Best rooms for the price great location good breakfast choice.

Literally the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stepped foot in. Not to mention the horrible rude thieves that run it! It’s a disgrace this place is even open. The entire building stinks and the rooms are filthy! And don’t think about asking for a refund because they’ll deny you and threaten to call the police… nasty place. Nastier people.

Not only do you pay for the rooms but they're charging extra to swim in the pool… now that’s ridiculous…

The beds where very comfortable. The hot shower was relaxing.

My room was in good shape and clean. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The rest of the hotel is very shabby, though, and way overdue for some major rehabilitation. The location is good, and the room was worth the low rate for one night, but I would stay elsewhere if you are vacationing for several days.

Very run down and outdated.
Beds are terrible, dont think I'll bother with the breakfast in the morning.
the air conditioner at least seems to be working in the room, but doors open with fans in the halls and rest of the building.

They were extremely accommodating Helped us Park or motorcycles up Underneath the awning… The hotel is dated but the Service we got was great We would stay again!

If you see this hotel… just keep on driving to the next place… the first room we were in has a drop coming from the ceiling pooling on the floor. The air conditioning for the building was out so the halls were muggy and the whole place smelt musty. There were mattresses in the garbage. We were given a new room and it was an improvement enough and we were exhausted enough to just stay and sleep, on top of our own blankets. Normally I try to find the good in places… but this place made that difficult…

WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED! Julie and Anna at the front desk were the rudest people I have ever encountered! Julie even went as far as calling me a "b*itch" and telling me "fu@k you" what kind of hotel customer service is this! But as far as John was concerned he was a very nice and respectful man. The only reason I'm giving it 1 star is for the pool and John.

People fighting, basic rooms, everything needs renovations, hotel amenities like gym and ice machine not functioning, pool looked dirty, bed looked like it had been priced way to high.

For an Econolodge is better than the hotels I stayed all week. Should be above a Econolodge for Choice Hotels. Bed was the most comfortable of the week to.

I’ve only been here 20 minutes and I’m ready to write a review. RUDE STAFF — SMELLY BUILDING I arrived to find 2 other guests dealing with a gentleman “John” at the front desk because their rooms were double booked. I waited patiently as they dealt with the rooms. As I waited a woman who was the manager on duty showed up and very shortly and with out making eye contact asked “what do you want” I started the process of checking into my room. John asked what room size I wanted and how many people were in the room. Then asked the manager if there was a room available for me. Because of the other guests dealing with their rooms being double booked and since they were making sure I still had a room, I asked if my room would still have the AAA discount applied. I couldn’t understand what the manager said as she mumbled without looking at me — something about parking and that we were not to take towels from the room to the pool. I asked to see the receipt and was verifying the price on my original booking on my phone. I was told I needed to hurry up and leave nearly ten seconds after I had received my receipt. I said just a moment — I needed to check my bill. The man behind the desk, John, decided to explain how a 17% tax works and that I needed to move because the people behind me had been waiting a long time (the people dealing with a double booking). I said, “go right ahead and help them — I’m just checking my bill. ” I was again told I needed to leave.

The room was clean and staff was friendly. The room shows its age but cleanliness was not an issue. For the price, we would stay again.

Older budget hotel, clean sheets, and the vacant building next door provided great truck/RV parking space. Allows dogs. Staff is friendly. 4/5 with respect to budget hotels. It's not the Ritz.

The decor was a little outdated, but the bed was surprisingly comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My stay was great and I will be staying here again.

Clean room (with a full sized fridge? Certainly more fridge then I needed for the night), continental breakfast, close to the highway. Exactly what youd expect from an econolodge.

You get what you pay for. Every piece of furniture was old and stained. White lamp shades were yellow. Wall paper was stapled together. Discoloration in corners of ceiling above shower. Carpet felt dirty. Thin walls and floor. Our room was upstairs and down the hall from the lobby and we could hear the phone ring and door open all through out the night. Only plus side, is this hotel was the only one in Marion when all others were fully booked.

Rooms are nice for the price you pay… they look very clean but woke up the 2nd night extremely itchy with huge red bites that welped up. Had them on my neck, face, arms, back, ankels and hands. I went to the ER the next morning, for them to inform me they were bed bug bites! I was furious and when I spoke to the lady at the desk she called me a liar saying I must have brought them in her hotel.

