Review of Econo Lodge Marion 2*

NEVER NEVER EVER STAY HERE! Worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. First upon arriving we were shocked that the pictures online did not match what we were seeing which was an outdated ran down building. Then when checking in and seeing our room, there was a dead bug by the window and a wasp (which I'm allergic to, so it freaked me out even more) on the wall. So we asked to switch rooms. She brought us down stairs to the first level. Our first reaction was that it smelled horrible! But we were going to give it a second chance. The room seemed fine so we put our bags in and left for the day. When we returned later on we noticed the smell still there and more bugs along the hallway walls. That was enough! We wanted out! We went to the receptionist and told her how we felt she said there was nothing she could do. We wanted a total refund because we did not want to stay there especially with a 4 year old and now thinking of the possibilities of bed bugs. And she is still saying she can not give us a refund. We demanded to talk to the manager and the manager would not speak to us over the phone. (Which is unprofessional when you have unhappy guests) and with much going back and forth and demanding to speaking to someone in charge. We finally were able to speak to the manager and I was able to plead my case. He said he would ONLY give me a 50% refund. So I told him how he was false advertising online because his hotel looks nothing like the building we went to. And he told me to go ahead and make a legal action… ALL of this for a refund? MORAL OF THE STORY DONT STAY ANYWHERE TO SAVE A BUCK, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
