This is probably our favorite hotel in Japan.
No competition whatsoever. It's one of those places that I almost want to keep tucked into my pocket forever to guarantee a room each year we go, but this hotel deserves the success.
We just recently concluded our third yearly stay here, and we plan to book again when we come back next year. Yuto, along with the rest of the staff are some of the nicest people we've met. They're always accomodating and super friendly to talk to.
There are three total "rooms", each on a floor. Two of which have their own seperate hot tub spaces on separate floors. The third room has none, but a fairly generous westernized bathtub in the bathroom on the same floor. Each space has its own little vibe and is some of the highest quality care put into designing a space. There are small tatami mat floors to relax on, and spacious and comfortable bathrooms.
I actually want to update this review to go a bit more in-depth later, but I just wanted to get my 5 star review on here before I forgot, because this place deserves it :)
We booked the 4th and 5th floors (double bedroom and private bath. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful! It's a great location. Far enough from all the shops to be peaceful but close enough to easily walk to Nishiki market. There are a few great restaurants within a couple of blocks too! If you want to try sukiyaki, there's a great place on the corner.
The private bath was wonderful after a long day of walking and very reasonably priced for the quality of accommodations. We had a little trouble figuring out the controls but with a little help got it working and enjoyed it every day we were there.
