C, mon… they have large, reasonably priced, clean rooms, a swimming pool and a great restaurant right across the street… that makes this our favorite road stop on our way to visit our northern friends… it should be yours too.

The front desk people are the absolute friendliest and most fun and efficient we met along our trip from Maine to Florida. Our pup was most happy with the accomodations!

I am very disappointed. We were suppose to stay here at the end of November/beginning of December. We found bed bugs and left immediately. We did not receive a refund like promised. After multiple attempts and leaving messages, I just kept hearing that the GM was on vacation for most of December and would call me back. After not hearing anything, I called last week and the manager was the one who answered. (It's funny how he hasn't called me yet) He told me he needed to look into the situation and give me a call back by the end of this week. After calling, I just found out that the manager is now out of the office until next Tuesday and there isn't anything they can do. Poor customer service, and poor management. If you want a good hotel to stay at, I recommend a few miles north TRU by HILTON. Best hotel around.

Nicest pet-friendly hotel we have visited, since traveling with our senior dog. Room is well appointed with plenty of lighting, side tables & sofa bathroom has jazzy toiletries & is immaculate. Lobby is welcoming. Staff friendly & helpful. Definitely coming back here!

This is my second stay within 7 months. Can only praise the accommodations, very clean n updated. The staff is very cordial n go out of their way to make our stay extra pleasant.

We really enjoyed our stay at Wingate. The fall decor was so beautiful and the rooms were nice and clean. I was able to do a bit of laundry because The manager placed us in a room right across from the laundry room. That was such a nice gesture and it was greatly appreciated. I will recommend this hotel to anyone seeking top notch accommodations.

My friend found a problem with our initial room. I didn't want to waste any of my time confirming the problem, so I brought it up with the concierge who had acted professionally since the first time I spoke to him. He gave us a new room without hesitation and some toiletries. Very happy with our stay.

Nice and quiet. Parking was a little inadequate but not a huge problem. Bathroom was nice but maybe not enough room for two people at the same time. Beds were very comfortable. They did offer tea, coffee and juice around the clock. Nice eating breakfast area. There's also a gym and an indoor pool. Very nice touches for being in the city.

I was conflicted with staying here unsure of the quality I was going to get. Turns out my intuition was somewhat accurate. It was so hard to tell from the photos online but the breakfast seemed to really sell this place. Turns out I wasn't even able to enjoy the breakfast. The room I was offered had an unfortunate smell. I contemplated asking for a different room but I really had no time. As soon as I checked in I needed to head back to my conference. I think it was just my room but who knows I didn't get another. Despite the setback of the room the hotel wasn't that bad. From what I could see lovely breakfast, pleasant staff, indoor pool, and a workout area.

This property is very family friendly. There’s an indoor swimming pool, gym, and breakfast room. It was awesome. I loved that it is close to many restaurants and shops. The money is worth it. Thank you for the wonderful staff. Our room was enough for us.

Nice hotel with very accommodating staff! Clean rooms and good (free) breakfast. Around 2 am, our 3 year old son, who was sleeping in between my husband and I in the king size bed, suddenly got violently ill and threw up all over my husband (and the bed)! We woke up in a panic and didn't know what to do! My husband quickly got him to the bathtub as I attempted to clean up the mess. Even with my best effort, the smell was still very strong and we were not going to be able to get it cleaned up properly without any cleaning supplies or fresh linens. So I called the front desk and explained what happened. They acted quickly and rushed up a key to a new room, told us not to worry about the mess, they would take care of everything. The new room was a larger suite and also nice and clean, we were able to get back to sleep and enjoy the rest of our stay.

What a great place to stay! We love it and it brought back memories while we were dating! ❤️

I stopped in route to another location it was the only area that had a room it was a king-size Suite but it smelled wet with stale cigarettes undertones under the damp carpet… the bed was comfortable the shower was clean the breakfast included was decent… the smell was just more than I could deal with had it not been the fact that the room was last one and being so tired I probably would have asked for another room or gone to another location… for a smoke-free location I think they should pull the carpet up and start over.

