Fantastic stay affordable price very nice rooms staff are very welcoming.

A decidedly average hotel but then it was a pretty cheap option for it's location. Dated looking and a bit shabby. It was also as hot as the sun in the bedroom (wasn't even that warm outside) but sleeping with the window open was a mistake because we got woken at 2am by people on a night out. Bed wasn't all that comfy either. Wouldnt stay here again. One thing I would say is that there are some reviews saying the staff were rude… that's absolutely not our experience. They were very friendly, only remarkable thing about the place. But then I suppose you get what you pay for.

Cute rooms, friendly staff, convenient location and all the amenities you need. Nice to have a place to store your luggage before and after check out and in which is very useful. Walls are a bit thin between rooms but otherwise great place for a food price.

A huge thank you to Casey working at the reception. You saved my day and your kindness makes me believe there are always Angels around! Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Stayed at this hotel as an over night guest whilst in Newcastle for a friend's birthday. Ideally located however parking was a nightmare. Rooms were very dated and in need of refurbishment. For the value, we expected a nicer room experience. Staff were very friendly.

Lovely Hotel in perfect location, near the central but also a quiet place. Nice and friendly staff at the reception and the Long Play Cafe (breakfast) as well. I spent 1 night from sunday to monday and if I ever come back, i'll come back to you! :)

Average hotel. A great location. It's a 5-10 minute walk away from the city's night life and a 1 minute walk away from the Riverside gig venue.

Great location. Decent room, bed and bathroom, quite a lot of noise at night from other rooms and outside though. Breakfast was very nice.

For my first time in newcastle its a very nice little place to stay. Staff are really helpful telling me where stuff is around newcastle and what to visit before you go. Good location and good price.

Once we found it it was lovely and staff all very friendly and welcoming. The room wa perfect for what we wanted clean and tidy lovely bathroom etc we will be visiting again in the near future.

Hotel is in good location. Most staff were friendly but not all, one guy was very abrupt and clearly needed his customer service revised. Rooms are good size but some work needed. Mirror was cracked, no seat at desk, wardrobe hinges broken, main door had been previously mended at lock assuming they had to break in at one point. Would stay again though.

Second stay at the waterside and we can't wait to stay again. Bed was lovely and comfortable and the breakfast was perfect. All staff very accommodating and friendly. Thank you so much to all. Xx.

Good value 'no nonsense' hotel which had all my needs covered. On suite bathroom, tv, wardrobe space etc… Location is excellent, right on the River Tyne.

Good priced, centrally located hotel for a city visit. Nothing posh but clean, tidy & comfortable. Staff were welcoming, courteous & friendly. Little dated but does the job, bus stop 1 min away takes you into heart of the city in 10 mins, would be back.

Me and my husabnd stopped here for two nights. Lovley little place right opposite the swing bridge on the quay side. The staff are lovley. And the rooms are great. And reasonably priced… easy access to the quay side resteraunts and bars and the bus stops near by to get you to the town centre will return again thanks.

Small room and limit in cleanliness this deserves to be redone!

Thus was my second stay in Waterside Hotel. There's always friendly staff who'll do anything they can for you. Rooms are reasonably priced and the location is perfect.

Excellent budget prices for what I think are rather nice rooms, quayside location is absolutely brilliant. Our room even had air con! Amazing!

£50 a night and you get a decent clean room with tea/coffee making facilities. Front staff were great and very helpful. Parking is £7 per night and you park in the nightclub carpark across the road (drive into the car park next to Lloyd's no 1 bar and snake round to the back)

Hotel is located over a popular restaurant/bar which opens late at weekends. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Staff very attentive and eager to please.

Booked the hotel for a mid week trip up from the Southcoast for a Newcastle United match on the Tuesday night. I mainly picked the Waterside due to the 24 hour parking available. When we got to the hotel I was very impressed, the reception team couldnt have been more helpful, the parking was great, and the room was good. Big enough, had heating/air con options, bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The place was perfect for what we needed, great location and a good English breakfast the morning after. Its not a 5 star hotel so I wasnt expecting perfection, the room was very clean but the carpet was a bit torn in a small area, and the paint on the wall could have done with a touch up. That didnt matter to me in the slightest. Very good value for money and I highly recommend The Waterside Hotel. I will be staying there again.

Last December we spent a few days in this hotel. Along with a visit to the Riverside across the street to see a performance by the Zombies and a delicious dinner at Sambuca Italian restaurant on the other corner, it was a fantastic weekend. It felt like the staff was special there for us. We had beautiful dreams with the sounds of a city at the weekend in the background. All in all a good base to explore Newcastle. So much to see, starting with the many bridges, the New Castle and Grainger Market. The market along the banks of the Tyne on Sunday morning and much more. We definitely go back one more time.

A basic hotel in need of some work but In a great location and for a reasonable price.

Really nice clean rooms and helpful staff. Really good price and location. It's over the top of a loud late bar. So be prepared to be listening to I'm Sexy and I Know It well in to the night while you're laid in bed.

The bottom line is that it is not possible to sleep in this place. You got the bar of the hotel, "Jimmyz", whose cheap but atrociously loud music shakes your bed. The main business of this place is the bar, not the hotel. At best mediocre even if you plan to spend most of the night out. Bizarre furniture, ugly carpet and below average breakfast.

What can I say, I was shocked. We were informed that this was a four star hotel. I don't think so! The staff are not exactly friendly, the rooms are boiling, cramped and everything in them is peeling or falling apart. The decor is bad circa 1973, a la George and Mildred, dingy and very brown. The bed, well, you can feel the springs and the pillows are hard and rubbery. The only positives were the TV and the bathroom. Never again.
