Fantastic atmosphere, very friendly staff. Food is very tasty with ample portions. Rooms are spacious and very clean. We would definitely recommend the hotel A 10 minute walk across the bridge to lots of night-life and LOADS of restaurants.

What a fabulous night at the heel and toe charity ball in November. The serving staff was outstanding, friendly and efficient. I felt looked after from the moment I arrived, free cloakroom, beautiful toilets. the vegetarian food was fantastic.

All round lovely place, with very pleasant staff.

Lovely hotel set right on the Tyne. The hotel bar is beautiful we’ll set out. Christmas decorations have made an appearance adding to the warm cozy but modern ambience. The rooms are spacious clean and they have lovely smelling toiletries with big soft fluffy towels. I hope when I return I can request a Tyne view rather than front of hotel 😊

Had a fabulous relaxed 2 night stay last weekend at the Hilton.
First hotel we have stayed in since the pandemic!
Check in was really easy, the staff were very friendly and informative regarded the changes due to Covid.
Room and view were amazing! The room was extremely clean and had everything we needed for our stay.
Great nights sleep!
Breakfast was really well organised and the cook breakfast was excellent!
I would recommend anyone to stay here. Well done Hilton Gateshead staff!

Staff very nice. Very impressed with all they had in place re COVID. Hotel and room were spotless. We reported a disturbance in the corridor at 2.30am this was dealt with swiftly by staff. Would certainly return.

Despite it being super busy, we just checked in for my husbands birthday which happens to fall on Valentines weekend and still managed to get a cheeky little upgrade thanks to Abby on reception. Lovey girl, amazing room with a view, so far could not fault at all. Thank you.

The missus and I stayed last night, got a silver executive upgrade, it was brilliant, really enjoyed the executive lounge with its view and Cath was a great host, one of our best hotel experiences so far, thanks very much, we will b back.

Prize winner a meal for 2 people in the Hilton restaurant. Lovely meal, beautiful surroundings and pleasant staff. Very disappointed there was no complimentary 1st drink provided with this prize. Drinks very expensive which ruined a lovely evening.

This place is amazing In many ways … location, fabulous staff, beautiful inside, chilled vibes and of course provides health, fitness and beauty with a pool too.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff. The riverside rooms have a beautiful view across the Tyne with the two bridges framing the castle on the opposite hill. Food is great and the facilities are fantastic. Really close to town so you aren't far from the nightlife.

I stayed one night only. The atmosphere inside and outside the hotel is really good. The food and welcome reception is fantastic, plus a unique view over the bridge and the river. The downside is you need to pay additional for internet access! and the water in the jacuzzi was cold! These are not expected from Hilton!

We booked our room well in advance but seemed to get allocated a disabled accessible room, with no bath. We weren’t advised of this at the time of check in.
No waste bin in the room.
Stains on the carpet floor.
No bottled water (only available to exclusive guests! ).
Inadequate supplies, i. E. Milk or shower gel (when we requested more shower gel we got bars of soap instead).
We paid £11 for room service which came without the tea we ordered.
Wi-Fi charges.
Whilst we could have brought this all to the hotels attention we’d have been spending more time at reception than trying to enjoy our weekend break.
All in all, not a standard I would expect at a Hilton, considering I’ve stayed at a lot of them up and down the country.
Discussed all the above during Check Out but will expect just the standard ‘thank you for brining this to our attention, we’ve relayed your feedback to management’ reply.
Will be giving somewhere else a try next time.

Fantastic experience last night at the Hilton Gateshead. It was my partner's birthday which I rang and told the hotel in advance. They gave us a stunning room overlooking the Tyne Bridge, prosecco on arrival, a birthday cake in the room then complimentary car parking. We stayed in lots of hotels but never experienced such fantastic customer service. Breakfast was beautiful and well worth it. A brilliant first time Hilton. Can't wait to return in October x.

We stayed at hotel as myself and my husband were at a party bed was very comfortable but the bedroom was a bit dated could do with a fresh coat of paint breakfast was great lots of choices and the staff were really friendly would stay again and recommend to family and friends.

Been here on several occasions for food, both afternoon tea and evening meals. The view of the Tyne bridge from the restaurant is impressive, although to be honest I prefer the view from the Six restaurant on the roof of the Baltic Mill nearby. The food is generally to a good standard but the menu is pretty average and not outstanding or upmarket food. So if you are looking for a better dining experience maybe consider trying the Six Restaurant, 21 or House of tides along the quayside nearby. And sometimes the rice or pasta ain’t always perfect, salads can be limp. And you may have to wait… oops Their car park ain’t free either btw, just for a meal you’ll be charged around £5 per vehicle. And £12 for an overnight stay. They also have a licensed bar, and yeah it’s a lot more expensive than a conventional bar so beware if you go mad on the drink. Bring the credit card and you’ll be fine.