It wasn't great. The doors are coming apart. There was no running water in the bathroom sink. Reasonable priced but not worth it.

Front desk not helpful, entries smelled bad, like that is where people allowed to smoke, rooms outdated, in need of repair, breakfast just a waffle machine and boiled eggs, coffee. Area very dirty, no one at front desk to take key, and it wasn't because they were cleaning breakfast room or restocking. Advertise being pet friendly, but at check in, didn't allow pets. Eventually did for an extra $20, and we had to rent a more expensive room.

They not treating people right, the shower head in the first doesn't work properly we have to move to a different room, the next room there's no refrigerator and the TV channel doesn't right, the other issue for the third room the heat was blowing cool air and the had an attitude from the desk with us because we were not satisfied. And the workout room equipment didn't work and the workout room was so dirty it was not even time yet for us get out in the room they already deactivated our room keys. That was so very disrespectful. The Jacuzzi was not work.

We stopped here during a trip from Florida condo and needed a good bed. The room was okay but I do not think I will ever stay here again. The breakfast was okay and guests were stealing food putting it in their purses, really. The rooms were dirty and toilet was lose to the floor. No other rooms? The spa tub had many troubles including a repair to safety bars that a 5 year could have done. The vacuum from each intake jets was way to strong, sucked my hand so it cut the back of my hand. Take a pass on this place, so many choices try those.

I rated this hotel a 5 before and now 4… because I feel 4.5 is a better score. Needs some minor maintenance, staff very helpful, and well worth the price. If your looking for a nicer hotel, u will need to pay more.

We have been staying at this motel several times a year since the early 90's. It show some of its age but is still a good place to stay. Warmest indoor swimming pool and hot tub we've ever bumper in. Friendly people, clean/near rooms.

I would give ZERO stars if I can. AVOID THIS HOTEL AS MUSH AS POSSIBLE! Smells like smoke that's covered with artificial deodorizer! Dead cockroaches on the hallways and stairways. Water in the toilet and bathtub drains very very slowly. Very dirty carpet all around. Restrooms in the pool area doesn't working lights at all! AVOID THIS HOTEL! UNLESS YOU CANNOT FIND ANY PLACE TO STAY!

The hotel is old and needs work. Carpeting has an area where a hot iron burned it. In room phone doesn't work. A/C is slow but eventually gets the job done. In the plus side, everyone who works here is beyond helpful. Requests are promptly dealt with. When there was a mix up by our booking agency, the front desk clerk personally phoned EVERY hotel in the area looking to find a room for us. She even questioned incoming guests to see if they really needed more than 1 room. As it turned out, a pair of sisters agreed to share a room so we were set. The pool was fine as was the hot tub. Nice sized fridge in the room as well as a microwave. I'd give the building a 1.5 and the personnel a 5.

Am a loyal customer, staying here on a regular basis for about $ 55-60 night. When I tried to make a reservation near the time of the " Eclipse " was told the rate would be $ 150. It is an Econo Lodge, and is never worth that kind of money. They are just ripping people off, just because they can. When I questioned there motives, the woman just simply hung up on me. I hope this one event was worth loosing me as a customer who used to stay there 5 times a year.

We had stopped at one to check price befor choosing econo lodge. We stayed one night for 66 dollars. We were pleased with it, and will stay again in the future, there were a couple things that wasn't perfect. A burn on the carpet where someone laided an iron, and the phn was messed up. But the bed was comfortable we told the clerk at the desk about the phn when we checked out. I just can't see paying over 100 dollars for a room, and won't do it. We were pleased with our stay, thank u econo lodge and when we return, we will b picking your hotel.

It was worth the price of $64.37 (incl tax). The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The Wi-Fi was free and fast enough for 2 laptops. One strange thing, we had a full-sized refrigerator in the room. The pool was out of commission, not that we were going to use it anyway. The hallways were unairconditioned. The lobby was stark and beat up looking. But the worst was no coffee in the free continental breakfast (a very small continent).

We stopped here during a trip to Mackinac Island on really enjoyed the stay here, it is right on the water front. When you go here try the Perkin's restaurant, walking distance, as the food and service were above average. The staff at hotel were so helpful we treated them to cookies and pie from Perkin's. Thank you again for the great stay here and we will be back again.

