We had a 2 night stay at Il Palazzotto and really enjoyed it. The rooms are all in caves and some go a fair way into the rock which is a real experience. Having a bath in a cave really is something.

This hotel and the city are honestly unreal. Every single person on the staff we dealt with was outstanding, making the whole stay feel seamless.

Location, Location, Location… it is incredible to sleep in one of the "caves" of Matera withing the Sassi neighborhood.

TO BE RECOMMENDED! It started with a very nice welcome. Booked the King's room and it is simply amazing as the room is completely in the cave, very spacious with a bathtub.

This hotel is one of the most unique we have ever stayed at. The rooms are dug into the limestone that makes up most of Matera Old Town, but they are clean spacious, modern rooms.

A beautifully restored noble house at the top of Matera. The walk to the breakfast room is worth the price of the room by itself! It goes through the main rooms of the old mansion.

I stayed in the lovely Room The house has been beautifully renovated. The hotel is perfectly located right beside the Via Fiorentini and they even suggested a convenient interior parking for my car.

We stayed 2 nights at this wonderful place and we can absolutely recommend staying there. Small but perfect breakfast also included. We loved steying there!

We were happy with our 2 night stay at this hotel. Close to a selection of restaurants, bars, and museums. Our deluxe room had its own little terrace with an amazing view of the Sassi area.

Comfortable, clean and spacious rooms and bathroom. The breakfast, however, is decidedly poor: it is limited to milk and fruit juice and a few packaged snacks. The location however is excellent.

The location of un Rubino is great, just metres away from the paths that lead down into the sassi.

We went on New Year's Eve. Rented two triples and one double. Excellent location, in front of the castle and a stone's throw from the centre. Nice design, everything clean and tidy.