Superb location on the banks of the river and overlooking the Tyne Bridge. Friendly polite and attentive staff. Comfy rooms. Great breakfast selection and fresh. Great selection of beverages.

Excellent location with probably the best view of the Tyne Bridge and Quayside which is only a 5 minute walk away. The hotel is roughly what you’d expect from a Hilton but has suffered a bit from the stag/hen parties which filter through Newcastle most of the year. Some of the rooms are a bit tired but communal areas are good and there is a good gym/spa and pool. It’s popular with business travellers mid-week.

I attended the Hilton for a work event, which was hosted in one of the conference rooms in the below ground floor. The room was presentable, and the view out the window was incredible! Hot and cold drinks and snacks were provided and were often replenished. The hot lunch buffet was excellent, had a varied selection, and was again replenished quite often. I'd absolutely recommend the Hilton for a work event, brilliant!

Stayed 1 night but thoroughly enjoyed it. Location is perfect, just a short 10 minute walk from the station and the town centre. We had a lovely, spacious room with a river view. Dinner was really good and breakfast buffet was wonderful. So much choice and gluten free options too. I travel extensively and this is probably one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Didn't have time to make use of the leisure facilities. This will definitely be our 'go to' hotel for our next visit to Newcastle. Oh and the staff are fantastic! Well trained, polite and efficient. That's what makes the hotel worth 5 stars.

Awful experience from start to finish!
Arrived to the room to find they had put us in a disabled access room (not what we wanted or needed) told they would reserve £50 on our card in case we took from the mini bar which was absolutely fine except that the mini bar was completely empty!
No security on the door at night meant that we were woken by a party in the next room at 4am! Called reception to complain, took another half an hour for them to sort it!
Awoken again at 8am by the disabled alarms going off in the room every few minutes! Reported this to be told they are experiencing problems with the alarms and trying to fix it!
On check out the receptionist asked if we would be staying for breakfast, at this point we just wanted to get home and have some sleep!
Ruined our special night away for my husbands birthday!
Would not return to Hilton Newcastle ever again!

The hotel is in a good location, right next to the Tyne with half the rooms overlooking the river. Rooms were a good size, but there was some confusion with check in and another bed had to be put in the room, though the staff were very friendly and helpful, sorting this for us quickly. Overall the whole hotel was clean and well presented. The restaurant was extremely good the food was tasty, though a couple of the steaks were overdone, but this happens quite frequently in restaurants. The staff were wonderful, very attentive, friendly and willing to share local knowledge. They also made a special effort for a birthday within our party that helped to make the trip quite special. Would definitely recommend and return for a dependable stay with a slightly larger trip budget.

The reception and entrance area were really inviting and looked stunning. The location was ideal for attending an event at the Sage just a short distance away. The room was a generous size and the bed was really comfy with high quality bedding, usual drinks provided along with biscuits. Could improve by adding hot chocolate to the mix :) My only negative comment for the room was that my towel was replaced regardless of it being hung up for a further use. Breakfast was a fantastic range and the service was above expectations from stays at other hotels recently. Drinks were on the more expensive side. Unfortunately I didn't get opportunity to use the leisure facilities. Would love to go back for a leisure visit and explore more of what the local area has to offer.

A bit dated if I'm honest. Staff were great, decor in public areas was good, restaurant was lovely, but the furniture in the room was straight out the 70s. Solid varnished ply, the type I used to have in my primary school. No complaints other than that.

Firstly a superb location overlooking the bridges City & a few minutes walk from The Safe. However, the views cannot hide the fact this hotel needs a good Spring clean. Had an exec room with a balcony, but the balcony door was locked (ket at reception! ), had only 1 chair outside & cigarette ends strewn outside on the balcony. So had clearly not been cleaned & a way people are getting around the smoking ban. The carpet in the exec room needed a good clean and I even found a complaint form filled in by a guest 7 days earlier (dirty carpet, not an exec room, etc) beside the room phone — so seems unlikely it’s been cleaned since. Compared to other Hilton these “exec” rooms aren’t as good as a grade or 2 below at other Hilton’s. The lounge was small but well stocked & the staff were very sociable. Reception area is spacious & again staff were excellent. Needs the manager to check the rooms with a notebook in hand. Start at 527.

Lovely hotel, lovely staff and lovely breakfast. The only downside to this hotel is that it's a little out of town and on top of a hill. If you have suitcases I'd recommend a taxi from the station.

Lovely hotel. No Jacuzzi bath even though most rooms are over £100. God the price of these places winds me up. I only want to stay a night not rent it for a month aha lol. Anyway would recommend despite the winding up.

