An-Grande Hotel Nara

Absolutely amazing stay. Great location, very close to Nara park and the shops. The room was huge, and very clean. Very nice staff who can speak a bit of English if you need it.

Booked this hotel day before and it was still pretty cheap! got a front facing economy twin and the room was quite nice. Really appreciate that the toilet was actually in the bathroom (some places in japan separate them). However, there was a rather rank smell in the bathroom that turned out to be the conditioner : (don’t know why it smelled like that. Otherwise check in was easy, the location is PERFECT (there are literally deer outside the entrance and it’s a 15 minute walk to anywhere in nara park) would stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel for one night after a trip to Nara. Location is great and within walking distance to Kofuku-ji, Higashimuki shopping street, and Todai-ji. Quiet, spacious, and very clean! We also received a lot of help from the front desk doing our luggage forwarding despite our limited Japanese. I forgot to get their names, but the two kind ladies who helped two silly Americans on 5/15 around 6 pm with luggage forwarding — thank you so much, we appreciate all your help! Will stay here again if we pass through Nara again in the future!

Location is perfect. Just a few steps from Kintetsu Nara station and the main shopping / restaurant street. A fabulous Michelin Star restaurant (Le Bois) is directly opposite the street and the deer park is in the same direction. A Lawsons and 7-12 are right there as well.
We booked a corner junior suite — there are two in the hotel. The room itself is large and the bathroom is the largest we’ve had in Japan. Massive TV (but few TV channels and none in English — but that’s not a complaint). Great Wi-Fi and aircon. 2 x queen beds. Good shower etc. There’s a small balcony which we didn’t use because of the traffic noise.
The hotel is on a busy road and the traffic noise was the only real negative. We slept ok with ear plugs but it’s not great sitting in the room with that noise. Other rooms near the back of the hotel are probably much better.
Breakfast must be booked the day before — 2, 000 yen each and a choice of western or Japanese. It was fine and interesting but a little wasteful. Staff were super polite. There are coin operated washing machines and (slow) dryers in the basement.
One morning we awoke to a deer on the lawn of the next-door courthouse.
So, as long as you don’t mind a bit of traffic noise this is a great place to stay.

Nice hotel. Everything looks new. 5mins walk to Kintetsu-Nara station, Nara park, Starbucks Nara park.
Reception staff where friendly but they have min understanding of English, get Google translation ready.
The TV only have Japanese stations. No Netflix or YouTube available.
There’s usb charger in the room.
There’s kettle and mini fridge in the room.
Oh, don’t even think of early check in, u will be charge 2k+ ¥ for an hour.

We stayed here for one night when staying in Nara. This hotel was just a short walk from the station maybe two minutes or so. And really close to loads of Restaurants and just a short walk to all the Deer and Golden Buddha. The room was very nice, super comfy bed and a really nice bathroom with fabulous shower and bath.
Would stay here again next time when in Nara.

Great boutique hotel in Nara, right next to the park and temples. Service was 5 stars as well as the rooms. Corner suite was just amazing! Deers walking right in front of the hotel in the morning.

The reception and housekeeping staff surpassed expectations, especially considering the hectic New Year's season. They were attentive to our every request, even correcting any miscommunications on my part, and surprised us with complimentary drinks. The design, decoration, and cleanliness were impeccable. The junior suite offered a spacious living area and equally impressive bathroom, with plush beds. The accommodations rivaled those of a four-star establishment, exceeding expectations at a very reasonable price point. Highly recommended! "
