Great location, so close to many husband restaurants, and of course the river, paid in advance so great deal room really good and parking easy. Breakfast easy and good no complaints at all, will stay again.

Great room, comfortable bed and brilliant location. All the staff were really friendly especially David during the breakfast service — thank you for all your effort For the price I really can't fault my stay at all.

Very good experience. Room was nice, airy (it was during the hot spell) and clean. The staff were lovely and helpful and the food good. I recommend trying to get one of their parking spaces as they are under the hotel, accessed by a side entrance. It's secure and also cool in hot weather.

Good hotel, although common areas showing their age. Usual decent breakfast and rooms.

Another premier inn another city! Still cheap, comfortable and clean. Basic but all you need for 1 night. Love the pillows.

Not great. The rooms were ROASTING although the receptionist said this was due to trying to get their heads around the temperature settings now they have had double glazing installed. My room was clean but very dinky with the foot of the bed only a foot away from the door which didn't feel so secure. The sheets also had holes in them so I swapped them all around. Breakfast was not great. Fruit was bad quality and the pastries and bagles were hard and stale at 9.00am. I ate out the next morning instead. Also worth noting the lift only goes to the 3rd floor and its also a tiny very old lift. Would fit a large suitcase and a skinny person. I backed out and just chose to walk up the stairs. Staff nice though.

It's a Premier Inn, so exactly what you would expect. Pretty basic, but clean, comfortable, and the food is pretty good. And good central location.

Lovely old building, great place to stay. Near everything you could need, room was massive that we stayed in. Breakfast was nice and everyone was very friendly Has very small car park that you need to pre book.

A nice clean spacious hotel was quite surprised. Great night's sleep (well 2) beds really comfy. Helpful staff and bar and breakfast were great.

Fantastic staff, fantastic location. We spent a weekend in Newcastle. The Premier Inn Quayside was about 10 minutes walk from the main shopping centre. We were able to leave the car in the hotel car park safely & for £7 per night. There are lots of bars & restaurants nearby. Staff went out of their way to help us. Sophie was very helpful. The staff ensured that our 3 rooms were all close together. Thanks.

Very average hotel with a great location. £140 for NYE I think is excessive for 2 adults and 1 child, so book early! The location can't be beaten though for access to the Quayside. Room is average size, beds comfortable. The facilities are very basic in the room, not much there apart from the bed and TV. No mini bar. Online check-in doesn't work on mobile phone. £7.50 for a glass of white wine at the bar is also excessive! Overall a very average hotel, overpriced, won't rush back at that price.

Excellent location, excellent beds, very clean. Bathroom could do with a spruce up, there was no phone in the room which is not the end of the world but would have good. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Prime location right on the quayside. Rooms clean, beds comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast brilliant.

Good location right on Quayside, half decent bar and food. Close proximity to nightlife if you can be arsed to walk up a steep hill. Staff are friendly and happy to help.

Location of hotel is good, although a little hard to find initially. Room was adequate for an overnight stay and comfortable. Polite staff and nice and clean.

Smallest room I have ever been in, heating intermittent at best. Maybe breakfast will salvage the day but at the moment have to say not impressed! Premier Inn is normally a lot better than this… guy on reception was a friendly and helpful chap so not irredeemable!

Bathrooms are a mess. I was visiting twice now and every time the bathroom was very dirty.

For being a 'quiet zone' it really wasn't that quiet. From noisy cleaners in the morning to our room shaking from the couple next door and the people above. It's also quite dear for being a 3 star hotel. However, the facilities were good, (amazing beds and pillows! ), the staff were lovely, and it was really handy to the venue we were attending. Considering that the takeaways around here aren't great and have a poor variety, it might be nice if the hotel offered late night food. Would stay here again simply for handiness.

The Premier Inn Quayside is a good place to stay, our room was satisfactory but looks ready for updating the decor. Downstairs in the dining room was very nice and the breakfast we had was great All in all a good place to stay on the Quayside.

