Don't believe the prices on their website. Bait and switch. They imply that they have a health club and pool, but when you check in you find out it's four blocks away in another building. Room we originally checked into was literally the size of a closet with a queen bed stuffed in it. Room you're getting will probably not be what the picture on their website is. Old hotel, musty and dank smelling. Overpriced.

We reserved a block of rooms for our guests at the Hotel Abri for our San Francisco wedding. Jessica Miyamoto was such an excellent point of contact for helping to get that all set up and taking care of all our guests' preparations and special requests for the weekend. She answered all our questions and was so easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay, and I heard many positive comments from our guests as well. It's a cozy hotel with very San Francisco styled rooms. And the location is great for public transportation and being close to the many touristy attractions of SF. We would definitely stay at the Hotel Abri again!

This hotel is nicely located near Union square. There's plenty of food and shopping near by. I was greated with a welcome bag on arrival. The rooms are nice, nothing crazy fancy, but all the amenities you need are provided and the room size is good. I would stay here again.

I think it is a good value and they really try hard… The lobby looks like it's newly done and is pretty contemporary with orange modern sofa fireplace… When we arrived they were short-staffed and the person at the desk was also the Bellboy excetera excetera but was very good-natured and very helpful… And we received a good rate so I didn't mind waiting… He was also the valet so I took the luggage cart at myself to save time but I didn't mind… The room was very tiny and not much room to walk around in and it was a little bit noisy but again this is downtown San Francisco but it was a nice clean room with some nice amenities and they give you a nice little gift bag they also give you a coupon for I think it's $10 for the little restaurant bar that is connected to them.

Both my family and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Abri. We were guests for a week and have nothing negative to say about it. The rooms are very well equipped and clean! When we had an issue with our air conditioning unit's touch screen, we called the front desk and were met by maintenance within 5 minutes of calling. I think what I appreciated the most was the hospitality at the front desk. They really want to make your stay easy and comfortable. If I return to San Francisco, I will definitely be staying here again and I know others should to.

This hotel is pretty darn good. Centrally located. Rooms are typical for SF… My 2 double bed room was smallish. The shower is nice, but just meh water pressure. Amenities are good. Got a cool gift bag at check-in with wine, food, and other goodies. You can hear neighboring rooms if they are talking loudly. Good experience overall.

Great location, I love my room. Staff is so nice and very accommodating. I will still stay in this hotel again, and I recommend this to my friends. The only thing if you have a car. Parking is expensive. Public transportation is walking distance, bart, bus and cable car.

Had a wonderful time here, the staff was courteous and helpful, always offering us helpful benefits and complimentary perks. They made a birthday weekend memorable and special. If I had one negative thing to say, it would be that the valet parking was difficult to find without prior knowledge of where it is and there really isn’t any other option for parking. However, the quality of my stay far outweighed that inconvenience. That and honestly the place was a lot fancier than I thought it would be. The interior designer did great work!

Stayed here for a week, business trip. Area is shady by hotel is great. Just make sure you ask for a quiet room in the courtyard and you’re good to go. Very clean, modern, well organized.

Stayed here one night. Fantastic location! A good value the price, the room was spacious and clean, bathroom was renovated. Staff was friendly and helpful. One suggestion to improve the experience would be to add an exhaust to the bathroom but otherwise I would recommend the Hotel Abri to anyone looking to stay in Union Square.

This is our second stay with the Hotel Abri. The room was available earlier then standard check in time. The room suite was impeccably set up. Immaculately clean. Ample amenities, shampoo, conditioner bodywash… etc. Staff was friendly and attentive. I'm staying here again and again.

I was very disappointed with my stay here. Before this I stayed at Hotel Nikko across the street. They we're booked this time, so I thought Hotel Abri would be a good substitute, similar location and price (though a bit cheaper). Boy was I wrong! The room at Hotel Abri was noisy late at night from the street below; it was so loud that I really thought the window was open, but it wasn't. The room looked clean, though the hallway smelled kind of like pee but not quite. The building interior was very much in need of remodeling. Also, I would have felt safer with a chain lock on the door since I'm a woman travelling alone. This is the first urban downtown hotel I've stayed at that doesn't have one. Needless to say, I won't be staying here again.

The suite was a decent size and it was clean for the most part. It smelled like a grandmother's closet in there. The staff was very friendly. The location is ideal if you're trying to get a great feel of downtown San Francisco.

Staff is nice. Rooms are clean if a little old. Price is good. However one night at 2am to 4am someone was cleaning the sister restaurant steel hoods on the roof. I got no sleep and an upgrade for my pains.

Stayed in many SF hotels, this is the best so far. Great location and surprisingly quiet inside. The suites are good size and well equipped. It has proper showers instead of bath and curtain, which is what you get in most places. Reasonable price for SF too. Excellent mid range option.

