent.

Extremely natural. Loving the wildlife. Staff are extremely friendly. Great place to stay.

Fantastic segregated and private campsites — lots of different shapes and sizes. The ladies at reception are so friendly and helpful — they let us checkout a few sites to make sure we could fit our setup. The shop is very well stocked including a coffee machine which is a rare treat. There are no other food facilities other than what is available at the visitors centre cafe and hotels so come well prepared food wise and expect it to get cold at night. Showers are timed but that is to be expected in a remote location — it’s a bit of a walk to the showers and they are fairly old but adequate. The camp kitchen area is like a lodge and has pizza ovens and bbqs and a fireplace as well as the usual items — staying there is a great experience.

Quiet, beautiful bush setting. Clean amenities and camp kitchen. Walking distance to Cradle Mountain Information Centre. Wildlife abounds. Perfect.

Loved our time here. Lovely quiet spot with lots of space for our 19” foot van. Very private and even give you your own picnic table! A great place to stay while visiting Cradle Mountain.

Comfortable cabins, wonderful open fire and BBQ facilities.

Friendly staff at Reception, amenities block is awesome and noticed the fireplace in the camp kitchen, very private sites, hopefully fine weather so we can explore tomorrow.

Nice and affordable accomodation… wide range of price choices for backpacker to family trip. The cabins are equiped with good heating and insulation system… booking in advance for the holiday season… bring a drink water stock or buy at the local…

Nice place to stay while exploring the area. Room heaters were definitely a plus.

It is like a cabin in the forest, the environment is very beautiful, public bathrooms and kitchens are separated from the room, a few steps to the road, the kitchen also has a fireplace for heating. We checked in at the beginning of June, heating and hot water are very enough, but after all, Australia's precious water resources, bathing or speed solution for the best, although the room is a bit small, but as a short stay has been very enough.

An expensive caravan park they totally have the market cornered up there amenities were clean, communal kitchen bbq etc. Was good. But remember to take a torch with you if you use facilities once it’s dark & your in a space little further out, its def a nice bush camp.

The best things are location to the National Parks office (shuttle buses to Dove Lake) and the camp kitchen. For $47 per night for 2 people on an unpowered tent site we were hoping for gold taps and a spa. Alas it was not to be. Had to be choosy which shower to use as some were pathetic, the road in is very potholed that you must weave about to try and avoid them. Some hotplates were good in the kitchen, others were really slow to heat up and so many people tried to use one of the toasters which was broken I finally handed it in.

Stayed here for two nights while travelling around Tasmania on a bicycle. Stayed in a non powered site near the camp kitchen. Two large fire places dominate in room with electric BBQS and stove tops are available to use. Also outdoor BBQS are there to use. Facilities are clean and free as well as coin operated laundry facilities. The only downside is that the park is on dam and rain water so you need to boil all water and shower and laundry water can be in brown colour if there us a lot of rain. Camp reception has a store to buy supplies from as well as the Information/Cafe across the road. When I stayed here, I poured with rain so I didn't do any walking but it can get extremely busy here so book ahead. Over a great place to stay, even though it was a little pricey.

Individual camps are 'pocketed' within scrub so it feels a lot more private than the usual camp-site. Good cooking and showering facilities but a little pricey. Watch out for possums and wallabies raiding your site, keep all food locked in the car.

The room is large and comfortable, with separate drinking water but just in the kitchen sink. Bathroom water some color, mind the bath will be more trouble.

We stayed in a cabin for 5 people. The cabin is well equipped. We loved the wood-burner, especially after a bushwalk all day in the cold :-) We also liked the common kitchen with fireplace and inside BBQ. I really recommend this place.

Very bad experience for us. We booked the “deluxe spa cabin” for 1 night, expecting a luxurious experience for $350.00 per night but it was far from that. The “deluxe spa” was a small spa bath which filled up with brown water, so bad you couldn’t see the bottom of the bath! The spa bubbles barley even worked and the water left us feeling unwell. There was no drinking water anywhere in the cabin, all unfiltered and brown. All cooking appliances were very old. The website said there was free Wi-Fi and staff gave us a password only for us to find out that the Wi-Fi didn’t even reach our cabin, you could only use it standing in the reception area. To top it off they money came out taking an extra 40.00 with no explanation, we have rang but haven’t received a refund as of yet. Very disappointing!

For $350 plus and extra 39.65 fee I got charged that wasnt told about I got 1 night in the spa cottage expecting it to be very nice. The spa was actually a bath and when I filled it up the water comes out so brown you cant see the bottom. Not to mention no Wi-Fi in the cottage when it says online it does have it. The staff where very nice. But for what you pay the room is a dump and ive stayed in nicer cabins that where 150 per night.

Obviously a captive market up there. Probably one of the most expensive camping places on our trip for the worst facilities. Be aware that there is no hot water and the drinking water is unfiltered and so needs to be boiled. There is also very limited cooking space for the number of people that are there. One part of your journey that you might want to consider spending extra and staying in the lodge or a cabin. Cradle mountain is lovely and worth the visit, just don't stay here.

A great base for exploring Cradle Mountain. The basic 2 bedroom cabins were clean and warm. The only reason I won’t give 5 stars is that they were insanely overpriced — more than $250 for one night in a relatively basic cabin! Would’ve loved to have stayed longer, but we just couldn’t afford it.