We stayed there for 3 nights. So long enough to have a good opinion. The rooms are very spacious. The bed is very large and I found it comfortable. The cleanliness is still respectable even if I have already seen better. There was a lot of humidity in the room even though the air conditioner was running non-stop. We have not seen any insects as far as we are concerned (no bed bugs)
The décor could be reworked but again, I saw much worse.
Amenities are acceptable; refrigerator, air conditioner, flat screen, large work desk, sofa bed.
Lunch is classic for the USA. It is not extra, but correct. I didn't have to complain.
In short, good value for money.

Room was clean and staff was nice. Heater was on in my room when I checked in, felt like a sauna. Safe doesn't work. No outlets next to the bed. Internet for business was a joke. Better speed on a dial up. Poor lighting in rooms. One of the elevators doesn't stop properly and moves when pressing a floor going up from the 1st. No I am not a previous employee. Just expect a higher standard for the price of these rooms. Especially for a business trip. Had to use my mobile data to write this review, internet was to slow. Super 8 has better amenities.

The rooms are spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast has your typical food… nothing to rave about. Pet friendly!

Arrived at 10p after an 8 hour trip. We were using this as a rest stop for our 1yo. Checked in and went to our room. As I was plugging on of my chargers next to the bed, I noticed stains along the mattress cover. These stains went all around. I called the front desk and a gentleman had me come downstairs. This guy must be overworked there, because he wasn't having a good day. He was very pleasant, but definitely had his work cut out for him. I asked about switching since I feel like this bed was cleaned poorly. He told me I could check another room but his guess it would be just as bad. His theory was if the cleaners didn't fix this room, they wouldn't be fixing the other rooms… I opted to stay in my original room as my infant fell asleep during this whole thing and I wasn't going room to room checking out beds. My husband and I slept on top of the sheets and comforter. Baby had her own pack and play. Next day I spoke to a woman at the desk and they offered $33 refund. I mean the staff tried to take care if the situation, but I will NEVER come back here in the future.

Super awesome stay! Room was quiet and clean! The bed was incredible! We slept SO soundly and felt very refreshed! This Wingate is our favorite stopping place when we travel that way! Desk staff has always been friendly, accommodating and honors our military! Thank you Wingate! We will be back!

Convenient to major highways, clean and courteous staff. We had an issue with the room assigned and they changed it quickly and no questions asked. Nice breakfast. Restaurants in walking distance. Would stay again and recommend to others.

My wife and I stayed there Friday and Saturday night. Shortly after checking into our room my wife was looking in the night stand for a TV channel guide and instead of the channel guide she found 3 condoms. I took them down stairs And asked the guy working at the front desk why hadn’t house keeping found these and he said I don’t know you need to ask them. He then said well at least they are still sealed up. Later that evening we noticed there was no cold water in the bathroom sink and the main light bulb in the kitchen area was out in our room. My wife reported those issues first thing Saturday morning and when we checked out Sunday nobody had bother to come up and resolve the issues. Saving the best for last I was walking across the carpet in our room and felt something under my feet. It was a pill that someone previously left there from and earlier stay.

Was the best night sleep I had in awhile, Clean, comfortable, staff was very nice. Will definitely be back. The young man that checked us in was very friendly and helpful.

We only stayed overnight but the stand was friendly and helpful. The room was nicely decorated and clean. It was an overall lovely experience.

Very clean room. Bedding was perfectly clean. Large room with King size bed. Microwave, refrigerator, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, coffee maker and blackout curtains. Plenty of lighting and Lg tv. Nice fitness room and indoor pool. Juice, coffee, hot chocolate available 24/7. Friendly staff. Daniel (evening shift) was very helpful. Thank You Daniel for great friendly service. Full Breakfast was excellent… Eggs (better quality than most places), sausage, biscuits n gravy, French toast, waffles, fruit, oatmeal (w/toppings to pick from), cereal, bagels, pastries, muffins, toast, juice, coffee and hot chocolate. Checkout 12 p. M. We enjoyed our stay and we'll be back next time we're in the area.

Musty smell and large fans running in the halls. Water pressure was low so it took a very long time to fill the Jacuzzi. Breakfast was good!