Beautiful hotel in a great location! They make you feel wonderful when you walk in with a goodie bag of treats (and even a bottle of wine! ). The rooms were clean and service was great. The only downfall for me was that the showers are very small (less than 3' x 3') and the water pressure wasn't great. The combo made getting around in the morning a bit of a pain. I loved everything else though!

Pros: amazing location, restaurant and bar in same building, and staff was really helpful. Loved the gift bag we got. Cons: rooms are starting to become out of date. TV's are old and the overall experience feels dated. Beds weren't crazy comfortable. Not bad, but could be better. Wished there was a hot tub and or a gym. Overall: would recommend.

Great location, close to Union Square and BART, and MUNI. Room was nice and larger than expected. Staff was friendly and helpful and you get a $10 voucher for the restaurant that's connected to the hotel. If you decline housekeeping service they give you a $5 Starbucks card too. Only complaint was the water pressure in the shower sucked. Would totally stay here again and would recommend to others.

The hotel is clean, and the rooms are quite spacious and nice. The staff aren't the friendliest, but I had a good stay here overall. I love how they give vouchers for going green by not cleaning your room each day. Great idea!

The staff has been wonderful, the room is cozy and gives a warm non hotel feeling. Everything is very clean. I knocked a star bc the House keeping ignored my sign to decline room service. Otherwise I'd gladly return to this hotel. Outside the hotel, it seems loud and ghetto compared to a few blocked North. I still felt safe the whole time though.

Nice location! Older property but you can tell it's been renovated recently. Little noisy on the street side but you're in the heart of the city so it's to be expected. Rooms are a little small but worked great for our vacation. Would definitely stay there again.

Abri is located in union square. It's next to cable car Powell and market so getting around is easy. Staff are super friendly. Rooms are clean.

Husband and I with our 6 month old baby truly enjoyed our stay. They gave us a welcome bag with wine, 2 Voss waters and chips and peanuts mix. They even asked us if we wanted street view! The room was spacious and came with a mini fridge. Exceptional and courteous staff. We would stay here again.

Very stylish, nice hotel! We enjoyed our 1 night stay here. The welcome bag and bottle of wine was a lovely touch. Great, central location, very walkabe. The only downside was that the pull out couch was incredibly uncomfortable.

Like all San Francisco hotels, the rooms are really small. The atmosphere is good, but ' lacking ' a social place, even the breakfast is, in fact, a lunch box to be consumed in the only common area that is the reception. Perfect location, however, especially for those who have to go to the Moscone Center.

Rather disappointed with this hotel. I was charged additional charges that I was not told about and have had to subsequently track down receipts via email after my stay. The front desk staff advised they provided a free airport shuttle service from hotel to airport however once being dropped off the shuttle service then demanded payment and advised hotel had not paid. The room was very cramped (a ridiculously huge desk that was not necessary took up most floor space and consequently left a 40 inch space between the desk and bed) and I couldn't even open my suitcase comfortably. To be able to walk I had to keep closing the suitcase and shoving it down the only one accessible side of the bed.

Loved the comfort of the room. Would have loved more information about where the refrigerator was and less surprising additional fees. Loved the location. They give you free wine. Would have appreciated the choice between the wine or a desert as we don't drink alcoholic beverages. The staff was professional and friendly and very helpful.

What an amazing hotel! The location was terrific, right in union square. The staff was phenomenal, so friendly and very helpful. The room itself was great, clean, modern, everything we could ask for. And the price was so reasonable compared to everything else we saw in this area. Would definitely stay here again.

Extremely loud, even in an interior room. The staff is well aware of the sound levels, which is why they offered an internal room. The place is clean, but aging. Rooms are small, common in this area, but between the creaking floors and sound levels, I'm not sure I would return.

Hotel Abri is well located (around the corner from the Powell BART station) and easily accessible. The room we stayed in was cozy and well kept. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside we experienced involved the nightclub across the street; the clientele could be heard at certain times over night, which may be difficult for a light sleeper.

Great central location steps from Union Square, nice staff at front desk, got our room early and upgraded to a spacious suite (nice! ), All guests receive a welcome pack with complimentary water, chips, sweets and sangria, certainly a nice attention that made us feel even more welcome. Modern lobby with complimentary coffee in the morning. Will certainly recommend for people staying in SF for a couple of days.

Great location. Reception staff were fantastic and highly accomodating. Room was comfortable. The only issue I had was that a spot on the carpet smelled of vomit. I only noticed it when I was plugging in my phone to charge.

Restaurant was delicious, clean, and trendy. Had a very enjoyable meal, for which they offered many gluten-free options.

Just 1 minutes to light rail and downtown. The room was lovely, facilities were good. Staff very friendly, a little taste of the moment when it comes to the room, staff to help us change a room immediately and apologize for building old. When we're also got a bottle of wine and snacks. So pleasant!

