Cheap hotels in Borneo

I was transiting KK last week. Flight was delayed so I needed a Hotel close to Airport as I had to catch a flight early next day. It was a sheer joy staying at this very professionaly managed Hotel.

Clean, cozy and relaxing hotel.
I give it 4 stars because the first room I got had an air conditioner that wasn't working properly and the room phone was also not working.

This was already our fourth time staying with Simon and Itisha at HAKS Malaysia – and once again, they exceeded our expectations.

We thought the food was excellent and probably the best we had in Borneo! Thankyou.

Just a nice one night stay. Rooms rate are usually without breakfast because of only walking distance of rows of restaurants you can choose to have one.

Stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is great but the road to go there is very bad — jammed, many turns, with very limited parking.

Always pleased while staying at The Room. There's an eatery right downstairs, The Yard serving halal food. Also a convenient store next to the lobby.

Nice, clean, and comfortable. The room was well maintained and suitable for a short stay. Overall a pleasant experience.

If you’re looking for a cozy, budget-friendly stay in Kuching City, Quiikcat Hostel is a solid choice that blends comfort, character, and convenience.

This place is a gem of Kuching! Do not hesitate to book here!
The hostel is very clean and centrally located.

Super clean and spacious. Aircon worked great. Staff was amazing — Daisy went above and beyond to help us see a doctor for a health concern. Malaysian hospitality at it's finest!

I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Tawau. The rooms and facilities were very clean and well assigned. The staff is beyond helpful.

The place is amazing! sangat best! love the view love the preparation for customers, love the rooms! very tidy and clean also comfortable!

This place is seriously a hidden gem 💙 The view is INSANE—everything is just blue on blue, super calming and perfect for photos. The swing facing the ocean? 10/10 aesthetic.

We stayed here on the 6th of June 2026.
Breakfast was good for a 3 star hotel in KK 3.5/5.

Great stay overall. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Location was convenient with easy access to nearby spots. Breakfast had a good variety and everything was fresh.

This was honestly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had, and I would gladly stay here again on my next visit.
The location is absolutely unbeatable.

A rather convenient place to stay as nearby to a number of stores and eateries. Also, nearby to some tourist attractions which within the walking distance less than 20 mins.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had a wonderful stay at Ibis Styles Kota Kinabalu. Everything deserves 5 stars.

Business Trip for 10 Days ✈️
Stayed here for 7 days during my business trip, and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and has a romantic atmosphere.

Cozy, clean, calming view of the valley (which makes up for the lack of view of kinabalu mountain). Reviewing here so I can come again. Oh, friendly and helpful owner.

Absolutely great stay here! Great view, great environment, great sight and comfy room~
Can see the owner really spend heart to build or deco the place.

Excellent experience! The room was spotless, the facilities were well-kept, and the overall atmosphere was very welcoming.

Thank You Ms Deborah for your assistance.
Had a pleasant stay at this hotel 😊
The room rate was reasonable and definitely worth the price paid.

Receptionist at night and morning shift was nice and friendly. Very recommended.

The front desk staff is friendly. The price is quite affordable match to the cost that we paid. The environment quite nice as well and there’s no unpleasant odour.

The room was clean and comfortable, featuring simple amenities and a nice city view.

I got the cheapest room available. Besides the small room size everything else is good for a 2 nights stay. The have bigger delux twin room where a small fridge is provided.

Room was spacious and clean. Very convenient location with a large shopping mall just beside.

We had a really good experience here. It is a proper 3-star hotel setup rather than a motel, which we appreciated. The whole place felt modern and clean.

Went here for the 4th time! We ordered bambangan chicken (mango chicken sabah style) but we like the lemon chicken better. The food and view was nice.

Nice place to chill, is breezy, come early as it gets dark after 6pm and restaurant closed at 7.30pm. Come earlier have your dinner here, just chill and enjoy nature.

I recently stayed at this hotel from Nov 18 until Dec 13 and had a great overall experience.

Base on my experience and husband… our room is good and clean… the channels ok la also but dont have netflix but we dont mind… most important we sleep well on 2nd floor… got 7/11 shop near by and pet

Very accommodating. I arrived very early and asked if I could check in at 6 am because of my very early arrival into Miri and the receptionist took the trouble to attend to my needs! Thank you!

“The hotel is very good. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. Amenities are complete, including hot water. The room is clean and comfortable.

Its a nice place for a short stay. The room I stayed were neat. Staff were helpful and respectful. It’s located close to useful amenities and restaurants.

Even though it was a short stay, I must personally extend my warmest gratitude to both Ms Mira for he excellent customer service right from the start where she explained all my queries professionally

It met my main objective as upon travel me n family, we loved to do out door activities.

Room, linens, towels and toilet (bathroom) are so clean. Very spacious too. Easy walking distance to Centre Point/Gaya Street. Price is worth it and loving the easy check in and out.

My second time stay here honestly this is one of the best yet underrated hotel in Kota Kinabalu❤️ located at the city centre make it easy to travel around the city.

Great service and clean and everything is even new. Beds were quite comfortable and everything worked as it should (not that common somehow). The owner is great and very helpful and friendly as well!

There were a few rooms, ours stated it was a shared bathroom bedroom during booking, but it wasn't. Only the room above us was air conditioned. Everything was comfortable.

Great value for money! The owner is very friendly, the view is beautiful, and there are even some cute cats around. It’s also convenient for elderly guests since there aren’t too many stairs.

I stayed at Hotel Kensington and it exceeded my expectations! The room was 3-star la Kan quality, but the service was top-notch, earning it a full 5 stars!

One of the best budget hotel i’ve ever stayed. The room was nice, I don’t know for others but you get what you paid for right.

Rooms are super cozy with all amenities like fridge, washing machine and kitchen items. It is very clean and hygienic which I appreciate.