I asked for late check out and was told by receptionist Debbie, that the latest is 12:30pm, now usually if asked for late check out its anywhere between 1:00-2:00pm but I was told 12:30 is when house keeping leaves, so thats the latest I can get (which is BS) if house keeping leaves when I leave the room will obviously still be under standards to rent out. Nonetheless, I spent sufficient amount of money staying at this place these last month's thats past, I I'm a member reward card holder but that obviously don't mean anything to the establishment. Debbie, is the grouch and I wish that they put a more competent, and friendly person at desk! (PS I asked if they had some sort of event going on, being I couldn't get late check out, they said NO)

Very clean great staff. After a 9 hour drive I got in at 10:00am. They went a head and let me check in and go to my room. Even though check in isn't until 3:00pm. Great job great employees.

The Wingate was booked for me by my agency while I was in Winchester for training. Customer service and housekeeping are amazing, very nice and friendly. Hot breakfast was served every day from 6-9:30 and every evening there were fresh cookies at the service desk. My room and my coworkers' rooms were spacious and had many amenities like an Ethernet line, separate clothes steamer and iron, large bathroom, spacious mini fridge, microwave, and a single serve coffee machine. I highly recommend the Wingate for others and I consider it a decent rate per night.

Beautiful Hotel all over, dining area and rooms. First hotel I've been to that had a Jacuzzi bath in a room! & even a mini kitchen with dishes and a stove! Went here with my boyfriend over the weekend and it was amazing. Good breakfast as well included. :)

Pleasant staff, quick service, and very comfortable rooms. The hotel is pet friendly, which we greatly appreciate! They have a nice area to walk Fido outback with complimentary poo bags and & outdoor waste bin. If everyone would start cleaning up after their pets, maybe most hotels would be pet friendly. Nice little indoor pool and the price was very reasonable. We will definately return the next time we are passing through.

The front public are was very nice, the re representative at the desk was very pleasant. When I made reservations I asked Alex if you had rooms with walk in showers he said yes I requested that accommodation. When we arrived there was reference to that but she said she was able to put me into that. Unfortunately that was not a walk in shower, it was a handicapped ROLL IN SHOWER, big difference. The room was very poorly kept, particularly the bathroom. The shower leaked all over the floor and became slippery. The black mold in the shower was unconscionable, the walls were stained and had unknown debris on themThe whole thing was distasteful. Is this how we accommodate our physically customers. From giving the handicapped room away when it was not requested as such.

I drive from Florida to N. Y. And back a few times a year. I prefer the western route through the beautiful Shenandoah valley. Dividing the trip into thirds works best for me, so Winchester is a convenient stopover. This hotel offers large, clean, and quiet room. Good rates. Located near food and shopping. Staff is efficient and friendly. Wi-Fi signal was good. The Wi-Fi was the only "extra" I used, so I can't comment on the pool, gym, or breakfast. The only negative thing I could add is that this place is no secret, so it's frequently sold out.

My family and I were here three times this fall. Once for my dad’s 90th, then his funeral and finally to settle his estate. Each time the perky girl with the pony tail at the desk was unfeeling, rude and unhelpful. We requested to be able to leave our luggage until after the burial. She declined. I also had to clean the tub before using it because of hair all over it. I asked for a credit. She declined.

Consistently friendly staff. Warm breakfast. Comfortable rooms. I've stayed here over 50 nights and I'm always warmly welcomed back. Restaraunts within walking distance.

Stay here. Exactly what you want in the Hampton/Wingate/Express style hotel • Clean, quiet and looks great. King room had mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a clothes steamer. • Large breakfast area, with waffle iron. Laundry (coins) room on 2nd floor. One note: would prefer walk in shower as opposed shower in tub. • Jason handled the phone reservation as we left BWI and check in. Fast and friendly. Perfect for 10pm check in. Excellent job.

