Fantastic experience, and the staff were always friendly and helpful! We speak zero Japanese, and the staff only speaks limited English, but don't let that deter you.

A lovely place at the edge of the deer forest. A marvelous Japanese hosting with a welcome drink and tea set to the room. We had 2 different rooms. Japanese style. Very spacious.

Shisui, Nara is a masterclass in how to convert a historic landmark into a world-class resort.

This was my first time staying at a Luxury Collection hotel. Shisui is a small property with only 41 rooms, located in a historic building. The Japanese aesthetic is present throughout.

Very lovely place. Full of charm. It is small and intimate. The staff made you feel very well taken care off. The onsen is relaxing and not busy. Its located in the middle of Dorogawa Onsen.

Hanaya Tokubei is a newly refurbished traditional onsen inn.
We are a group of 5 who were arranged to stay in a big room together. The room is basic but very clean.

This hotel has an excellent location, and the staff are wonderfully kind and welcoming.

This ryokan inn is very well located in Nara for the JRKintetsu trains, eateries, shopping — and a short walk to Nara Park. It is very quiet & clean.

The food was good and the people friendly.
It was quite isolated, shared bathrooms with shower on a different floor and the pillow pretty challenging for anyone used to a soft pillow.

Amazing and memorable stay I had there. They met me by the train station and then I spent a lovely peaceful night on the mountain and at 6 in the morning we had a pray in the temple together.

It was a great stay with a super nice service and fantastic location. Location-wise I don’t think there can be anything better in Nara! Wholeheartedly recommend!

Lovely ryokan in Nara between the Kintetsu station and the park. Stayed for one night and was treated to gracious hospitality, all the staff were kind and welcoming.

Great location for hopping around places of interest in Osaka, Kyoto and Nara.
Interesting well kept Taisho era building.

The guesthouse is in older part of Nara, yet not far from Nara Park. The building has great bones and my room (s) were spacious, clean & quiet.

Nothing but the highest praises for Akira san and the hostel's team, it is my second time here and everything was well prepared, clean and the team was well informed and could help in every need just

I stayed at this hotel based on the travel agent's recommendation, as it has good internet access and is close to Kintetsu Nara Station.

We couldn't find any lockers at the Nara Station and we discovered this hotel offered luggage storage while we visited Nara Park for the day. The front desk man was very nice.

A lovely hotel with amazing and helpful staff on the top of the mountain. They picked us up and dropped us off from the station and provided delicious meals.

We had originally booked for 3 nights but ended up staying 4 nights. The hotel arranged pick up for us at Yoshino station though we arrived past 6pm. The Kaiseki-ryori dinner we had was superb.

Great location, not far from Nara main station. Easy check in / check out. The place had everything you needed, including free washing machine / dryer.

Everything is great. But the timing is not good as it was decoration cuz bad smells.

Absolutely amazing stay. Great location, very close to Nara park and the shops. The room was huge, and very clean. Very nice staff who can speak a bit of English if you need it.

Booked this hotel day before and it was still pretty cheap! got a front facing economy twin and the room was quite nice.

The hotel is a bit tired, but the staff are very helpful and friendly. They serve happy hours free sake and snack in the evening time. Breakfast is tasty 😋
