Good for what I needed. Was in town for less than 12 hours. No complaints.

Not a nice Hampton. Didn't live up to our other Hampton experiences. The king bed/whirlpool room was more expensive the orders we have got in other locations, with a much smaller room, no sofa and a small whirlpool and shower. The whole place seemed run down and understaffed. Pool was dirty. Locks didn't work on pool room and outside doors. Overall, unimpressed. The only good part is it's in a nice size town and near to Shawnee National Forest attractions.

We have a big group and had to get on the road early. They were very accommodating and made breakfast early for us!

Our client, touring musician Brandon Maddox, stayed here while on tour in the area and had a fantastic stay! The room was awesome, as was the staff (super friendly despite his late check in time), and the free breakfast in the morning is just what he needed to get back on the highway! Really nice hotel in Marion right off of 57, not too far from Carbondale and St. Louis. It was conveniently located to plenty of restaurants and retail. The rooms were clean and newly renovated. The staff was very helpful and help us check right in. The Wi-Fi worked great and they were totally fine with a later check out. There was free breakfast in the morning and it stayed open later than most hotel breakfasts usually do. We would definitely stay here again when we're passing through.

My recent stay with Hampton Inn in Marion was exactly what was needed. The rooms were perfectly comfortable with modern decor and spacious bathrooms. The hotel was quiet and very clean! They offer a weeknight social hour in the dining area with small bites and drinks for guests. Also, the breakfast offering was quite well done with plenty of options. Being located near to the interstate and having easy access to many dining options is also a benefit to this property. I didn't have the time to take advantage of the indoor pool, but it seemed well kept. Finally, the couple of employs I had the pleasure of meeting were very friendly. This is very nice stop in southern Illinois.

Clean and friendly staff at the front. Many nice places nearby to eat at. Location was excellent.

Enjoyed my stay here. Booked same day. The staff was amazing. Took a swim in their indoor pool. Front desk lady was super sweet. Plus was that we were the only guests in the pool, and it was very clean. Comfy beds and great price.

This Hampton was very clean and the staff very helpful. The breakfast area was well stocked and in good order.

My sister and I stayed for 3 nights for the eclipse viewing and a trip to Cahokia Mounds. Our hotel stay was a great experience. Upon check-in, the friendly desk person offered us solar eclipse glasses, which they smartly thought ahead to have available, as I was one of those that received the Amazon letter not to use our glasses. It was a huge relief. We were given a king bed room instead of the reserved two queens, but it was corrected quickly once we called down to the front desk. Rooms were nice, great to have quality Neutrogena amenities, internet easy to access, good variety of hot and cold items for continental breakfasts, lots of restaurants close by (walking or driving), and even a local Walmart to get the cooler for the eclipse day. All in all, a much better experience than I expected (being a long time Marriott customer). Great job, Hampton Inn!

We loved it. On road trips we are always looking to find a good, clean and close to hway or interstate hotel. This is the best. So clean, quiet (my kids slept thru the night) and bfast was great as well. The person at front desk was very kind too. Thank you.

This location is right off the highway and surrounded by a variety of amenities, restaurants, fuel stations and more. The hotel has ample parking and easy to find. Inside it has everything, a fitness center, pool, business center and even laundry. Free hot breakfast ad even evening happy hour. My room is very nice and spacious. I have had no issues so far. If you plan to see the eclipse in Carbondale, IL in 2024, I recommend staying here in Marion.

Upon arrival into the room, several large horseflies were present in the room. Hotel was fully booked for the night. Requested cancellation of reservation and refund; did not stay the night. Awaiting refund. I would normally rate one star for a hotel that presents a sanitation issue, but the front desk clerk did attempt to accommodate us at another property. I use reviews to guide my buying decisions and this hotel seemed fine, so I was very surprised to find a swarm of flies in my room upon arrival.

Best hotel in the Southern Illinois area. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Nice pool and gym. Good breakfast. But the biggest selling point is the staff. You won't meet nicer people. They are the absolute best!

Comfortable bed, adequate internet speed, the room I wanted was available early. So far so good.

Good clean bedroom with the nececiteis. The breakfast was alright but not great.

Breakfast was decent. The lighting in the bathroom was almost like a strobe light, gave me a horrible headache! But they came and fixed it right away. Also the internet is horribly slow.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also very good. The only problem is that the hotel is getting outdated. You can here people moving around in the halls and adjacent rooms.

Nice clean rooms. Friendly staff. Breakfast area is a little small especially since we were in town for a boys' basketball tournament. Still, the staff made sure everything was stocked well and food was hot.

Room was clean, breakfast was disappointing compared to my experience at other Hamptons.

Good clean facility, gym is under-equipped, pool water is slightly cold, staff is courteous and responsive. My stay was very comfortable.

The absolute slowest internet I have came across in a hotel, time to spend some money and update. This review took 15 minutes to write waiting for the page to load. If u need the internet for work there will be a problem. Hotel was decent but the internet was so bad made reading emails almost impossible. Parking lot was large and restaurants close by. This hotel has some years on it also.

I rated this hotel's quality and facilities as good trying to be fair. In reality I have no idea if they were good or not because the service was so bad I didn't stay. I had to drive 10 miles out of my way because the off ramp was closed. When I finally got to the hotel there wasn't a sole around. I waited 5 minutes still no one showed at the front desk. I walked out by the pool and back by the breakfast area still no one. So I went back to my car and called the hotel on my cell phone, the young lady that answered the phone said I must be at the wrong hotel because she had been at the front desk the whole time. I gave her the address of the hotel I was parked in front of and she said I was at the right hotel. I was in no mood to argue so I canceled the reservation and got a room at the Hampton in Mt. Vernon, about 45 minutes further on. That hotel was great.

Consistent business travel hotel. The place was a little older than the typical Hampton Inn but the friendly staff makes up for the lack of new amenitities.

The room was an excellent room, clean, smelled good too, indoor pool also. Breakfast was good too.