I've stayed here a few times when traveling. Yes… its older, not perfect. YET my room has always been clean and staff cordial. I love the quietness too! For the price… I WOULDN'T complain! It a good deal!

The service was great. The hotel itself is extremely old and needs renovating. The price is high for such outdated rooms. Also the air conditioning in the hallways don't work so you start sweating just walking down the hall. It's definitely an emergency only hotel; if I didn't need to stop ASAP I wouldn't have chosen EconoLodge.

The gentleman working when we stayed was very kind. (I would give him 5 stars for kindness, but not the hotel for sure. ) The hallways and elevator were unbearably hot. Guessing they are trying to save money by not running AC in ANY area other than the rooms. You must crank the AC up in your room the moment you get in because it is equally as sweltering as the hallways and elevator. It will take several hours before it will be remotely cool in the room. The hotel is in fairly major disrepair. The rooms were probably as clean as could be expected, but leaves a bit of that "is this gross or not" kind of feeling. Hard to tell. The next disappointment… We have four boys, and we managed to forget to grab their uber expensive toothbrushes when we left. (All were hungry and wanted to go down to the lobby to see what the free breakfast contained but the heat and smell of the hotel quickly diminished any thoughts of eating there. ) I called today to ask if they found the toothbrushes and they had! Yay! However, I was told that they would not help in ANY way. I would either have to come and pick them up (three states away) or send, not only paid postage, but a box to send them in. No assistance, no COD, nada! We usually stay at Holiday Inn Express when traveling but all were booked for miles and miles in every direction. I have left items at HI and they are ever so kind and willing to help. Point: Travel the extra 100 miles to get to a decent hotel. It will be worth it!

I. Love. This. Motel. It's is. The. Beat and they treat you like family not grass and no one can pay me to go anywhere else but here.

A friend of mine just informed me of He and his family's reservation getting lost and when he got frustrated over it as they had traveled 7 hours to get there, the owner became irate and very unprofessional when he began cussing them and throwing them out. I will never stay at another Econo lodge ever again. Especially at the one located at 1806 Bittle Pl, Marion, IL.

This place was a much better stay than I anticipated. The room was clean, all of the staff were polite and helpful. I give it 5 stars because we paid 80$ for a room with a king size bed and it had everything we needed. The price was right for what we got. The USB charging ports next to the bedwere an unexpected bonus. If we pass through here again we would definitely stay here if we could get the same price for the same type of room. I definitely recommend it. Btw… The pictures are accurate, lobby, front of building, the picture of the room with king size bed is dead on.

It was fine. They only provided shampoo, not conditioner. The hallways kind of smelled like smoke.

Rooms were clean… And nice. Breakfast was great and fun making your own waffles with the kids. Kid friendly and pet friendly.

I had an overall good experience. The price is great and I had no complaints.

NEVER NEVER EVER STAY HERE! Worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. First upon arriving we were shocked that the pictures online did not match what we were seeing which was an outdated ran down building. Then when checking in and seeing our room, there was a dead bug by the window and a wasp (which I'm allergic to, so it freaked me out even more) on the wall. So we asked to switch rooms. She brought us down stairs to the first level. Our first reaction was that it smelled horrible! But we were going to give it a second chance. The room seemed fine so we put our bags in and left for the day. When we returned later on we noticed the smell still there and more bugs along the hallway walls. That was enough! We wanted out! We went to the receptionist and told her how we felt she said there was nothing she could do. We wanted a total refund because we did not want to stay there especially with a 4 year old and now thinking of the possibilities of bed bugs. And she is still saying she can not give us a refund. We demanded to talk to the manager and the manager would not speak to us over the phone. (Which is unprofessional when you have unhappy guests) and with much going back and forth and demanding to speaking to someone in charge. We finally were able to speak to the manager and I was able to plead my case. He said he would ONLY give me a 50% refund. So I told him how he was false advertising online because his hotel looks nothing like the building we went to.

Not a 4 star hotel but relatively clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Nice pool and hot tub. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. Only problem was they deactivated our room keys at 9:00 and checkout wasn't until 11.

I will never stay here again! Although the person at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, the room was dirty. There were also ants crawling on the nightstand. My daughter and I were afraid to take a shower!
