Lovely hotel room great staff great breakfast x.

The staff on arrival where vey friendly knowledge of city fantastic hotel room very good for the money breakfast full English recommended for city centre sights.

Nice and relaxing. Friendly staff.

Noise inside and outside during the night. Very unorganised at breakfast. Some food not continuously refilled. Had to wait or do without some items.

Every time we have possibility Holiday Inn Express is our first choice. Nothing different from same chain no matter where you travel but this hotels for price for accommodation or from reception staff to cleaners etc etc and especially excellent breakfast which is automatically included… So definitely worth staying there anytime anywhere without doubt. “happy new year. ” I hope see you soon again 👍🏽 P. S. That one accommodation can’t be better for walking I mind definitely with walking distance to whole main places around Newcastle City Centre.

Noise outside room was shocking bad and when reporting to staff in morning they tell me it's my responsibility to let them know with a phone that was unplugged. So spoke to the manager which said I had a responsibility to let staff know when it happens. At 130am with no working phone in room.

Brilliant nights sleep very clean comfortable bed hotel staff very helpful nice meals and good breakfast will be staying again.

Good location for city centre and only 5 minute walk from main rail station. Have needed help from reception staff on several occasions… they could not be more helpful or friendly. Good Wi-Fi throughout.

Close to where we wanted to be, high standard of cleanliness, friendly staff, quick check in, and a bonus that a large party had a late cancellation, so there was free soup, sandwiches, and wraps.

I've stayed here 3 years in a row whilst taking part in the great north run. The staff are so welcoming. Nothing is any trouble. They are always pleasant and remember their guests.

Greeted at reception on check in and made to feel very welcome. Staff were very friendly, helpful and informative. My room was perfect — spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable — forgot to ask bed manufacturer and I had a great nights sleep. Fantastic choices for breakfast — I particularly liked the yoghurt and fruit compote. A long shift put in by the overnight receptionist (manager)? but he was as chatty the next morning at 11 am as he'd been the previous night. A wonderful overnight stay.

Stayed here twice in two weeks. Under sad circumstances unfortunately but the staff, Michael, Toni and I forget the other members names I’m sorry. You are all fabulous and you couldn’t be more helpful. Your housemaid staff are excellent and the cleanliness of our rooms was second to non. We done breakfast one morning because we were so tired. The hotel is quiet. Everybody is friendly. There’s plenty close by within walking distances to see and do. Discovery museum the life centre Newcastle central station is something wow to see in itself. The architecture and history around Newcastle is phenomenal the holiday inn is definitely thee perfect place to relax and chill or drink and dine out in their luxurious restaurant and bar. I will shut up now. I rate the hotel and all the staff 10 stars.

Amazing hotel room with very soft mattresses. Everybody was extremely friendly and helpful. Only the breakfast was absolutely terrible. Barely options to eat and there was nothing to put on your bread.

Decent hotel with excellent staff. The hotel had very small rooms, do not recommend for families, better for people traveling alone or couples. The location is great, not far to many good locations in Newcastle, the train station is very close, also close to several restaurants which is good since the hotel food offers little. The breakfast is very limited and don't taste much. The salvation for the hotel comes in the staff, they are excellent and ever friendly and helpful.

Absolutely brilliant. The best of three (all, by the way dearer) hotels I have stayed in whilst at Newcastle. The staff were brilliant, the room was spotless, lovely and well laid out. The decor was lovely, the main room was spacious and immaculate, there was Juice and lollipops on offer for the kids and the help yourself breakfast has EVERYTHING you could dream of. I would definitely recommend to anyone and I have already booked again for November (little Xmas shopping break treat ha). Perfect.

Menu interpretation; British beefburger topped with grilled back bacon and mature cheddar £12:95… Bun was soggy but edible. Tomato and lettuce was ok… the rest in all its microwaved glory was truly disgusting. Burger had hard crispy edges. The bacon (if that's what it) was could have been used to repair the soles of my boots. The vaguely cheesy smear topping had almost certainly been microwaved on a previous occasion. And the old dear who pretended to have cooked this culinary nightmare had the cheek to ask me if everything was ok. I was so shocked that I mumbled yes. I left the mummified oven chips uneaten and retired to bed, about £40 poorer with indigestion to await whatever disgusting way this alleged food chooses to leave my body. If I survive the night I will be eating food elsewhere tomorrow night. How do I go about nominating the Holiday Inn Express Newcastle for a Michellin Star?