Room not so clean, cigarette burns to the carpet, hair in the drawers and a cold room. Not so impressed. Long wait to check in. Breakfast amazing with attentive staff.

One of the nicest Hilton Hotel I've stayed at. Wonderful views of the Tyne Bridge and Newcastle. Restaurant is very good as are conference rooms, gym and bar. Exec lounge is worth upgrading to if you can. Car park is large but a slight hassle if you're carrying a lot of bags — use the drop off zone first!

Superb hotel with a stunning view over the River Tyne. Rooms are very nice as are the staff. Good location if you are thinking about visiting Newcastle as it is only a walk over the Tyne bridge to get to the city centre.

I booked an excecutive room for a treat for my partner for valentines, we have stayed here before but just in a basic room, so I was so disappointed to find that I’d paid £160 for a room that was no different to other rooms! Apart from the fabulous riverside view, the rest of the stay was dismal… great big stains on the carpet, the bed was like lying on a brick! It cost £17 for 2 drinks at the bar but as we had 2hrs longe access we thought we’d at least get a few free drinks. Again to be really disappointed as all they served is bottled larger and cheap house wine. Needless to say we didn’t take advantage of the “free drinks”
Continued to have a great night on the town but in future we’d book else where I’m afraid.

We like the bar menu and the treat views of the iconic Newcastle bridges. Parking is easy too. Staff are almost all friendly geordies.

A group of friends and I had an overnight stay 25th January, to celebrate our 70th birthdays. We couldn't have asked for better treatment. It was a wonderful stay, with excellent service. Thank you so much to the staff for making us feel so special, especially Jeanette in the executive lounge.

We were at a teachers event. The room had previously been used for a party and there was a lot of detritus still on the carpet, including glass. The room was also very cold during the morning event. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had additional dietary requirements and the manager was very helpful. The buffet lunch was lovely.

Clean and large rooms. Not very modern. Good location, good view Attentive and professional staff.

Luxurious hotel located in front of the Tyne with unique views of this. It has a spa and gym. A few minutes from Newcastle on the 189 _ 186 It is only necessary to cross the river. Walking distance.

I had to unplug fridge as it's compressor was banging. Shower curtain rail was falling off. Excessive black mould in ceiling from a/c vent. Long wait at breakfast to be seated and long wait to check in and out. Price of parking is excessive for a car park the hotel own. £12 overnight. Several staff at the evening function we attended were very poor at answering questions about the function. However the hotel is very well situated and is designed very well. The breakfast itself was amazing. I would not choose to stay again as there are better hotels in Newcastle at similar and cheaper rates.

Comfortable enough. Was awoken at 8.30am by cleaner who did not knock before entering. Though lobby is modern the rooms aren't and lack bottled water and a plug anywhere near in a useful place. Incredibly expensive bar, way above national average and incredibly young and unknowledgeable bar staff. Concierge good but reception staff aloof and not particularly helpful, also loosing credit card details for booking between check in and check out.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Hilton, Newcastle, and it hasn't disapointed both times. Offering fantastic service, nice food and excellent views, being situated next to the Tyne bridge. Well situated for access to Newcastle town centre. Standard rooms offering bath with stand up shower. Only real negative was the prices, paying £10.20 for a large house white was in my opinion a little steep.

I booked a room as a surprise for my lass, we booked in early, staff were very friendly/polite, I upgraded to a room with a balcony, to then also find out we could have a few beers/food in the exec lounge, nice surprise, views are stunning, room lovely, few beers in Newcastle, and even though we live in Newcastle I didn't realise what a stunning place we live in! Will defo go back to the Hilton.

Beautiful hotel great location a 10 min walk in to the city centre. Helpful courteous staff. Clean fresh rooms we stayed over looking the entrace which was super quiet! good rate per night vs other high end hotels in town the Breakfast was superb noting too much trouble for the staff.

Visited the Ocean rooms spa. Had 1 hour long full body massage by Sofia which was fantastic. Was lovely and quiet on a Tuesday morning. Great value for money.

Beautiful hotel from the inside and outside. Check in was suburb! Room upgraded due to the trip being our wedding anniversary. Salvu (male) who checked us in gave us each a complimentary glass of processco. Bedroom lovely, excellent view of Tyne bridge and so high up given that were on the first floor. All in all so far so good.

I stopped here for a bite to eat when working in the area. The restaurant is light and modern, with a glass wall giving views over the river. The food was tasty, well presented, and decent value. The house red was pleasant but on the pricey side, though perhaps only typically so for such a hotel.

This is a great hotel. Certainly my favourite Newcastle one. Good commanding view of the Tyne, Tyne Bridge and Newcastle. Rooms are modern and well appointed. This is how all hotels should be. Have stayed in far more expensive ones but this still beats them. Reasonably size car park underneath, not free. Gateshead Metro is the closest station but bit of a fiddly route. Parking expensive though, £12 for overnight for residents. There is a small "Loading Only" bay outside that you can park between 8pm and 8am.

