Our family of 6 loved our stay at Kasuga Hotel in Nara. The traditional Japanese inn atmosphere, complete with comfortable futon beds, made the experience feel authentic and special. The hotel’s location is excellent — just a short walk to Nara Park, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing.
The staff were professional, courteous, and attentive throughout our stay. The sumptuous Japanese breakfast was a highlight, beautifully presented and deeply satisfying, offering a wonderful start to the day. A great choice for anyone seeking a classic ryokan experience in a prime location.

Great hotel. It’s a bit older so it has that older bit of charm. You’re staying here for the convenience. Extremely easy to get to Kintetsu Nara station. I don’t think there is a hotel closer to the station. They have a free beverage machine down at the hotel lobby. And they offer cookies and crackers. Nice. The staff are incredibly friendly.

We stayed here just yesterday, on the last day of our honeymoon in Japan, and it was the perfect way to end our trip. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable — surprising us with a bottle of white wine served on our room’s veranda as a congratulatory gift. It was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture.
The traditional dinner and breakfast were exceptional. The hotel offers a monthly Japanese menu, prepared exclusively with local and seasonal ingredients. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of delicate, refined flavors. The service throughout was warm, professional, and consistently attentive.
The location is ideal — just a short walk from the train station, the deer park, and a bustling street filled with shops and local food spots. After a long day of exploring, soaking in the onsen was exactly what we needed.
The peaceful atmosphere made us feel like we had stepped back in time. The onsen featured three different pools and all the amenities for complete relaxation. An unforgettable experience from start to finish.