Checked in on Friday 08.06.2018, booked a family room for my mum, myself and my 2 daughters for 2 nights as we were attending Ed Sheeran. We were greeted by Marc, he made us feel extremely welcome and was amazing with my girls. Suggested places to eat and to take the girls etc.
The sofa bed wasn't made up when we arrived at our room, but a quick call down to reception soon sorted that.
It was very clean and staff couldn't do enough for guests.
Good selection at breakfast, cereals, fruit, croissants and cooked breakfast. The waiter was very friendly and always had a smile on his face (think his name was Michael? ) Absolutely fantastic!
Great location, few minutes walk from train station and St. James' Park.
Would definitely stay here again.

Quite good place to stay. Located in the city centre with nice restaurants around. Parking cost £6 a day and it's located next to the hotel. Rooms are clean and pleasent, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is not too bad however, choice is limited.

Spend 8 nights at the hotel (four nights twice) and can only praise all the stuff I had the chance to communicate with. From the smooth check in with Derek, to directions being shown by Marc. From a pillow request with Ian (maintenance) to same room reserved by Michael (at reception) for visit 2 (two days later). I had to leave the hotel at 5.30am one morning and when I mentioned it to Michael (at the restaurant) he made sure the cereals, fruits and some milk was out for me to have breakfast. Rooms look just like on the photos — clean and modern. There are iron, ironing board, hairdryer, tea, coffee and kettle in the rooom. Flat screen TV available in my room. Shower pressure was great as well. Breakfast selection was good — sausages, bacon, eggs, baked beans (kept warm), selection of cereals, fruits, yogurt, croissants and juice. I've been to many hotels, but never experienced such a friendly and polite service. When I am ever back to Newcastle I know where I will be staying — only because of the exceptional guest service.

Just had a 3 night stay and found the hotel excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty with a great variety. The hotel was in a great location which was easy to find and I will definitely stay here again on a return trip to Newcastle.

Nice quality budget hotel. Clean, smart, modern hotel rooms. Easily accessible from Newcastle Train station. Staff were very friendly and helpful too! Breakfast spread was very good for a budget hotel. Can't discuss to much value for money, as I went on company money but was a very nice stay.

We were checked in over the weekend and were very pleased.
Positives: — Sufficient English breakfast — service nice and quick service — room size was fine, you are not there to stay in the room — available — lounge is large enough to bridge conditional waiting times — suitcase delivery possible — Ze Ntrum — and Station Close — parking available, costs £6 You can easily walk from Holidayinn. Can this hotel highly recommend that only what had bothered me a little, that the water smelled easy of chlorine, but that was still not too bad.

Great Siteo for this the MIA was a quick visit but the staff and services were splendid. You have everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The hotel is located in a good area within ease reach of the city centre and train station, even though there is no on site parking there's a car park right next to it with all day parking for £6. The room that we were in for a first aid course was really clean and airy. We were provided with a good supply of drinks and snacks. The hotel staff were friendly and professional and very approachable. When I was leaving course I was talking to hotel manager and did say if I was ever going to stay in Newcastle I would use the hotel and I would tell friends and family the same thing.

Lovely comfortable rooms within easy reach of the Railway station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Didn't need to check out until midday, which suited us perfectly.

My Husband and two sister and I visited there way back in 2013. We were visiting places our ancestors lived. The staff went out of their way to help us. I still have fond memories of some of the conversations we had. They were so kind and helpful. The bathroom was very tiny and parking wasn't the most convenient, but it was well worth being in short drive or walking distance of so many wonderful historical places we found pertaining to our family. Thank you.

Due to visiting this hotel because of a professional event, I cannot comment on the rooms, but the dining area was spotless, the reception staff was friendly and happy to help and the meeting room was spacious. Very nice hotel.

Lovely hotel. Immaculate rooms. Great staff. Problems after booking meant we were overcharged but staff sorted it excellently and gave us complimentary drinks as an apology. Breakfast was lovely, full English and continental. Highly recommended.

Great location, short walk from the station and main shopping area. Plans changed and we turned up as 3 instead of 2 people, but we ended up being in a room with a spare sofabed that they offered to make up at no extra charge.

This hotel has perfect location when traveling via DFDS Ferry ⛴ 1.5 blocks from Ferry bus stop and 3 blocks from train station. 15 minute walk to shopping and entertainment area. The staff are friendly and helpful rooms. Are clean. Always enjoy our stays.