Stayed here for one night. Bugger to get to even with sat nav from other side of river. Parking is very limited underneath the structure and you must reserve a space early if you are wanting one for £7 a night. I have rump stale and was cooked exactly how I ask it to be. The beds are always the same so you know you will have a good night. I have taken pics of the menus and room literature for anyone who wants to view.

Very reasonably priced, fantastic location and the room was surprisingly big and cleaned to a high standard. Parking is under the building in a safe and secure compound for peace of mind.

Lovely and comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe space, spotless and good sized rooms. Well appointed, near the Tyne and big plus, car park at hotel.

Had everything you expect from a Premier Inn. Good size, ckean, comfortable room, friendly helpful staff. Restaurant was good with usual great breakfast. Great location on the river.

Very out dated. Booked 2 meeting rooms and hotel knew nothing about them. One meeting room was an old bedroom. 1 plug and not fit for purpose. Cups provided smelt. Meeting rooms on 1st and 3rd floor and toilets were down at reception. No air con. Generally not fit for purpose. You need to book for parking.

The hotel somewhat dilapidated and was a very poor setup because it's such an old building. There's very few parking spaces if you're staying more than just one late evening and the entire building is very old and really needs a lot of work. Buy Premier Inn standards it is very poor. I would recommend paying the extra to stay at the Crowne Plaza down the road because it is a much much better experience. To clarify the staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly and it is down to Premier Inn as a company that ensure this hotel is not a good experience.

Very tired hotel. Beds were comfy, but decor in a real need of the update. Same price as other Premier Inns but standard not the same. Food okay but not good as other stays. Considering we stayed in a different Premier Inn the night before it was easy to draw comparisons. They seem to cater for contractors very well. Usual good breakfast mix but not quite as hot as previous stays.

Arriving on Monday 6th June, was pleasantly suprised about the fact they have secured parking especially in the location it is. Checked in and the staff were lovely! Check in was quick and easy. Was allocated a room on the 2nd floor which is accessed via lift or stairs. Finding my room was probably the hardest part (The building is like a maze). The room we were in was quite obviously old and in need of updating (was told they were due a refurb in october). But it was good enough for our one night stay. We had a couple issues with our electrics, along with the guest next door. The lights went out a couple times which resulted in us being moved rooms. The staff were so helpful and apologetic throughout and even offered us a free drink which we accepted. Other than that one minor incident, everything else with our stay was great. Food was amazing as thyme restaurants always are :) I had an amazing sleep (premier inns definitely have the BEST beds ever). All in all, it was a good stay and would recommend if you're staying 1 or 2 nights.

A good budget hotel conveniently located for the city centre. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel was looking a bit tired in the corridors with chipped paint etc. The room was comfortable but a bit on the small side. We would definitely stay again.

After been evacuated from original premier inn to this one, overall I cannot recommend. The whole build is tired and shabby. The noise from the pigeons 24/7 (Obviously they don't need sleep). I would suggest you try one of the other premier inn in Newcastle.

What a great little find! People who stay at a chain hotel, generally do so because "they know what they're getting" and I was no different when I booked this. However, whilst the rooms were what you would expect (clean, well appointed, comfortable) the interior of the building itself has been sympathetically renovated and done extremely well. The reception staff were all lovely (with my sincerest apologies to Thomas, who was great, but I hadn't tuned my ears into geordie and was that typical southerner who asked him to repeat himself several times! ). We took advantage of the "meal deal" at the attached restaurant and had two delicious courses as our evening meal and the breakfast was also included (approx £24 per person). I would thoroughly recommend staying here. Tip: make time to telephone and book the car park when you book your stay … it's very small but cheaper than parking your vehicle on the road overnight.

Rooms were spacious, bed was comfortable, location was great and the price was right. Not a classic 5 star experience but for what you expect it was perfect.

Stayed in many premier inns before but this was the worst of them all by a fair margin, rooms where a under normal premier Inn standards though this as an excuse as it is located in a old building, worst of all was the restaurant experience, ordered a mackerel starter that was inedible, it had been warmed in microwave and had to send it back and order something different and for that I was entitled to a sarcastic comment of not one but two staff members. Main course was pretty lousy as well.