I want to express my sincere disappointment with your front desk. Whenever we come to Virginia, we stay @ the Wingate. Jason the front desk clerk was very rude. It's not that your hotel was booked, it was his mannerisum and his approach towards us. Very unprofessional. When I requested his name, he refused to give it to me & only gave me his first name. I have never met a hotel personnel with his attitude. I have worked with the Marriott chain, and that would never happen, or be tolerated. Sorry to say, but we will no longer patronize your facility again. Alicia Perez.

Location is great. We stayed there while retuning from a beach vacation. We ate at the Glory days grill, service and food was excellent. We shoped at the stores too. Room was bigger than the Hilton next store. We stayed there a few years ago. Pool was clean … Room was quiet and clean… We Will be back next year.

There was a nice pool on the first floor, and I think the surrounding buildings were very good. They had a Best Buy, a Waffle House, a Game stop, and much more. I think that the rooms were very livable. The beds smelled nice, and they even allowed dogs. The breakfast they had there was nice, they had a various selection of cereals, muffins, and they had a Waffle maker. They also had various liquids such as coffee, skim milk, and 2% milk. Altogether I think it was a great hotel and I would stay there again.

Completely awful customer service from Becky. After explaining the situation she told me her opinion and did not listen to a word I said afterwards. They charged me and another person for the same room and refuse to give the money back. This is sketchy business.

Everything is broken. The Wi-Fi has been down every day during my 5 day stay. The fitness center has been closed for every day as well. The in room coffee maker doesn't work. The rooms are nice, but they can't deliver on amenities that were promised.

We got the room with the Jacuzzi and it was well worth the extra money! It had a full kitchen and the room was very clean! The whole hotel experience was just lovely!

I've yet to find a Wyndham location I didn't like, and Wingate Winchester was no exception. Clean, friendly, and a hot breakfast; you can't beat it! And at the best price!

Booked on Expedia, our room was ready and clean. Hotel is staring to show its age, but I suppose it's priced accordingly.

This is my 3rd time staying at the Wingate. Great hotel. Quiet, good breakfast and kind attentive staff. Rooms are super clean. And the lobby is always decorated beautifully (esp for holidays). We stay on the 4th floor where guests are allowed to bring pets. We have pur dog and she likes the hotel as well since theres a grassy area we can take her to. In the plaza where the hotel is there is a Chilis and a great restaurant called glory days. Both deliver to your room or you could walk. Nearby is every kind of store you could need including a mall. We also had our son so ventured out to a nearby park that had great hiking trails and playground. I highly recommend staying at the Wingate and in the town of Winchester VA.

I don't know where the low raters stayed, but, it couldn't have been this hotel. The hotel, itself, is really nice. The handicapped-accessible room I needed was nice and spacious. It had a king bed, along with room for a roll-away cot. Very comfortable bed. The roll-in shower for a shower chair was nice, and, had plenty of hot water, with a nice handheld shower. The only complaint I have is the length of the breakfast period — — 3 1/2 hours. Breakfast had to be brought to me in the room. Had I gotten up and Had I gotten ready, breakfast would have been over, by the time I was ready. It should be until at least 11:00 :. The hot breakfast that was brought to me was good, though. I highly recommend this hotel.

Nice quiet place, just what we needed. Friendly staff, mediocre breakfast.

Booked this hotel through Priceline for $76 for one night. Though the hotel appeared clean, I had one of the worst nights sleep ever. First of all, the bed (mattress) was rock hard and the pillows were so thick (and hard), just using one had your neck at like 150 degree angle. The comforter on the bed was so heavy (it must weigh 20 pounds) it was uncomfortable to use and hard to even pull up. Felt like I was under a heavy exercise mat. These things combined made for a bad nights sleep. I will not use this hotel again.

This hotel was very noisy. At 11:30pm when the people upstairs decided to use their in room jacuzzi, our room vibrated from the noise. Had to kill two stink bugs. People walking down the hallways, it made our room vibrate. We will not be back.

Not sure where the other people stayed but this place is nice, staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.

The hotel room was nice and clean, the room with the Jacuzzi was very nice n the room had comfortable space felt relax. The only problem I had was being told a certain amount when I check in then when I check out it was another amount, was not happy with that so next time if I decide to go back I will pay online.