Stayed here on Sunday night 2/4/17. Cannot fault the place one bit! Beds were so comfortable & bedding beautifully crisp & white. Loved the breakfast, as only expected toast & croissants ~~~ sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, as well as cereals, fruit, toast, croissants, yoghurt & pastries. Newly renovated rooms, nice styling, enjoyable stay, and nice staff. We were on the 5th floor and it wasn't loud at night. Only thing a little gross was the remote. I wouldn't staying here again though.

Great convenient location, short walk from the station and city centre. Friendly helpful staff, and quiet comfortable rooms. Breakfast provided is somewhat basic, but works fine and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Apparently gets a bit busy at the weekend with hens and stags, but I've never actually experienced that myself. During the week it's great and just across from an Akbar's restaurant.

Very good for accommodation for our Christmas night out, in a very good location too for the price. Breakfast was included and seemed to be of good standard, just a shame I couldn't face it after a good night out on the toon.

I stayed at this hotel in Newcastle whilst working away from home. A few hours after checking out, I was contacted by my line manager, who informed me that the hotel were claiming I had been smoking in my room. They further alleged that I had covered up fire equipment, thus breaking the law and putting other guests at risk. The hotel were attempting to collect a £100 fine. This is totally false. I am a non-smoker. As a member of their reward scheme, my contact details were readily available to hotel staff. Therefore, I was surprised and disappointed that they did not attempt to contact me directly before slandering me to my employer. Fortunately, I have been with this company a long time and am widely known to be neither a smoker or (I hope) the sort of person who would tamper with safety equipment. In different circumstances, an accusation of this sort could easily lead to disciplinary action. I have no idea whether this situation was a mix up over rooms, a result of hotel staff smoking in guest bedrooms or outright fraud. The hotel dropped their claim after a few days. However, after the passage of more than a week, I have received no response to the complaint I made via their online form. My review on their own website received only a canned response.

Attended a training course there for a week. The provided audio visual equipment was inadequate giving us all eye strain. The staff were not particularly helpful and room was noisy with the traffic on the main road outside the window. On a posative note the food at lunch was pretty good.

Clean, tidy, quick staff and handy location. One massive issue is that there is no parking! It's right next door to a multi story carpark yet you can't park there for free. I've never known a hotel with no parking or a deal with an adjacent car park so customers can park. So you get totally ripped off fir overnight parking. So add that to total cost and it means this hotel is over priced. Come on manager try and do your job get the parking organised. We aren't all unlucky people stuck on the bus and train you know. Adequate place let down by zero parking. Massive problem.

Stayed for Bank Holiday Sunday at the end of August 2015 with friends. Close proximity to all that Newcastle city centre has to offer, with a free breakfast and cheap, close by, secure parking this is a great hotel option when visiting Newcastle.

Had a very pleasant experience in the hotel, staff were very accommodating with all our requests. Even got the manager to carry my bags from the Hotel room back to the car. Kids loved it we stayed over because of a wedding close by. Only reason for not giving it 5 Stars because we had to park next door in a council car park and had to pay but hotel manager was nice enough to allow us to park close by to unload and load luggage. Breakfast ticketed all the boxes for a budget hotel and included in the price for the room, unlike some others who would levy an extra for breakfast. Overall, I would recommend it if anyone is staying over in Newcastle City Centre.

The hotel is perfectly located in the city center, a 5 minute walk from the train station as well from Newcastle Academy. It's definitely gay friendly as well, seeing as the nice receptionist asked me and a friend (we're both girls) if we wanted a double or twin room, as we'd be in the 'pink city' (he may have said quarter or town, can't remember). Our room was comparably big, very clean and had funky blue light in the bathroom, which also featured the most clever door I'd ever seen, closing both just the loo or the entire bathroom. Hard to explain, you gotta see it with your own eyes. The beds are comfortable and the facilities fairly modern. Also included in the price was a breakfast buffet, which featured a selection of bread, yoghurt, mueslis, tea, coffee, juices, scrambled egg, sausages and many other things. The quality was fine, but the presentation could've been a bit nicer. Overall I'd definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone who's looking for an affordable hotel above budget standards in Newcastle City Centre.

Had a night from 18 03 2013 on the 19 03, 2013. Very friendly and helpful staff (English language only), also very patient with non English speaking guests. Typical English breakfast. Very clean rooms, quiet location. Walk in the shopping mile max 10 min.

Very convenient, a little noisy, but clean, friendly and very adequate for the price. Weekends can be a bit riotous :-).

Receptionists were helpful and nice. The location was good but noisy. However there wa no exttactor fan in my room and the breakfast was unsatisfactory.