Friendly staff, speedy check-in. Plenty of (chargeable) parking. Comfortable bed. Aircon a little on the loud side. Room clean enough, traces of black on tiles in the separate shower. Great buffet breakfast — plenty of choice.

Went for afternoon tea and spa experience. Where do I start! Afternoon tea: to cut it briefly, expecting quality sandwiches, scones and cakes. Reality stale sandwiches and externally bought cakes of low poor quality. Not once did the waitress come back and ask if everything was ok. Spa: the swimming pool area could do with refurbishing or a very very good deep clean The spa treatment poor communication from start to finish meant a treatment was missed out and little or no care was given. Made a complaint and the excuse from assistant manager in regards to the afternoon tea: 'because of the larger number of guests we cannot always cater for things such as afternoon teas so we have to bring in outside suppliers for such things'. Hilton Hotel if that is the case then DO NOT SERVE A SUB-STANDARD SERVICE! I could buy better cakes and sandwiches and get better service at a Premier Inn.

This hotel was beautiful! Great views from the hotel and the bathroom is exquisite! The toilet was brilliant and so was the shower! The bed was very comfy! The staff were very friendly and brought a smile to my face. The light in the bedroom was very fancy and will catch your eye within seconds. No stains on the ceiling which is always a good sign. Hope this helps.

Location is very central right next to the Tyne bridge and close to metro stations and bus stops. Room 449 is very spacious and comfortable with an amazing views over looking the river. The service received was excellent the staff very friendly. As we arrived the concierge helped us with our bags as we had just been married and had many gifts with us. We then received a glass of champagne whilst we checked in.

Nice Hotel, clean, great view over the Tyne and very close to the centre.

Pretty average, I expected better from the Hilton to be honest. The rooms have VERY loud air conditioners which make sleeping with them on impossible, and the only way to turn it off is to turn up the temperature — madness.

Stayed in room 337. Fabulous view of the Tyne … great breakfast, fab facilities … warm pool and only £5 for a taxi to the arena! Friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you … great experience highly recommend…

Rooms are fine: it's exactly what you'd expect from a Hilton, reliable and slick but a bit bland and corporate. There's parking on site in an underground car park (£12/night as of 2016). Actually getting to the hotel can be… interesting, if you haven't driven round Newcastle before, so watch out for the turn. Pool and steam room are great. Location is excellent, right by the river and an easy walk into the city centre where there are plenty of good restaurants. Unfortunately, you're going to need those restaurants because the in-house restaurant is godawful. They charge hotel restaurant prices for sub-standard food (reheated frozen pizza, from what I could tell and soggy reheated frozen pizza at that).

Stayed here for a week. It has good views of the city. Walkable distance to pubs and restaurants.

Rooms for the even were beautiful, all surroundings extremely clean and well kept.

Stayed at the hotel for work purposes. Had a lovely room which overlooked the river. It was beautiful waking up to that view. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was of high standard.

I attended the Hilton hotel in Gateshead for a spa treatment evening, making use of their sauna, pool, steam room and jacuzzi. We found an offer on group on which made the experience much more affordable. The staff were very friendly and the environment was pleasant, however the massage area was right next to the gym so in between the Swedish and Thai massage you'd get the groans of grown men pumping iron.

Great views over the Tyne. Room slightly larger than I expected although views from the back rather less spectacular than the river views. Friendly service but I think that charging for Wi-Fi is poor these days. That alone would make me consider another hotel.

A large Hilton in prime position overlooking the river, the bridges and Newcastle on the opposite bank. It's standard 'Hilton'. So, efficient, clean, everything you need and ready to hand when you want it, but a little soul-less.

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Room was very comfy and had a nice river side view. The executive lounge is where I spent most of my time. Overall a great business hotel in the centre of the city.

The hotel is situated in a great location as you can walk over the bridge into the centre of Newcastle. My room was not very big but was cosy, with a nice view of the river and Gateshead Quay.

Nice design hotel, standard room large enough, view from the room was on the bridge and the Castle. The service as always on a different level. Stayed at the hotel for one night, but had a lot to try. We stopped at the hotel in the evening and at the reception, we were invited to visit the bar immediately on our floor, which acted happy-Aour 2:0 free all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and a variety of kanapeški. In addition, the view from the bar was amazing, a two-story glass. After the bar we went to dinner at a restaurant (pre booking a table), all of it was delicious, I would like to what would have been a little cheaper. In the evening we booked a 30-minute massage. Making massage before breakfast, felt fine. Prices for spa treatments and massages, normal for the hotel. The staff is very friendly. Parking is chargeable.