It’s very close to visitor centre where you will need to buy your pass / take shuttle bus there, so perfect location. Toilets and showers are clean but wish there’s heater inside, and the shower area is a bit dark and I can’t find any light switch. Lucky I had my shower when there’s still some daylight. I stayed in powered site which has a bit of distance from the amenities block, they want to keep the natural environment so there’s bushes around you unlike the caravan park in towns. Therefore you can get lost easily, make sure you have torch and know which way to go back.

Love it here! Such a natural caravan park. It can also house backpackers, large groups and families. Sooo affordable to, heaps of wildlife around to. The visitors Center is just across the road.

Except for the rain and cold it was still a great experience walking around. I will be back to finish the job. Must also say lovely people in all positions of jobs here, thank you.

Awesome park tucked away in natural bushland. Very comfy cabin. There for work but we’ll set up for camping or cabins. Well stocked Reception & very helpful staff.

Nice environment in close proximity with the beautiful scenic walks. Though I'd personally prefer more room.

Too expensive, small dorm rooms, u comfortable bed, extremely noisy when people are around the dorms. Great heaters in kitchen and dorms, clean, nice location.

Stayed one night on powered site. Nice small secluded sites, but if a rabbit warren trying to find your way around, especially at night, good camp kitchen and plenty wood supplied to get the log fires going. Location easy walking to info. Centre and bus stops

Great place. The bathroom and shower room are very clean. And lucky we saw snow there. When we woke up, everywhere became white. Very beautiful ~ And office sell everything you need!

We stayed here in our camper trailer. Clean facilities and a really cool camp kitchen/recreational area that includes two nice big fireplaces to warm up by.

Close to Cradle Mountain, we live in a small cabin, equipment is not bad, because there is no network and television on the mountain, you can rent PS 4 games or DVDs, the same day just met the beginning of snow, the morning and see the baby kangaroo, a great experience.

Stayed in 6 bed cabin, plenty of room for 2 of us but would be crowded with more. Great location for everything at Cradle Mtn and communal kitchen area was exceptional with both indoor and outdoor BBQs including pizza ovens and huge fireplaces.

I love that it was so close to everything. (Walks & busses) Staff was lovely. We stayed in a cabin with a Spa which was worth the extra $20. However the main beds where hard as rocks and there was no sheets for the single bunk bed.

Convenient location Pricey, but only during the summer school holidays, which is to be expected The decor of the facilities is simply lovely, all wooden timbers and stone walls. The communal kitchen has a fireplace, stove, microwave, kettle and toaster all available for use. The communal bathrooms, although similarly aesthetically pleasing, are absolutely frigid. The showers do have hot water, but they also have a 5 min timer. Lots of wildlife around, and I guarantee that if you look around a little you will get to see a pademelon (very similar to a wallaby) and plenty of bird life (particularly blue wrens)

It's a nice place to experience adventure.

Rustic little wooden cabins. Wonderful place to stay — a 2 min walk to the bus depot that takes you to Cradle Mountain. Great place to stay if you are in a group and people want to return to their cabin at different times after their walk.

Budget accommodation, no reception except Telstra.

A good range of cabins to choose from and set in beautiful bushland makes this a good place to stay for a few nights or longer.

Dust and rocks. So many rocks that I haven't been able to setup the tent properly. Very small sites for a large family tent. $172 for 3 nights for an unpowered site, and at this price you do not have drinkable water, you have to boil it first… And of course no mention of it on their website! Now I understand why you need to pay in full when you book, otherwise you run away! One of the Worst campsite ever! And I have been camping everywhere in the world over the last 30 years! First day in Tasmania …

Good place, close to hiking for the cradle mountain region.

Loved the closeness to the shuttle bus pick up information centre, however did not think it was value for money for our powered site. They should think about putting cement blocks in so people aren't having to camp in mud or something similar. Definitely need to work on the roads getting around the park (fill in those pot holes! ). Amenities were okay, however when I went to go shower, I pressed the timer button and the hot water was welded on! So I had a cold surprise to wake me up, plus I forgot my towel and couldn't turn the water off, such a waste. This park is okay for one night, wouldn't stay longer.

Great park with great spots. The weather can change without notice so put the extra pegs in.

Camped here over Christmas hols — was very busy, and for good reason — the facilities are very good, particularly the central cooking / BBQ area. Having said that, the camping sites are reasonably separated so you don't get too cosy with the neighbours. It's across the road from the shuttle buses up in to the Cradle Mountain park, couldn't be much closer. Only real downside is the price.

Stayed here a little out of luck than anything else in October. It snowed hard while we were here but the 4 person Dorm/bunk we had was more than perfect. The heating was on a timer, so when the temp dropped we felt it. Otherwise can;t fault the facilities, absolutely great and easy access to Dove lake. The communal cooking facilities are good, bt might be a little small if there are a lot of people here without barbies.

The discovery cabins are nice and close the the information centre where they run shuttle buses up the mountain, so the location is good, it's only a short walk. I don't think there's much closer. However, the cabins — we stayed in the cosy cabins, are not good value for money. The heating is substandard — particularly in the winter (and when we went it snowed! ) it was only an electric heater, so it took some time to heat up and it's only in the kitchen/sitting area. Thank goodness the beds had electric blankets! But coming out of the shower — freezing! The decor is quite dated and old, but at least it was fairly clean.

Communal kitchen was excellent with plenty of wood and communal bathrooms were clean and well designed. Campsites were reasonably private and the kids loved the wildlife. The cost was higher than I thought was reasonable for pitching a tent. We are however, going back to stay in the cabins with friends and this seems much better value for what you get.