Definitely a little place. Don't know about it being nice. You'll notice the fact that effort wasn't put into remodeling the rooms the instant you walk into it. Old phone, you could see the old paint over the current layer of paint, graffiti on the elevators, no central air, etc. The best part was the lobby and restaurant though.

Want to deal with A-holes? Stay there. Spending thousands on buisness trip with 20 colleagues and they are stll wanting to nickel and dime me. Paid for All rooms up front for 5 nights x25 rooms and they STILL wanted a deposit of $100 for incidentals. F this place. Stay at Sir Francis Drake. Better digs, more respect.

Hotel Abri is a nice little place to stay in San Francisco. The inside of the lobby and hotel is very nice. The room was a good size, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom was nice. The location is just off of Market, and is in a good central location with lots to do nearby. My only complaint was the noise outside my window at night. I was on the second floor and I could hear people talking as they walked by all night.

This hotel is ok. It's well furnished but lacks fast Wi-Fi.

Room is very small occupied by full size bed, ridiculously large office table with very big (for such room) TV above it, and absolutely redundant couch. Hotel doesn't have any gym and I had to pile furniture to make some exercises. Lamps are not well maintained, the bath has no plug, and the door can't be locked from inside. The cleaning is done with some chemicals with awful smell. I resolved it by "don't disturb" sign and open window in the bathroom. The price is probably not too high for San Francisco center. The place is quite noisy, but that is probably unavoidable in the city center. So if they don't pretend to be boutique hotel, but provide simple clean room with basic equipment, it be would be much better.

This hotel is not in a bad area. It is on the border for sure, but it is not dangerous. Could you end up with a crazy homeless person yelling out front? Sure. But you are going to get that anywhere in a big city, especially if you're looking for a hotel that isn't $500 a night in SF. To put it into perspective there is a Cold Stone two doors down that was absolutely packed with teenagers at around 10pm on a Tuesday night. Definitely not the dangerous wasteland that some of these reviews make it out to be.

Love the place. I got a "urban suite" for three nights and the staff, the room in all the aspects gave us a great experience. Do recommend it and would stay here again. Also saw lots of reviews complying about the Wifi, but I must say that to me it worked very well.

This place is on a street that's strewn with trash. Imagine this. You pull up to this hotel that in the pictures looks like a 5 star resort. Then you notice the screaming bums knocking over trash cans and yelling at you to give them money. I told one drunk and drugged hobo I had no money. Which was true I only had credit cards but he comes back to me 6 times and then falls over the Subway sandwich sign which is right next to the front entrance. Excellent posiitioning by the way. I'm struggling to unload my belongings the guys dont help you. There's no security when there obviously should be and the best they help you with is valet $50 or "the elevator is to the left. " Do not think for a second that you or your family won't get mugged here cause they will. Im 6 foot 2 and im big so no one messed with me but imagine anyone im that situation. The last bum to approach us stared at my girlfriend, asking for money, mocking us for being in town, and had it not been for the police squad car that coincidentally rolled up. I would have knocked him out. Stay away from here. Protect yourself and your family when your here.

BEWARE! SCAM! I book the hotel from hotels tonight for 218$ and 57$ parking, seems a little to good to be true in the heart of SFO. I checked my bank account when I got back and saw an additional — 150$ from hotel abri and another — 50$ a couple days later and another — 50$ a few days after that one. I first thought the 307$ (with parking) was the total cost of the room and the 218$ was for another hotel I booked. Until, I called HT who thought abri double booked the room. So, I gave abri a call and questioned the front desk who gave me some BS excuses of what it could have been. After 10 minutes of chewing this guy out, he said there was a smoking charge of 250$, which is the biggest load of BS I have ever heard in my entire life. The manager said they had pictures of the evidence but refused to email or fax them to me even after I agreed to pay for them. Do not give these people your credit card information because they will slowly funnel money out of your account expecting that wealthy people won't check their bank statements. My lawyer is going to have a field day with these thieves.

I typically write reviews when hotels exceed my expectations. Sadly this time I need to do the opposite. I feel I need to warn potential future customers on what they may expect. 1) Central area, close to the Powell BART stop. However, it feels quite unsafe on the street. 2) Very poor noise isolation. Avoid rooms on the street if you really want to go to this hotel. 3) Slowest complementary internet connection ever seen. Hard to even send a small attachment by email. 4) I was charged twice the amount I reserved for. The issue seems to be under investigation, still waiting for a good reason of why that would happen.

It's hard to see from street level but once your inside its a fine establishment I was on the 5 floor and the road noise was really loud and all night I could hear sirens. The room was claustrophobic but clean and modern and the valet parking was a rip off and your right near the tenderloin district where I saw drug dealing happening on street corners so for the price of the room its well overpriced.

Good price. Nice location. Wifi very slow…
