Hotels in Matera with Breakfast

We had a lovely one-night stay at 1402 Accommodation in Matera. Traveling with my mum, we really appreciated the comfort, cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere.

Staid for two nights during my visit of Matera. The location is excellent; it is a quite location but close to the Sassi di Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We had a wonderful stay here with our two kids and would highly recommend it to families visiting Matera.
One of the biggest advantages was the easy car access.

Exceptional!
If you are in this area, I would highly recommend booking this unique experience. Staying in a cave that is very comfortable, and well equipped.

Absolutely fantastic experience staying here. The only reason it's not a five is that, unfortunately, the restaurant was closed.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here.

A pleasant room in a great location looking at the old city.
Highly recommended.

During a 3-day stay in a fantastic hotel, we had full support from a marvelous hostess! Grazia, Marianna! would love to come back!

What a wonderful experience staying in one of the caves of Matera. Beautiful renovation with everything you'd need. Reception was super helpful making table reservations and recommendations.

If you want to be in the center of Matera, this is a good choice. The staff was very helpful, making sure we got there as easily as possible, and recommending a great restaurant.

The bed and breakfast is very close to the center and the Sassi of Matera. The lady is very helpful, the rooms are well furnished and the breakfast is satisfying. Advised.

Excellent location and welcome from the friendly and kind owner who makes up for the absence of a lift. Tip: bring light hand luggage!

Fabulous rooms, not to mention the excellent bathroom, staff and courtesy at the top. I will be back.

We stayed here June 2025. Giacomo is a wonderful host. The rooms are great. The location is right in the middle of the Sassi. So amazing! He also has an agreement for parking in the new area of town.

Giacomo immediately made us feel welcome and was available and willing to help with anything we needed.

Industrial breakfast. And there was no TV in the bedroom.
Great location. Very central.

Spectacular mezzanine studio apartment, spacious and finely furnished, a stone's throw from Sasso Caveoso, convenient to all the main places of interest in Matera.

Wonderful 3-room cave hotel that I highly recommend!
Domenica took wonderful care of us, arranged a tour and airport transportation and gave us several restaurant recommendations… she was wonderful!

Wonderful cave hotel was truly a magical experience! From the US and Domenica was wonderful — she helped arrange airport transportation, a tour, and gave us restaurant recommendations!

Very nice and clean hotel. In the middle of the center and the rooms built in a cave. Very recommended!

This hotel is one of the most unique and special places I’ve ever been. The room was incredible, 10/10 big, comfortable, amazing bath, and super special view.

My husband and I stayed a few days ago… found by chance!
A spectacular environment to say the least. A mix of history and modernity.
Our room was very original high bed Materano.

Great place to stay in Matera. Very close to center, and owner was amazingly kind to let us check in earlier as we arrived early to Matera. The balcony of the room we took has the view below.

Great place with awesome host, rooms are cosy. Walking distance to most attractions.

We had a fantastic 4 nights here. The place is spotless, light and airy with a scrummy breakfast delivered daily and the best coffee machine.

This is a belated review for a stay from 2.5 years ago. I still have very fond memories of the stay.

Friendly lady at the reception. Rooms are a bit outdated but the silence during the night gives you a good sleep. Clean room. At a few footsteps of an amazing view on Matera.

Place is clean and very pretty. It’s quite close to the city centre. Our train and bus was late, so we arrived quite late and the owner was kind enough to wait for us. I highly recommend this place.

Very good service, clean, neat and well located (you have to walk but it is worth it, because 3 blocks away you are in the center and it is full of people).

I really enjoyed my stay at the Home Sweet Home. The host was absolutely welcoming and kind, and the room was clean and spacious. Lovely breakfast. Strongly recommended!.

I enjoyed my time here, was short, one night, but the host was nice (no English at all), provided written instructions and help to what to see/ where to go. The room was excellent and clean, very

Perfect place for anyone looking for a relaxing and modern place to stay while visiting Italy. The owners are super friendly and the food was amazing.

We were there for 2 nights with a group touring Matera. It is a newish, modern hotel in an industrial park outside Matera. There was a nice touch of the mosaic art.

This hotel is new with amazing mosaics decorations like painting, etc. I love the room and the bathroom's is refreshing with unique mosaics design.

Tenuta Danesi is a large old farmhouse complex set in the middle of huge cornfields which has been rebuilt by a modernist architect who has changed it beyond recognition into a very impressive small

My husband and I stayed in the Bubble Room at Tenuta Danesi, and it was truly one of the most incredible experiences we’ve ever had.