Hands down the best premier inn I've been to in the UK and Ireland. The staff here can never do enough for me. Been to this exact spot about 4/5 times and it's the only place I ever consider staying at in Newcastle.

Thyme Restaurant: Good food for the price. Pleasant staff. Didn't like how the staff brought out 2 Peroni's and 2 glasses of wine when we only ordered 1 each. The staff claimed it was Buy one Get one, but I didn't appreciate 2 beers/2 glasses of wine at the same time… Rooms: Quiet, comfortable. Older. But can't complain. Very comfortable sleep.

Another consistent Premier Inn. Built into an old building it's a little dated round the edges but warm, friendly and well located right next to the Tyne Bridge.

Beautiful room with the best views of the bridges, and even though we were right on the front the noise was minimal, as ever comfortable beds and as always the best staff ever. We had a family bereavement while we were visiting and the staff went above and beyond their duties to help us during such a sad and tragic time, special mention to Ciaran in the bar and Dianne on front desk and the wonderful housekeeping staff. This is 5 star accommodation at reasonable prices in fact your staff are what make this hotel the best premier I have ever stopped in and I have been in about 40 odd of your hotels over the years. So good here that I have just booked my 3rd stay at the Quayside in as many weeks:)

We had a fantastic three nights here. The hotel accommodated us with our bicycles without issue and we used the fantastic location as a base for a number of day trips out peddling. Hotel staff were friendly and professional and bed was very comfortable. Only downside was that we didn't have a view from our room — but obviously not everyone gets the view!

It was a lovely hotel good price with friendly staff who explained clearly about our stay. The room was nice and cosy and clean with comfortable beds and tea and coffee facilities the bathroom had a bath and shower with soap n shower gel facilities and fresh towels also freeview TV and free Wi-Fi. Overall a lovely room and hotel very welcoming and will most certainly go back.

Lovley staff, clean, good breakfast, grat bed, all premia advertises, the actual bill was much higher than advertised on the web site, we had no sleep as we were in a front room, the traffic never stops outside. I know it is a city centre location, I was told it is was a listed building and they cant do doubl glazing however I think they could do interia instalation for the guests comfort as they advertize a quiet zone. I was so tired having no sleep, it spoilt my stay, so be warned ask for a back room with out the view if you need quiet.

Stayed at this hotel quite a few times now and I've never had a problem. The rooms are clean and tidy, it's fair value for money and the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. As for parking, it says when you book that if you require a parking space then you must previously book or they can't guarantee that there will be a space for you. Check your confirmation, then there won't be any surprises.

I really enjoyed my stay in this Hotel, the location is great and easily within walking distance of center (up a pretty decent hill). The room was very clean and perfect for a nights stay. As it's classed as a budget hotel you obviously don't expect 5* accommodation, that being said I couldn't fault anything with the room, bed or bathroom. The hotel emailed me advising that I should prebook a car parking space and that is definitely advisable as it's pretty limited in there. The staff couldn't be move helpful and their was even security on at night to make sure nobody came in who didn't have a room. We didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner but the all you can eat breakfast was extensive with pretty much everything covered hot to cold. Our room overlooked the Tyne (as requested) and provided an excellent view of Tyne Bridge and Gateshead. I look forward to staying there in the future.

Great hotel for value as expected with Premier Inn chain. Good bar to get started before hitting town. Car Park around the corner and Slug and Lettuce next door :).

Was told on checking in, I would not be allowed to use their carpark as I had not pre booked it, so had to park a mile away, room was shabby, three lights in the bathroom only one worked, the 'kept warm breakfast' was bordering on inedible. I have stayed at Premier inn on several occasions before, but this will definatley be the last.

You get what pay for in a Premier Inn as far as facilities go, but the room was clean, staff very friendly and helpful and the location is perfect for events at The Sage just over the bridge. The only thing missing was biscuits to go with your tea/coffee.
